Difference Between Different Speaker Configurations
Sencheezy posted a topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have always wonder this, exactly what is the difference between these different speaker configurations. I want to know the difference, well the reason behind the following. Two-Way speaker Three-Way speaker Four-Way speaker Would like to know the Purpose, Pros/Cons of said above. Also, would appreciate some shed of light comparing this/these to an active or passive setup. For example, I know some people decide to buy a woofer for midbass/midrange purposes and company it with a tweeter. Ok, that makes sense to me. So in essense, is that what a "Two-Way" speaker is trying to accomplish? Taking that idea, do I apply the same principle for Three-Way and Four way? Where as a Three-Way will try to mimmick a woofer, midrange and tweeter combo? And IDK WTF is a Four-Way trying to accomplish lol, I just know I have seen them around. In advance I do apologize if this as already been discussed. -
I believe your doing a great thing here with all of the good intentions as I consider ALL of SSA to more of a family thing vs just business. I say that in regards to those supporting members. But for sure man,

Took a TEN hour drive from nashville to dallas and BTL or PA3000bd got warm either should say something about Hand built woofers EH?

Difference Between Different Speaker Configurations

Thank you so much stef! Wow, you just cleared up just about everything for sure man. I mean, yeah, that does make sence to split up the spectrum, but surely the manufacture does that in some kind of way withing those Multi-way speakers right? If you look at a coaxial speaker, you'll likely see a woofer and a tweeter in the center, and it'll have some basic crossover setup in there. I think for the most part the crossover setup would be similar to: 0hz - 1000hz goes to woofer, 1000hz+ goes to tweeter. I just made up those numbers, but you get the idea. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... Just curious to why people would avoid that vs going seperate speakers for seperate duties when you could get in all in one package, but once you mentioned the flexiblity of spreading out the audio specturm for each person it makes sense now. -

Difference Between Different Speaker Configurations

Well, with a little bing searching, I was able to find this article (http://www.ehow.com/about_5495319_difference-amp-threeway-car-speakers.html) which does help me better understand the difference between a speaker's configuration. So I guess I really just need some insight on the pros/cons of multi-speaker setup vs. speaker that are already configured with a built-in crossover. Obviously some pros would be space saving, ease of installation, but how about sound quality and other factors that are involved with a properly configured mobile audio experience? Here is what the article states: Car audio systems use full-range speakers to distribute the widest possible sound frequency spectrum, within a limited space. Two-way and three-way speakers, called coaxial and triaxial respectively, are the standard speaker types able to accurately reproduce full range sound. Proper placement, space acoustics, speaker quality, amplifier and frequency crossover type all contribute to sound quality.Related Searches: Two-Way Coaxial Two-way coaxial speakers, the more popular choice, consist of a woofer and tweeter. The woofer reproduces bass and mid-range frequencies, while the tweeter reproduces high-mid and high frequencies. Coaxial speakers are integrated units, with the woofer comprising the speaker frame and mount area, and the tweeter suspended on an inner frame across the woofer. The individual speakers are tuned to accept isolated frequencies, which are filtered to the speakers by an electronic or mechanical frequency crossover--usually built into the speaker cone or frame. Three-Way Coaxial Three-way triaxial speakers feature the same integrated construction, but add an additional speaker, smaller than the woofer and larger than the tweeter, to handle isolated mid-range frequencies. Triaxial speakers are equipped to reproduce the full audio spectrum more efficiently, since the frequencies are now split into three sections, with dedicated speakers handling each frequency group. Component Speakers Two and three-way component speaker systems are installed in high-end audio systems. Component systems use separate speakers, one for each frequency range, rather than integrated units. These systems are difficult to install, as they require creation of mounting and sound output areas, which means cutting up the vehicle. They also require external crossovers, and the consequent extra wiring can be tricky. Component systems offer the advantage of custom speaker placement for optimum sound quality; bass speakers are mounted close to the floor, the mid-range somewhere above and tweeters pointing toward shoulder or ear level. Speaker Crossovers Speaker crossovers filter frequency groups within the audible spectrum. In a two-way system, the crossover splits the frequencies into lows and highs. In a three-way system, the frequencies are split into lows, mids, and highs. Crossovers are either mechanical, where the speaker cone design itself limits and isolates frequencies; or electronic, where a circuit filters and isolates frequencies electronically, sending the signals to individual speakers. In component speaker systems, the amplifier may have the crossover built in, or use single or multiple units . Frequency Response and Sound Typical audible frequencies are within 30Hz to 22kHz. Low frequencies, toward the 30Hz end, are felt more than heard. High frequencies, toward the 22KHz end, come across as high-end hiss. Speakers are rated in ability to handle a range of frequencies, with specifications available from the audio dealer or manufacturer's website. Since all full-range speakers are designed to handle similar frequency ranges, the real question is sound. Although three-way speakers are more efficient in theory, a two-way speaker, which handles the same frequencies, is also designed to be efficient. Variables and limitations in speaker placement and acoustic properties of space, particularly in vehicles, play a huge role in overall sound quality -
I like this! Post more pics now!

Deals will be posted at random times on random days. Eventually, there will be no email warning, it will be up to the user to check the Store "Outrageous Deal" page for times and dates. So how long will these Random Outrageous Deals continue, I understand you said they will end shortly if sales don't pickup up, but would this potentially become a normal thing, or just for the holidays kinda thing? Whether sales improve or stay the same, will these sales at least continue through this holiday season? That would be mighty kind of you sir

OMG WTF!! are those deals that are expired, were they real? Is this what happen on Black Friday that you told us to look out for?? Amazing, now I see its worth digging around for a little bit. But why today??? Nobody gets paid till the weekend This is no bueno for ppl who don't get paid during the week

Haven't gotten it on the site yet - really hoping to have some time over the holidays. Maybe I'll post it up here first? Been patiently waiting for soooo long now 8 months or so and I weally weally wna see what you do before making any decissions.

