Wow! Nice build man! I love the way you cleaned out the vehicle first also, great job! Looks really loud. I know 2 12" dcons got silly loud, I could only imagine 6 15s

Do you have the flyer? Or the date/time information? -
wow, nice!

Well, go take measurements. Seems to me the easiest thing to do. I would then simply wait to build a new box for the four 12s. No sense in using a box for less than 30 days.

the word "better" will change from every person. If you can fit the ported option, I would do that.

Here is a link that might be able to give you a starting point. http://www.soundsolu...ation/icon.html I would choese 3/4" mdf that can be found at any hardware store. Generally, I would install in the largest enclosure I could fit, within the recommended listings of course. You should tune to whatever is your prefrence and your goal. I find 34hz best for daily. If you like ultra lows, maybe a 30hz tune. If your going for numbers, well you'll most likely be tune much higher, above 40hz normally. And I don't know how to answer your "etc." question lol

So, something that a lot of people of mix feelings about, a distance test. Though it is not 100% way of telling how good/bad the sound is, it should be able to give you guys an idea. Overall, I could not be any happier. So, here is my first distance test. With minor eqing.

Could you pass some knowledge on? Or should I just look for the thread on setting gains. Do you use an o-scope? Its something that seems to been beat to death If you try to find a thread on said topic, you will see about 26 of them in the past 2 months lol I would suggest just pick a familiar song, that has the same level as the majority of the songs that you play. And adjust by ear.

That box is an amazing install. Also, I wouldn't use a dmm or dd1 for tuning the gains.

Yeah, that doesn't seem like a fair comparison to me.

Gain setting "dilema" - Drop some knowledge on me
Sencheezy replied to ludachris5150's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Great, you don't need it. Great, then you haven't already wasted money on it. Don't. No problem, it wouldn't help you anyways. What? You set the output of the amplifier to 2V? They were telling you to set the input sensitivity to the 2V setting....not that that info is necessarily "correct" anyways. You would set it based on Ohms Law, if you were using the DMM method....which isn't necessary. But even then if you are using a 0db test tone you will end up unhappy with the results, more than likely. Best to just set it by ear. Neither, set it by ear. If you absolutely feel you must use a DMM to set the gain, then you would set it according to Ohms Law... sqrt(Power*Impedance) = Voltage But, see above. 200, or leave the DMM in the toolbox and set it by ear. All this plus setting it by EAR! prob the best gain setting response I've ever heard haha, nice. -
Nice equipment! I am myself running Zalph speakers in my vehicle. They sound AMAZing!! haha, i'm tuned in to see your results as I would never try to construct my crossover lol

When you begin to test and see how far you can push these new platforms, will you be starting off BIG, or small?

Yes, my current box is fine, just too large is all, so my playable bandwith is a little on the small side. I just have too much power for such a large enclosure is all. New box will work much better.
