Please don't bump your own thread. Also I know it says up there not to choose a different sub, but to have 2500 watts on tap on those 600 watt subs you will have puff the magic dragon making an appearance. I had the generation before the HDS200s and on about 1500 watts they were hating life and didn't exactly last for as long as you would think. Something like the HDS315s would be a MUCH better match for not a a lot more cash, or since space isn't an issue a 3rd 15 would be much better. But they are never going to see 2500, also i use gain control to i know my limits(i know poeple say dont use them, but do because i taxi around my little girl lol) Also thats before rise and voltage drop. I dont do burps and music is dynamic so power varies most they would see would maybe 1800 or so. I was told that with clean power by DJ they will handle 1k each and I know i can gain some driver control with going alittle smaller on the enclosure. You cannot count on rise due to the fact that impedance can drop or rise depending on the frequency/box. So you should never count on rise unless its a one frequency controlled burp where you know the variables. A smaller box only allows for mechanical control, not thermal. they may be able to handle 1,000 watts for short periods of time but contentiously? Seriously doubtful from a 2.5" coil, the only way I could see that being possible if it were a high inductance woofer. But honestly I would not bank on that, I'd rather spend slightly more (~$100) for a driver more suited to the power you have than having to completely trash a woofer and buy a whole new driver. that is true, i havnt really understood the whole imp dip yet, but as above i dont bull dog my systems daily, 1/4 - 1/2 power during my rides to work and around town. the longest ride in town really is like 7 mins lol. it only takes like 10 maybe 12-13 mins to drive from one side of town to the other lol

Im planning on doing a very budget build for my santa fe. Space isnt a issue for what i want i have plenty of room. Im looking to do a build with 2 Hds200 15's and will have about 2500watts on tap & before rise & voltage drop(dont feed me the go to a different sub stuff please). I looked at the SQ website but i just gives a vague information on the enclosure sizes for the subs, also the port info is given in slot ports. Im just trying to gather info for these subs and determine a good size enclosure for them as well as the port(in aeros). Any info that you guys have for them or experience with them is much appreciated. What im aiming for is a good mix of daily and SPL, more leaning toward the SPL side which is why i tune around 37hz usually(its my medium of the 2). What i have came up with so far is this, you may critique me if you like: 2 Hds200 15's Soundstream Ta1.3k wired to 1ohm(rated 2500) Enclosure Dimensions: 40-L x 21-H x 20-D 8.04 cubes internal gross vol Subs Displacement- Hds215 = .11ea (.22 total for 2) Aero Port Displacement- 1-10" aero @ 12" = .55 Internal Cubes Net(after subs & port) - 7.27 1-10" Aero = 78.5 sqin of port Roughly 10.797 Sq-inches of port per cube Cubes Net Per Sub - 3.635 Tune - 37hz

That's what I was thinking but he said "don't feed me that get a different sub stuff" lol.. Should of probably went with the hdc3 15. Daily i dont turn mine up more then 1/4-1/2 power, it annoys me to drive at anymore than that( i know that sounds bad lol)... The only time they would see 1k would be a comp and it would be no more then 1min :30secs to do my runs. Other then that no more then a 1/4-1/2. And 90% of the time i have my little girl with me so its not on at all. But trust me i do know what your saying, and i wasnt trying to be d*ck in any of these post also

So what is exacatly ideal for pair of Hds2-15's? Im looking at running a pair on about 2500rms(before rise and voltage drop, so they probably wont see but maybe 800 or so each). I have plenty of room but dont where to aim as far as net enclosure size goes per driver, and how much port they like(IN AERO PORTS). I am aiming for a daily/spl mixed box, i tune around 37hz so it gives me a good medium of the 2. Any input would be great. Thanks,

Any updates on how they subs perform? -
Hey guys im not sure how many hyundai santa fe's are out there but im looking at getting wire. Is there a easy place in the fire wall the i can run my wire through? Im going to be doing 4 full runs(2 power & 2 ground front batt to back bank). thanks
