I'M ON MY COMP PLAYING AROUND WITH MY BASS BOX PROGRAM ...DESIGNING BOXES FOR XXX AND BRAHMA SUBS. MY GOAL IS TAKE A SUB AND SEE IF HAS THE POTENTIAL TO HIT AT LEAST 145DB's BEWTWEEN 25 TO 30HZ I THINK ITS POSSIBLE...CONSIDERING THAT I'VE MANAGEDTO HAVE A TWO 10XXX HIT 139DB @ 26HZ...AND I'M NOT SURE IF THIS ACTUALY HAPPENS BUT MY PROGRAM SAID ITS ONLY USING .18IN OF XMAX OUT OF A POSSIBLE 1.26IN ONE WAY XMAX....THATS IMPRESSIVE FOR TWO 10XXX. THE BOX I MADE UP IS 2.41CUFT. EXTERNAL AND 1.77CUFT. INTERNAL... THE PORT IS TUNED TO 25.84HZ 11.5H x 1.5w x 40D YES THE BOX IS A TRANSMISSION LINE THATS WHY THE PORT IS SO LONG..ITS BROKEN UP INSIDE THE BOX TO FILTER OUT THE UPPER FREQ. SO WHEN THE BASS FINALLY COMES OUT ITS VERY DEEP AND FULL. I PUT A SUPPLY POWER OF 1000W...AND THE SUBS STAY LINEAR DOWN TO 5HZ...THATS COOL 80 AGAIN JUST MESSIN AROUND WITH DIFFERENT DESIGNS

ok i'll put alittle spin on this....what about a small box with a long port...i've seen that be for...and the sound is different

WOW THATS COOL......HEY TIRE ME AND U USE THE SAME PROGRAM BUT TRY THIS.....HOW ABOUT PUTTING THE 10'S IN A BANDPASS MAKE THE BOX 13D x 13H x 36W THE SUBS ARE FACING EACH OTHER THE BAFFLE THE WOOFER IS MOUNTED HAS 2 BE 9INCHES FRON THE WALL AND THE PORT 7 x 3 x 7D ITS JUST AN IDEA,,,,PUNCH IT IN YOUR PROGRAM AND SEE WHAT COMES UP...I DID THIS WAY THE XMAX CAN BE MORE CONTROLED AND DENIM CAN PUT 500W TO IT 80 JUST GIVING IDEAS

i'm going say one word cancelation... with the port going thru the armrest and the sub playing in the trunk u will not get good results. if your up 4 ideas how about a transmission line box if your not familiar with that kind of box let me know and i'll post the link so u can take look ...and for anybody else that not familiar with transmission line boxes. 80 always try 2 lend a helping hand

hmmmm well being that the more air you move the more bass created 2 find this out take the cone area in cubic inches and multiply it by the xmax and the total is the amount of air being displace in cubic inches for example: jl audio 13w7 cone area is 107.5cu.in xmax-- 1.25in total air displacement 134.375 brahma 15 cone area is 116.1(kind of small 4 a 15 dont ya think) xmax--1.10 total air displacement 127.71 hmm this interesting.....13w7 move alittle more air than the brahma 15...but the human ear will not notice it....but in actualty the brahma 15 should move move given the same power as the 13w7 due to having a slightly larger cone area...but this is all numbers crunching i would have to hear these two against each other.

u know what i'm glad u mentioned that...because i'm getting ready 2 put something in my mazda millenia...i'm thinking 2 15's or 3 10's i'm undecided...i need help with this....lol ok ok ok im going to be honest my goal is smoke my friend who hitting 153db's with 2 13w7...i want to hit atleast the same if not better..with a sub other than w7's

yes it did........it got to the pont now i cant sit in his car......but i told be4 i designed the box that i will make so that he can have his speakers 4 along time....and its been about 2years now and his speakers play very well...havent blown one yet 80 hey denim i still got th specs 4 that box...oh did i mentions all this in in my friends caddy deville...

wow that is good work....i use 2 build boxes and now i design them and have someone else build it. 80 my best design was 4 12inch rf hx2's in a 4th order bandpass being powered by a bd1500@ .5ohms (yes the amp was frying full course meals but if u put a decent fan it will run for a good hour) on the dash it hit 152db's playing EMINEM Ass like that

what rf should do is bring back the 5oom...that amp was the shyt back in 95. 80

THIS YEAR I WILL BE PUTING A SYSTEM IN MY 95 MAZDA MILLY...AND I WAS WONDER IF I CAN GET SOME OPINIONS AS TO WHICH SUB WOULD U THINK ..SOUNDS GOOD IN A 4TH ORDER BANDPASS 4 THOSE WHO DONT KNOW WHAT THAT IS...ITS THE SPEAKER PLAYIN FROM A SEALED CHAMBER INTO A PORTED CHAMBER 80

well for the 8w7 the xmax is .75inches.....the 10w7 is .90inches...the 12w7 is 1.15inches...and the 13w7 is 1.25inches...i heard all the of them and they are good speakers with nice xmax but personally i would like to someone make a 10inch woofer that can rival a decent 15inch woofer.....if anybody know of one let me know...i believe 10's put out more accurate bass...if anybody dont think so...please let me know maybe i havent heard everything... 80 always looking 4 new ideas

actually u can......but it depends on the power and how much of the xmx your using......
