The Altima has 102 cubic foot of interior space and the maxima has 99. I know it's weird you would think the more costly car would offer more space like most car makers.
-
No I didn't forget. The maxima is nissan's top tear model as far as options, but it's not their largest car size wise. The Altima is actually a little bigger but not as nice. I actually worked on both this week and was kind of surprised the Altima was a bigger car. Look it up.

My wife has always wanted one of those cts's. She doesn't care about the v but that's what I would want myself.

I don't blindly support anyone, I base my decisions on what my ears tell me. I'm like you, I have 25 years worth of audio in my closets, garage, barn, and so on. Plus I have many friends that have ran all kinds of stuff over the years. And of all the systems I have ran and heard my 3 12w6V1's on Phoenix gold M100 was my favorite sq setup. It was in a tiny hot hatch with a custom 4 cubic foot box fired at the back glass. Even the 13w7 I have now, doesn't compare, yes it's louder but doesn't have that sweet soft low sound, the 6's had. Maybe it was the AB power or the install, but either way I know what my ears tell me. I also have some of the original kicker L7's that sounded ok to be as loud as they where. And I don't mind paying a little more to support a american made product. You notice I don't own any foreign cars. I have a lot of family in Detroit that work at ford, chevy, and dodge.

Did you ever think maybe your eBay jl is a fake, it happens a lot. And for spl and price I will agree the SSA's are better but for sq I do prefer the W6 but that's just my preference not a fact or anything. And as far as price there are plenty of company's that charge even more. Morel, MMats, UL, Audison, and so on. Maybe it's a southern thing but we like our JL, DD, and sundown.

Yea I know the infinity's suck, but it's better then the stock speakers, and I got them free out of a used car I sold, so it was better then nothing. Out of my whole system the only thing I got any money in, is the subs and amp. But when I do the build in the new car, I'm gonna buy some mids and highs and use the rest. Just waiting on my box guy. That's why I asked when the tweets would be available.

Ow no doudt I wouldn't wear my own car out if I had a company car. I drive a lot of dealer cars myself I run a detail shop and one of the lots gave me permission to use their cars all I wanted. It really surprised me. I was dropping off a car and he had another he wanted done, so I told him I had to run across town, and he said just drive ours you don't have to come back. He said they where used so it didn't matter how much I drove them. He said as long as you got gas drive them all you want. So most weeks my car sets at his dealer in the garage and I bring a car home use it for the day detail it and take it back and pick up another one.

I'm waiting on a box, and alt, so maybe by the time I'm ready to put everything in the new mustang, you will have the tweets done. Any idea what a price on the tweets might be?

I would think a couple of Xcon 12's would fit in a Altima trunk, that's nissan's biggest car. I would build a box to fire backwards pushed right up against where that rear deck comes down. Can the rear speakers be removed and that carpet hanging down? Or is that a metal deck under it coming down.

What are you guys using for tweeters with the evils? Arron do you think I could replace my infinity cappa mids with the evil and keep the tweeters and make it sound better, cause I like the infinity tweeters but the midrange really lacks for volume.
-
That should be plenty of room for 2 10's, you just need a short box, that's long, and wide, to make enough air space. And I have never heard the gcon, but I have heard the xcon's, and they sounded great, especially for the price, there hard to beat for the price. If your going for sq the Incriminator flatline is a good little sq sub to.
-
Yea it's quick, it surprised me when I first test drove it, I thought it was a 2.4 4 cylinder, and I got a surprise when I kicked it down. The engine and the interior is the reason I got it, had it been a 4 banger I wouldn't of wanted it. Honestly didn't think I would like it, but my woman wanted it, and I liked it after I drove it. The newer ones are ten times better then the 08-10 models, they sucked.

I didn't think JL sold a stealth box with a W6 in it, or did you replace the original sub with the w6? And yes their expensive no doudt about that, but most high end things are. When I had my 3 12w6's in 1997 I gave $200 a piece for them, those days are long gone. But man did they ever sound good and get low.
-
And that's why I have the avenger, so my 10 year old doesn't have to squeeze into the back.
-
Here ^ is probably why your JL is underwhelming. And if your using a stealth box, your obviously not using one of their hand built W6-W7 subs, so if it's a W1 its a cheap China sub in a nice box or at best a W3. Try a 12w6 in a sealed box on some proper power, like a MMats wired high for sq, like 4ohm and I bet you will be impressed, I was. But I will say, mine where the first versions, but I doudt the new ones got worse.

Man I'm 6'4" 300lbs and I fit fine. Now the back seat, that's a different story. Apparently, only midget amputees where ever meant to set back there.
-
What all do you have in this system? Front stage? Wire type size? Head unit? Stock alt? Battery? Maybe if we had more info we could figure out why it isn't loud enough.
-
A friend of mine had a truck like that, and we found his subs sounded best, and hit the hardest, pointed straight up, with the port firing to the rear with the box pushed up against the back of the seats, but it could be totally different for your box, subs, and vehicle. But you want be disappointed with that set up in that truck. Those soundqubed HDC15's get nasty loud. My nephew has one of the 4" inch coil subs and it hits like crazy but not the best sounding sub but plenty of spl if that's what your after. And I think SSA sells the exact boxes for those subs unless you want a custom box and not a prefab.
-
Yes it's very similar, your still putting more current through the amp then is recommended, which can cause problems if it ain't one hell of a amp.
-
Yes it's a 2013 Avenger 3.6. And yea I was reprehesive about buying a ford but I really like the new mustang. I got a really good deal on it. It was a left over from 2015 and a friend of mine got me a hell of a deal on it.
-
No it's screwed down and the box is so big it can't move anywhere so there wasn't a need to bolt it down. I had to remove the trunk latch just to get it in there. The battery is under the sub box in a box built for it. I'm actually gonna build a duel ported box for that sub and another W7 when I get a chance I'm always so busy running these businesses and taking care of dogs.
-
Your looking at it as soon as the box is built. My sundowns are going in the new mustang. I sold the old ford and bought the new mustang a few days ago but as soon as I get time and ol boy gets my box done I will post some picks. I am also gonna need a h/o alt for the new car to but I have everything else from the old car.
