Man oh man that's big money! Lol a whole back piece of acrylic. Lol 1/2" thick too!? And ya i realized that now that you mentioned it about plex glass haha. So there is no way to just use a small piece like how I suggested? Would that not be structurally sound for a sub box

Haha you got skills I see. But thanks a lot for all the info you're sharing. I'm definitely gonna try this. BTW are you putting the acrylic on the inside or outside? For example, I'm planning on putting a window on the back of the box, forward firing subs. I'd cut the back piece out of wood, then I'd cut a window and where would I put the acrylic? On the inside of the box or outside and make a trim panel to make it flush

Nice I am also interested in the Xcon. I see you just decided to step up to two 18's. That should be nuts lol.

Where the subsonic filter is set can completely destroy a sub My box was tuned high so I set it roughly in the 11 o'clock area.

Thanks appreciate it .I seal it with 3m foam tape and long screws predrill and hand tighten like a tire 1 screw here and there slowly tightening back and forth so not to fracture the acrylic minimum thickness ive used is 1/2" strong as hell when it etched or sand blasted larger logos looks spectacular when lit l also line the bottom of enclosure with plex mirror and paint the inside flat black .Yeah dude make one adds that wow factor when u show it off .All those builds were a sealed i dont really like how it looks with vented enclosures What kind of screws? The regular ones you'd use to screw your boxes together

I read a lot of great reviews on the amps on their website. But I also read great stuff on their hdc4 lol so I personally will pass. And ya i highly doubt it was user error, because I had it for less than a month up to this point. And I used their amps strapped to push it. And my friend will be doing it. But watching videos on line it looks real simple. But I'd rather he do it first and I watch before I try it myself. Plus with it starting out funky I'd had for my wrong reconing to make it sound even more funky lol. So better to play it safe. But definitely I'll keep you posted. And ya i was looking into psi recone, it looks cool. Might just be cuz of pink star or the fact that a lot of hard hitting videos had psi in it. But my friend had a hook up so I went that route. But I'll definitely make a build log/Keep you posted once I get the subs done. And that's sad to hear those dc's didn't handle. I've never seen any in person but by the videos, DC to me, came off as a rugged grimey bad ass spl sub lol. And they were secretive about their pricing at one point too, so it even added more to their mystique. I would assume being a lvl 3,not really their entry level line, it would have more action than what you experienced

What did you buy from them? Was it multiple items and you seen that the serial numbers were scratched off or something? I've ordered from them a few times, no problem. But I prefer sonics electronics. But recently I've had great experience with audio savings! But their inventory is slacking. But prices and shipping are awesome

150's with two 12's?? Nice. And ya that's the thread. Lol. It wouldn't make the sound out of the box. Unless it was sitting flat on the Magnet, but if I tipped it over so that air could be pushed out the Magnet unobstructed it sounded fine. So that's why I was thinking the Magnet was too close to the wall. I originally had it like 7" away when it was forward firing so I covered that sub cut out, and installed the sub up top to give it 20" distance. And it still did it, I even inverted it lol and no help. I was tripping out, In denial I was thinking maybe it has to break in more lol. It's the damn hdc4 you know what I mean? Hard to find actually user info on em online. The amps....... We're kinda strange. I set it like I would any other amp, gain at like 11 lpf at 9oclok - 11oclock. And it was just really soft. So I'd turn the gain up and it would be loud but I'd think, na this can't be right. I'm at 2oclock on the gain with the bass boost at like 8 o'clock. And we'll long story short, I found out that I'd have to set my lpf pretty high to get the out put I'd like. I had it set between 12oclocl and 1 o'clock. Like wth is that all about? That was also what made me question the amp before the sub. I was like maybe the amp is sending it too high of a note. Causing it to sound crappy . Lol. How about you, you got experience with the amps and also if you do, where is your lpf at? And I'm going with a custom spl dean recone for the hdc4. I was looking at a zcon but this route is way cheaper lol and I wouldn't feel like a complete loss

Niiice setup. Like those matching re's. Ya it ducked that the coil shifted on mines. I would think the top model would be high endurance and we'll built. I went with spl dean because a buddy of mines hooked it up and it would be cheaper than an hdc4 recone, shipped. Plus too I was already let down and didn't wanna get even more aggravated of the recone didn't work either lol. Was looking at the zcon but decided to stay with soundqubed and now look what happened. But maybe it's a blessing in disguise because now I get to experience spldean. And my enclosures was recommended by someone who heavily reps soundqubed so I believe he knows what he was talking bout. When it made this noises I decided to go the old fashion route and tune lower in a bigger box (everyone says the hdc4 likes high tuning) I even spoke with c. S. On what they recommend and made a box off of that. Thought it was my amps so I picked up a taramps to push it. Same thing. In my other thread, in soundqubed section, I posted a video of the sun making the noises

It would make a weird knocking noise on certain notes. I'm guessing higher frequency notes. For example candy's hop by 50 cent. That whole bass note throughout the song it sounded like ass. Low notes no problem. But those notes, another story. And electrical is big three kinetik hc2400 as starter and hc1800 as backup. Big three. I assumed it was the amp and my electrical so I got me a taramps 2500 2ohm version because my sub was a dual 1. Same thing. Box was from 4 - 5cubes. Going off of black nastys recommendations.

