  1. So we had our Iasca show Saturday, and i ended up doing a 145.8 legal on the dash(Iasca style). For most of yal thats not really loud, But im happy with it and very impressed with what it did given the money i have in it. Also given my port is nothing more but a regular concrete sonotube, no fiberglass, no flare, and nothing bracing it. 1 DC XL-18 M1 - Dual 1 Shark 2500d @ .5ohm daily 1-Run Bullz Audio 1/0 Ofc 2 Agm's Stock 90a Alt $430 in it

DC XL 18 M1 Enclosure Help

i tried, well wrote him and the DC page on facebook but got no reply
  3. Ok so i have recently traded and got a DC XL-18 M1, im not familiar with subs(never ran a DC). Im trying to come with with a good enclosure and will be using aeroports. (<- Saves me some hatch space for stuff) I did see that the DC site says 5.5 cf net for the 18's, but im not sure how to determine how much port i would need for it. My goal is for Daily with good SPL. Really i want it be loud lol. I tune at 40hz because it gives me MY perfect medium of daily and SPL(Thats just me) for the occasional comp. The formats are burps and the other is Music average for 2 different orgs. So i was thinking about going 5.5cf net with maybe a single 8" aero, but again im not sure. i did however do something like this before with a HDC3 18 in think 5.25 or .35 cubes net with 2 6" aeroports and had pretty good success IMO (147db on music average). So any thoughts or input is much appreciated. Again im using Aero's because i have to keep some hatch space Thanks in advance,

DC XL 18 M1 Enclosure Help

yea thats just my medium from for spl vs daily. tuning to 40hz for me lets me play down far enough for me. i may actually tune it to 37hz but idk. As far as 90-120 sq inches of port im using aero's to save on room also much easier to work with IMO in case i dont like the tuning. how does 90-120 translate to aeroports. I was thinkning of doing 5.5 cubes(dc site reccomends) and a single 8" aero port
  5. Ok so im working on my box and i have the option to do 2 8's or 1-12" aero port for my box. Im not sure which will be the better way to go and i know they equal roughlly the same thing. This is what im looking at. -2 Soundqubed SDC2.5 15s -Enclosure will be 8 cubes(4 cubes per sub) @ 40hz either way -Power for now 1600 rms(will soon be about 3k before rise and voltage drop aiming at 1k per sub) Ports: 2 8" Aeros - 100.48 sq inches / 8 cubes = 12.56 sq inches port per cube 1 12" Aero - 113.04 sq inches / 8 cubes = 14.13 sq inches port per cube The 1 12" will give me alittle more port per cube then the 2 8"s, also ive always seen and been told that less ports are more efficient. With the 1-12" port i would have 8" on the inside of the box between the port and the back wall of the box, and outside i would have 6 or so inches between the port and the hatch. I have had a few ppl say the 1-12" aero would be fine this way and the 12" is my preference between the 2 just looking for thoughts. It would be the same as above^ way with 2 8" ports as well. What do you guys think?

    Budget 15" Sub

Whats up, Im not really wanting to this be a VS thread really, Im just looking for some last minute opinions before i order, i have the cash in hand which ever i end of picking which will probly be tonight or tomorrow morning. These 3 were chose because there close within budget. These Would all be pair's also. American Bass Xd 15 - 3" Coil, "Rated" 700rms (the 3" coil is talking to me lol, gives me some upgrade room) Soundqubed SDC2.5 15 - 2.5" Coil, "Rated" 600rms(i know they take alittle more from exp) SoundQubed HDS2 15 - 2.5" Coil, "Rated" 600rms(not much info on it) These are all simliar in price(at least for what i can get a pair for), and im trying to decide but im stuck between these 3 currently. Im leaning more towards the SQ SDC2.5 15s(they are my favorites out of them) then the AB XD-15 popped up in a thread and i really like the specs with the 3" coil and what not and not much more then the SDC2.5-15. The HDS2-15 is there also because of the price point. But i know the SDC2.5 & XDs are superior to it. What im looking for is more geared toward SPL then SQ. Im looking for the best daily/spl setup i can do with these 3(pretty much between the SDC2.5 & AB XD lol). Its a daily build would like it to post decent numbers on termlab when i attend the occasional comp. Thanks guys,

    Budget 15" Sub

01 santa fe, i know since its a SUV Subs up, port back will 9/10 times work the best. i had a blazer before and tried it firing back and the sub up port back was quite a bit louder. Also i have done probably 4 different single 18 builds lol and wanted to try something different. I have done 2 15s 1 time in a suv and i was kind of upset over it lol, wasnt what i thought but the enclosure was pre-built for other subs and in no way up to par either. i mean yea i metered/burped a 147.9 or 148 but my single 18" hdc3 was just as loud on music(147.6 30sec-music ave) and on like a quater of the power(like 800watts tops). I couldnt understand it, i was impatient and sold both 15s lol and went back to a single 18. So i figure i would try again, but build this box from ground up. all comes down to the box and install. yea i know, thats why im taking my time on it this time. i already have an idea on the size. But im am doing sub up port back tho.

    Budget 15" Sub

i did it in that order actually, i already have everything all measured for my hatch, i know my max dimensions but i dont need all of it that space. i have drawn a layout of where everything will sit/fit into my hatch etc. I already know my budget for subs. I actually made my decison and ordered them a few hours ago. I know my power limits as well vs my electrical system. So im not sure what you mean by "budget desire and reasoning dont match reality"? I have never spent a alot on a sytem and never had trouble getting it to sound good and loud(meter wise) on a small budget. Also im not trying to sound like an a$$ if any of this sounded that way lol.

    Budget 15" Sub

oh crap, my bad i should have listed that box size isnt a issue for the 2 15s, but i dont want a 18 because the box would have to be deeper then i want it to be. im trying to keep the depth at 16.5 or lower. But i have alot of lenth and a bit of height to work with. Budget is $250 for the pair lol(all these fall into the range)