In 2005 I drove a new Civic EX Sedan off the dealer's lot. I'd never heard of aftermarket acoustical treatments for cars, but within a day or two I realized I had a big noise problem. I couldn't talk on the phone and could barely hear the factory sound system. Like most people, my first attempt was to upgrade the stereo in an attempt to overpower the noise. The original SDS began as an attempt to figure out what products to use in my Civic. It has also served as a test bed for almost every product on the market. It also taught me that the recommended "layer on the vibration damper" treatment was a terrible way to reduce noise. I decided to rip everything out and start fresh using the treatments I sell. Aaron can tell you about this stage of the product since he helped. Here's what came out: I would have been better off buying a replacement but couldn't bring myself to pass that mess off on to someone else. I'd guess it took a solid month's labor, spread out over the fall and winter to get back to stock. I'm almost done. I've been documenting the installation and will be posting the project on my Web site. This is actually why I've been so far behind on e-mails for the past month or so. Trunk's done. Roof's done. Front doors are done. Carpet went back in last night. All that's left is the back seat platform and rear doors. Rear deck will have to wait since I'll be mounting a sub IB there and will need to have the rear glass removed to do it. Anyway, yes, I'm familiar with 7th gen Civics. I hung CCF and MLV on the inner and outer front door skins, but have mids mounted in them. The inner skin layer is more important for noise reduction since a lot of noise enters the doors from the top, sides and bottom. The outer skin layer blocks a little more noise but I installed it to make it harder to hear the speakers from outside the car. Hello, I'm having trouble finding the project you mentioned above in your website. Any info on this as I am looking forward to seeing how you do things in your vehicle.

Update?

Jesus bro, does it still close properly? Or are they any gaps or even bents along the edges?

So sexy man, just out of curiosity, could you tell us like, a estimate on everything? lol Like, how much stock, and then how much has been invested if it wasn't for the sponsers.

Lol, listen to what they say...

Not to start any conspiracy theories or anything like that, I know the whole NWO is something many people feel strongly against, and are strongly for. For those people who are against, what I am about to provide is no theory, these videos are proof of what has been in the planning for decades. My only intention creating this post is to simply try to awaken those, scratch that, is to just try to open the minds of those disbelievers. I am scarred for our future, even though I am only 22, simply because of where we are going as a human species. Please, I only ask for you to do some research, and become wealthy in knowledge outside the school books so that when something very terrible happens, and it will, at least you knew or had some idea what is really going on behind the puppets. On with the videos, these are just a few, very few videos that I pray you will watch and just try to see and look from a different perception than your use to. I am not some random bum coo coo head that thinks the world is coming to an end lol. I am in my 3rd in college and have a decent head on my shoulder. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheAlexJonesChannel#p/u/24/le7jP5uj4go http://www.youtube.com/user/TheAlexJonesChannel#p/u/16/FQpbTfVXC1E And the following video that will probably be taken down soon is proof of these lighting systems being at their final stage and ready for market The following video is a long 2 1/2 hour long video but should be watched at your leisure, very important information here that is dumbed down enough for anybody to understand what is going on. http://www.youtube.com/user/TZMOfficialChannel#p/u/2/EewGMBOB4Gg There is a lot more information out there that is published and documented available to the public but they rely on us to not look. Please reply as I am very passionate about our future and will do anything to just try to make you think, even a little bit, because once you open your mind, and try at least understand where some of us are coming from, you will start to care as well.

I am glad to see somebody also that is aware of whats happening, all those points you have made are very valid and there is somebody that is pulling the strings. But its not the government, its not the NWO, you have to look deeper then that. Its not just a bunch of crazy loonies with conspiracy's for days. It it the bankers that control everything. It is the bankers who are pulling the strings, EVERthing else and everybody else are just puppets. Adrian, I highly recommend for you to watch any and if possible, all of the Zeitgeist movies. The points that you made earlier weren't listed here simple because the list would be too long. Like, the xbox kinnect, used to scan faces, so if your a wanted felon, and your face scan goes through and brings up a flashing red light in front of somebody computer system, best believe somebody will be knocking at your door. Or how about all of your rights taken away because you are consider without reason needed to be provided a terrorist? Or how about the US selling arms to Mexico, or how about that North American Currency that is already developed? Lets not start on 9/11 or peal harbor or kennedy, orrr many other leaders and major events that all have a cover up story. History repeats itself.

Yeah, trying to stop the spread of something to help save lives sounds terrible. Why would anybody want to do that? Vaccines isn't the only issue here, it is a multiple levels, from company selling your info rights to the local police department to set up speed traps using your gps to local governments in Colorado practicing civil riot policies. But like others have said, many have attempted to open minds, with little to no results. I have a very open mind, so it wasn't hard for me to hear what others have to say. But I do realize the many reason why people are too stupid or too afraid or too patriotic to try and think outside of the box. But somebody showed me that once, and, if it worked on me, surely it can work with others, even if it is just a 20 or 30 percent chance to try and convince somebody else to read between the lines.

I really don't understand this "mehhhhhhh"?

wow.... See, theres a lot that I don't know. And this is one of them lol. Very interesting though... Two sides to every story. lol I know this is going to sound crazy but, Alex Jones has a video on his channel that can better explain how I feel about them. Please watch the following video. Studies have proven that there are no significant signs until the third generation of offspring.