Awesome we saw your order come through too! We will get it converted and hopefully shipped out today!Def share the install once you get it all buttoned up, would love to see it. Absolutely ,I have the HDS312 install almost finished in my 08 crossfire pic and complete review on your site and amazon as well .Your subs are specacular and the price (OMG) almost to good to be true. Previous sub Fi Q12 $350 plus (2012) slamed Soundqubed HDS312 $160 slams so much harder / better SQ also. I think more people not just hard core bass heads need to know you can get high end equipment at these prices (unbelievable !!) More orders from me real soonWish I had this experience Sorry to hear you didnt, may I ask what happened ? If you dont mind,. Soundqubed has been great to me as well as those I reasearch before buying Soundqubed products. Everything i've ordered was above expectations even the entry HDS210 .I did however have bad experiences with Fi And DC (not company bashing here) witch we know are far more expensive and in my case did the bear minimum to help when I paid $400 plus per sub, and then for to them tell me ship back a 45lbs sub on my dime and they would get around to in 4-8 weeks by the way to over a month to recieve sub ,played for about a month before issues started on an under powered (500 rms) Q12, now I can say the HDS210 is coming up on 1 month play time and seems to get louder and deeper every day as it breaks in this sub cost $95 shipped rated 600rms how can I not be overjoyed as my previous post (again not company bashing here) paid 4x the price For Q and had far far different experienceDon't get me wrong. Their customer service is awesome. They communicated with me for a month, everyday, seeing how our time zone differences, I could only respond when I guess their about to close. No doubt awesome customer service and genuine concern. I never once felt they tried to brush me off or imply it's my fault. And the price is great! (besides shipping, but that's due to me living in hawaii) But my gripe is that I ordered an hdc4 15 and It was giving me trouble so I changed the box like 5 times. Different tuning and different sizing. And I took it to a friend he looked at it. Tapped it, then center between the surround and the dust cap he tapped it and it made a ping noise. And he quickly identified that it was a shifted coil / uneven coil in a spot. So I was bummed out seeing how I brought their top of the line model and it had poor craftsmanship. =/ It was powered off of two sq1200.1 strapped. Long story short I am gonna go with a spldean custom recone. Yes they wanted to help by first offering to take a look at it when I first told them bout my problem. But that's way too much money for me shipping it from Hawaii and probably shipping it back. But they really showed concerned when I said It was an shifted coil, said to send them the soft parts but idk, if it would be worth putting even more money into this company

I've heard stories like this before...

Sonic is great. Customer service is top notch and pricing is great. Shipping sucks to Hawaii though. Online car stereo is good too. I ordered a few things but I once called them to inquire about a product and had questions and the person, I felt, was very rude and pushy.

Unfortunately taping on the cone will not tell us if the coil was jigged up incorrectly. However if it is we will/would gladly take care of. Every single woofer is tested before it leaves this facility and we would not intentionally send off an item with poor workmanship or faulty parts. In the instance that this does happen we have a 2-year manufacture defect warranty to help cover you. Our company isn't based off selling you a product and moving on to the next guy. We are in this industry because we love what we do, and who we do it for. Which is you guys. WI have never heard a sound make a metal ping noise ever. So that's a very big red flag. I don't think there's any explanation to that other than something is up. Ive already gutted the soft parts so idk how you'd be able to work with that within your warranty program

Ok so I made a few boxes for my hdc4 and it sounded good except on a particular note. I believe it was a higher frequency seeing as how I still hit the lows and moved air fine. If you listen to "candy shop by 50 cent. It's that bass note through out the song. My sub makes noises like a knocking noise. I can hear in the port and I can hear it when I listen to the sub. Any ways I thought it was the tuning so I made quite a few boxes but had same results or less noticeable, but still there results. I'd listen to it free air and it sounded fine. I even switched the subs to a different brand and it didn't make that noise. So I was assuming it was the speaker. But then I tried it with the candy shop song because when I tried it free air I kept forgetting what songs it did it on and sure enough, I had the sub on my arm rest/center console, and it made the noise! I was like wtf. But as I tilted the sub it went away slightly, so I layed it down, so there was no obstruction to the air coming out the motor. And it was fine! I put my hand over the hole and it made the noise. So I'm thinking my sub is mounted too close to the back wall. My box is 15" deep gross, and I have my sub forward firing, so the distance between the wall and sub is like 5.75" I emailed soundqubed and they said needs to be a minimum of 6" away, so I'm gonna double baffle it witch will put me at 6.5" away. Do you think that will make a difference? Is this the kind of effect being too close to a wall have? Now that I think about it, I haven't really build a box this skinny lol. Maybe the same height but depth would he like 2 ft. Lol. Hope to hear some inputs from you guys.
