Lol I would but I dont have the power nor the electrical to go that route. I def have given it a thought. Its just too much of a hassle to go through all of that when I love my BLs already.

he has a lot on his plate. It took over a week for him to respond to me and all I had was a simple question. He probably has dozens of emails to answer a day and not to mention that this is only his side job. Be patient and you'll get a answer from someone.

Ported Vox with Regular Port vs Aero Tubes
phresh replied to phresh's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Just saw that someone else posted a similar topic earlier. -
Could I get the same output if I use aero tubes on my box instead of a regular port? I want to get a 9cuft box for the new 15" BLs. Would the aero tubes make the gross area of the box smaller because I want the box as small as possible but still have about 9cuft of area after displacements?

Soundstream Amps
phresh replied to phresh's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Soundstream makes a lot of amps. Any specific model ? Or any specific budget for the amp ? Looking at the Soundstream pca2000d or any other amp between 2000-2500 watts. I was also looking at AudioQue amsp and might go with the 2200 -
Nice ports. Cant wait to see when its done

Do some research first on the site and see what fits you, your goals, and your budget.

I was the same way back when I first got subs when I was 16 with 2 Pioneers. I liked for other people to feel it but then I found out there will be more people who dont like it than do like it. Then I started to play it just for me and turned it down at lights, in traffic, and in neighborhoods. Your young and youll learn.

LOL... i was thinking the same thing when i saw the specs on the site.
-
Random question but is that 9.5cuft after displacement and what is the box tuned to?
-
Dang... wish I had the extra money right now but i spent lots on pointless bull. Guess I AM A have to go with the $485 next month when i get my check. See ya $425. LOL

I was trying to describe to a friend back home how my BL sounds by comparing them to something he would know. I would describe it as how crisp and clean it hits when the bass kicks in. Ryan J what would you describe it as? & the BL sq wise is good for me. The lows are fine to me. i can deal with 1 note not being as loud in 1 out of every 10 songs i listen to. I learned what the REAL lows are by listening to a classical cd on my BLS... now i know what they are talking about when they say the BL lacks lows. Its not rap lows.

I would think there is a noticeable difference. I would wait for the 15s if thats what you really want to get

That would definitely be me if I were you. lol

Yea. Pioneer only makes 10s & 12s Wrong look at the pioneer TS-SW841D it's a 8 inch sub, and the TS-W8102SPL an 15 inch sub. Yea i thought about that big a** 15" subwoofer they had a couple hours ago. That was my mistake. Never heard of the 8" tho. Thanks

One of my friends has 2 Pioneer TS-W307D4s in a regular ole cheap ported box on a Kenwood 1800 watt amp and it actually gets pretty loud...in the 140s if he turns it all the way up and it doesnt sound bad either. For the price ($50-$70) they are actually a very good deal. Any ever heard these or the step up Pioneer Premier subs?

Yea. Pioneer only makes 10s & 12s

Thats the same thing I was thinking. Idk why it was so loud. I def would have gotten them for a first setup because of how cheap hey are and how much space they take up... just about none. But still wouldnt trade in my BLs for em.
-
I wonder how many watts will the new BL fully loaded be able to take. The old one was about 1800.
-
Yeah, I've heard about the new BL's but i'm not sure whats different about them. Is there a post that explains them I can look at? About a 1.25" of magnet diameter. Comes standard with pole chamfer and a copper coil vs paying for the chamfer as an option and the older standard coil. Added the hyper pole chamfer which is similar in geometry to the compression plug in the BP option of the Qs and SSDs, although this is integral to the pole (machined all as one piece) and not just a machined aluminum part added. Now has the urethane Fi logo dome tag on the back of the motor as well. Its also 10lbs heavier as well.
