lol. I'd assume there to be about 1300 pages worth of threads and hundreds worth of facebook post as to why. I'd avoid asking that question all together really. Just get the recone, and you'll be set ok. Long story short, to answer your question directly, from the buildhouse, it's because of cheap korean amplifiers. Please, let's just leave it at that.

I guess you could band aid. remove all current solder/glue, clean up, then patch it back together.

Recone. I tried "fixing" it with the Evil. Didn't work lol.

So by saying after seeing a few pictures, you literally mean only two, both from the same person, lol. Either he is the only person to have bouthen foad leads from fi, or no one else is burning them up but this guy. Since the foad design change, I have personally not seen another case.

What do you think this electrical could support?
Sencheezy replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'd say safely, something like an BC5500 at 1 ohm, MAYbe 1/2 ohm. You probably could burp an 8k amp though. -
awesome!

Hey, be careful with this recone ok. It has already been broughton attention to Mark from Zack when we were all at world finals. Basically, the spiders seem to be shorter. As you can see. So when under high excusurion, the leads and touch the basket which could cause a short. just an heads up.- 99 replies

The only two images I could find in google? Can you please share the other images you found?

fi would be better quality wise, but will take much more time. Especially if you're sending it in. Psi will have less quality, still playable, but you will have faster response time. so pick which one you want.

For anyone whom wants a demo. I will be in Michigan this Weekend. The plan is to have a car meet of roughly ten or so people. Let me know if you want the details!

Now you have space to do 24 10s! -
I had one like this. Resolution was to remove dustcap, sand down the glue, re solder the connection from tinsel lead to coil lead, glue it back down, fix.

Ok, so I know that doing this is generally wrong, frowned upon, and "ghetto" for the lack of better term. But my question is this. Is there a "right" way to do this, or "proper" way to do so. If so, what equipment should be used. Any product recommendations? For those not understanding what I'm referring to, is when people have, generally, weather proof PA Speakers mounted externally of their vehicles, playing music. Again, please skip the whole, "this is wrong and retarded" phase, and just provide some good advice. And no, don't do it, isn't the advice I'm looking for lol. So from experience, what I have seen people use is those PA speakers, that are mounted to cop cars, and they splice those into an car audio amplifier, and the horns are facing downward. For whatever is recommended, I know that the speaker itself has to be waterproof, something like marine speakers. I don't want to use marine speakers as they don't, generally, have the same output as an PA Horn, tho more clarity. Anyways, any advice would be great!

Hmm, great idea! And great point, transportation haha. I suppose I could use the rack mount on top of my vehicle. But this would require more labor to build everything together. But would make for a great winter project. I'll keep that in mind as I didn't event think about that. Googling now!

Hey, thanks. Ok, so how did the PA speakers sound musically? Like, compared to traditional in car 6.5"s for example. Did it sound hollow and echoe'y? OMG! 48 pair really!? So 96 6x9's!? I just couldn't imagine haha. So since this work was done in the history, if you was to do this work again, today, what equipment would you go with? A shit ton of marine 6x9s again, or maybe just a few PA speakers, or any other methods?
