Hello all, New to the forums! My name is chris, I'm from Racine, WI. Awaiting my first FI BL 15 since August 22. I'm getting excited approaching the one month mark. I designed a 5 cuft3 all kerfed ported enclosure and have a hifonics x14 1500.1d "wanted to test this new series" amp 1/0 gauge wire ran to the back and big three upgrade. Gauge dragon volt meter. Will post pics and eventually video of the setup when it's complete based on curiosity.

hifonics x14 x2200.1d series
Christophe Willis posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The new series x14 hifonics amps have been out for almost a year from what I've seen online with very few reviews... I have an fi bl 15 on the way estimated "wed 24th" and picked up a x14 1500.1d then later returned it because the bl can take much more power if properly tuned. Some say you can tell how powerful the amp actually is by the guts or fuses, to me it seems almost in comparison with the high end amplifiers. And any information or opinions on this subject would be greatly appreciated. The high end amplifiers put me out of my price range for the build reason I ask. -

The bl's suspension is so stiff first thought. The subwoofer is huge ! Everything I could have ever asked for. I had 4 tens re audios on 1200 rms. this is my first time buying a high end subwoofer and it was worth every penny. I made sure the box was completely to spec and I have only good things to day about the hifonics amp as well. Although I have never heard the output of a high end amp. I need to look more on fine tuning the amp. It's awesome was well worth the 32 day wait !

I bought a yellow top at farm and fleet for 150$ on Sale. After the big three it brought my voltage up considerably. My fi bl 15 is suppose to be here tomorrow then I'll be able to see if an upgrade or addition is required. Will report back! -

I see what you mean, I'm glad I didn't make an account. Do you use a same model/brand second battery or something like this? I know capacitors are worthless but 100 farad battary? http://www.amazon.com/Kinetik-HC600-Watt-Power-Battery/dp/B000LUBQ4I -

Reason I said this is because both amps have 4 gauge wire connected to the terminals. Bunch of guys were ragging on the new series hifonics over on the SMD. http://www.*****.com/board/topic/184080-hifonics-brutus-x22001d/ -

Thanks man ! Just installed a dragon gauge volt meter last. It's accurate and looks good too. 20$ on ebay. Would you say dropping below 13 volts is needing a second battery? I have 4 10's on 1200 rms and my volts need never go less than 13.5 v. -

Sounds about right. Thanks for the reply. I have a big three upgrade, yellow top under the hood. And my trailblazer alternator puts out 150 amps. Should be sufficient -
45 degree cut designs New hifonics x2200.1d came today as well

I don't understand? Haha. Should've goldenThanks for the nice comments ! I drive a 2003 chevy trailblazer ls with 20 inch SS aftermarket wheels. Will post pics and video this week! Just ordered tee nuts and bolts online. My hardware stores charge arm and a leg. I spent the same amount but got 50/25 pc. After receiving this msg from fi. We have RMS ratings for good reason, some people can run significantly more power and never have an issue. The key is to make sure your subsonic filter is set 2-3Hz below the port tuning frequency of the enclosure, no bass boost, and don't clip the amplifier. The subsonic filter acts as a brake for the moving assembly below the port tuning frequency. Once you drop below the port tuning frequency of the enclosure the port no longer works, it no longer resonates, and your cone excursion goes up exponentially. It's extremely critical to set the subsonic filter up correctly and make sure the signal is clean or you will run into issues. I decided to return my hifonics x14 1500.1d and went with the hifonics x2200.1d. The 1500.1d had (2) 50 amp fuses and just 700 watts more the 2200 uses (2) 100 amp fuses. And only the 2600 in the series has a 0 gauge wire input. Sounds Strang but I'm willing to try it out I can always ship it back to amazon. I wanted a better amp like sq or dc sundown but the pricing would carry me outside my budget. What do you guys think?

I've got an 03 trailblazer. It's perfect for car audio in so many ways. The cargo area can fit anything that your expecting to build and still seat passengers. Big three was an easy upgrade even though the altenator isn't on the the top like most vehicles. wire harness goes right through to the cab for 0/1 gauge power wire running. Inline 6 4.2L gets the job down. I have for tens in 8 cuft box. Below the window line. My current setup "waiting on the fi bl 15 since Aug 22nd. And built a 5 cu ft box all kerf porting can't wait !!

Looks great what a difference paint can make, nice rims too. Do you have an upgraded altenator?
