Personally I like the Allen head screws and loath the Philips on a amp. There fine for a install or two then as soon as you have turned them more then twice they strip out and cause all kinds of problems. And I have always like US Acoustics great stuff for a very fair price in my opinion. I had one of the old school looking amps and it was beat to death and just kept on going.

Why not just get like, 2 fi BL 18's instead of all the lower power subs, and hit just as hard with the same power, and a whole lot more room in the car? That's what I did, I was going to do a wall with 4 15" Sundown SA subs, but just to keep my back seat, I went with 2 sundown teams in a trunk wall, and it's incredible loud on just one crescendo 3500bc, but I am about to get 2 ampere audio 3800's instead, one on each sub.

I read some where that all alpine head units have crossovers that cut off bass at 30hz so they want allow you to hit the low lows. Is this true or just internet BS?

What's more southern then applachian coal country. The actual redneck name was invented from the battles fought here and in the eastern part of Virginia. Our driveway growing up was a creek and we lived on a tobacco farm. We even raised our own food and lived in a house Built over 150 years old complete with well water and 2 seater out house. Obviously we don't live this way anymore but we grew up as country as you can.
-
Wow did I read that right your gonna be running 60.000 watts to these 18's. What kind of amps you got? That should be well into the 160's on music.
-
Well in that case yes you probably wouldn't benefit a thing until you get another matching amp and sub. But when you do get 2 evil's going on 2 sundown 3k's I bet it will be nasty. I'm in the same boat I have 2 sundown team 12's being powered by a crescendo 3500bc and I need a hole lot more power. I'm thinking of selling this crescendo and getting 2 ampere 3500's.
-
Yea I probably wouldn't run .5 either, but if he can run at 1ohm with both subs I would do that, but we don't know which impedance evil he has, so we can't say. Personally when I'm building a system one piece at a time, I always end up getting 2 subs before I get 2 amps. But that's usually what I have planned out so the impedance works out. I usually start wired higher then leave my final impedance at where my max wattage is.
-
Well we consider any place that was in the confederate army a southern place. And what about Florida it's below all those states and redneck as hell.
-
Your right he couldn't my bad, I didn't think that one through, but he could go a tad lower, or higher. .5ohm, or 2 ohm. Either way another sub will give him more DB as long as he doesn't wire the load higher like from 1ohm to a 2 ohm load.
-
If the seller want let you test the stuff I wouldn't mess with it cause you have no way of knowing if it's any good. If he knows it to be a good battery he should have no problem riding to a local parts place and having it checked and doing the deal there. I have used some of my friends stuff from his huge wall builds and it don't last no time they beat that stuff to death. Some of this stuff has a short life span and isn't worth the hassle of buying used unless it's just a incredible deal like 1/5th the price.
-
Well the SSA Evils only come in dual 1, dual 2, so either way he can still wire it to the same impedance, and gain 3 db using a second sub, or wire it lower and gain even more power and cone area. Then later on he can add the second amp he talked about, and be some where around 6db higher, with double the power and double the subs.
-
Yea yea I know I missed the n and hit the m I am using a iPhone and my old ass arthritic fingers misses some times forgive me.
-
Doesn't matter about impedance, I'm saying on the same power adding another speaker will gain him 3db. Yes if he wires it lower assuming he can, that would also help and give him more power, at the expense of efficiency.
-
Well more come area but deffinetly not a huge increase but some.
-
You could go ahead and get the other evil it will be slightly louder on the same power with 2 subs instead of 1.

Yea my nephew just graduated from, Nashville auto and diesel tech school, and he spent 20k on a tool box, and another $20k to fill it, but man is it some nice stuff. Snap on ain't cheap, but you know what they say, good ain't cheap, and cheap ain't no good! It was part of his tuition money.
-
Nice box wish I had better wood working tools but I spent all my funds on steel working tools are car detailing tools.

I'm in the Appalachian mountains, of eastern Kentucky. They make a lot of movie about the next county over, Harlen. The show Justified on FX is based on it. Ashley Judd is from here to, I actually detailed her Range Rover one time when she visited the local college. She even gave me a $100 dollar tip, and it was barely dusty from being pulled behind her motor home.
-
Well I'm in the south so battery's do tend to do better in warmer climates.

Wow your batts only lasted a year? Did you not charge them when not in use or did you just leave them dead cause ours have all lasted for 3-5 years on average. And we used to fish a lot at least 6 months out of the year so they had a lot of cycles on them. The comp battery in my avenger is 3 years old and still has great voltage. And it sets a lot.
