how much power are you giving them? i know you listed your amp but i dunno how you have it wired...
-
dang, what impedance are you running your setup? that sub must be seeing a good amount of power cuz mine never move like that (then again if i made both of them move that much it'd probably be unbearable lol)... how do you like your box? i always thought 2.5 ft^3 was too big no?
-
If we went any bigger the enclosure wouldnt fit... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i know. thats why i still think about just running 1 w/ a big box.. but i think about changing sh!t up too often
-
i wonder how they compare to IDs current models..
-
i knew that tweeter looked familiar... get new components! other than that very sick...
-
i have no qualms about going 1.5 ft^3 ~ 34hz (mike's rec) but once again, you guys all make me feel like the guy in the locker room with the small willy with your big boxes and low tuning
-
i feel like such an outcast with only 500 w to each of mine it doesnt help my ego either when everyone's pimpin bigger boxes with lower tuning than me
-
idv3's are always a steal at sd.com... the price alone makes me want to scoop up a few but i have no use for them
-
yep... labrynth it shall be my preliminary plans only have a port area of 12.75 in^2...should i change this??
-
What would be considered too small for a round port (in terms of diameter)? I'm trying to design a ported box (0.7 ft^3 ~ 24hz) w/ round ports for an RL-I 8" and the only diameter port I can use w/ a reasonable length is less than 1.5"...won't this create noise? I just can't imagine using a 1" port for that monster... What's the rule of thumb y'all?
-
just thinking about that is making my ears hurt...seriously
-
welp, the only solution i can think of for now is to use two subs or find a different toy
-
you know, i was thinkin about splurging on some subs too and considered getting three rl-i 10"s as well (in addition to the svc 8er i'm gonna pick up).. i can't help but try and compare them to mainstream subs...what do you guys think these compare to? from what it seems they could easily own a 10w3v2 in SQ and SPL (i have access to three of these as well hehe)...
-
for some reason i was always under the impression SS subs were more for sealed apps... i have to say the SQ on an rl-p sealed is superb and it didn't lack SPL in the least bit imo... just one of the many reasons why i might switch to sealed (that and i'm seriously SERIOUSLY going deaf)

oooooooooooooooo i wanna be the first one to buy!
-
word...they look promising. i admit i do wish they were a tad cheaper but they're not absurdly priced at all...if they're better than a gay ass type R, that's good enough for me haha
-
i've always liked kicker, even before i had solos. i've always been fond of the compvr for the price.. maybe someday i'll buy one and put it up against an rl-p in a sealed box
-
as long as i can remember, square solos shine in ported apps...
-
ooooooooooooooooooo i'm down for a repeat customer discount i'm definitely lookin forward to these female doges...one ported 8" in the bedroom son! (but i'm only gonna be sending 300w)
-
^^ ehh...i've got TWO ported rl-p's and my friend's SINGLE SEALED rl-p sounds super SEXY and gets loud to me...(my previous setup consisted of solos so i think i know what 'loud' means..) and what does your setup have anything to do with this? you haven't mentioned your enclosure specs, nor do i care what your bass sounds like outside of your car....your post was so convoluted, what the hell are you trying to say in that last sentence??
-
me too hehe... denim, do you like that design program? every one i've used comes up with slightly different port length numbers so i've always done my chit by hand..
-
i'm so excited! (hope that doesn't sound too gay lol)
-
when will SVC 4 ohmers gonna be ready!?!
-
^^ got pics of your install?
