1.5ft^3 tuned to 35-38hz

So your saying you bought it off eBay?
-
Have fun when it does fail!

That has been gone for year now!

Very nice! Looking forward to seeing how this turns out since I have a 1998 Sierra.

18" btl n2, 15'' btl N2, 12'' btl N2, or 2 12'
Kanaworm$ replied to lonelyprince24's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
It will basically come down to the install! You have a great start with the Kicker amp and matching it up to an Fi sub woofer should achieve your goals. Might want to look into the 4" Coil BL. -
Better do some research on the N3 BTL. It is an SPL Burp only sub woofer. Playing it "daily" will sound like . Look into the N2 BTL or the 4" coil BL if your looking at doing SPL and daily.

Good choice in moving on to another brand of subwoofer. I had always heard TREO was expensive, but holy that is expensive for a recone.

Anything to do with peal and seal or Fatmat is junk! Don't believe the hype it's all bullshit! Asphalt adhesive and a paper thin layer of aluminum makes for a waste of time and money! I would recommend reading through This website and you will get a better understanding of the applications of a true sounddeadening product.

saz1500d v.1 v.s dd m1a?
Kanaworm$ replied to aimone's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Don't let him kid you the SAZ-1500v.1 is a monster of an amp and yes the Sundown can operate daily at .5. The DDM1A is a good amplifier in itself but just not on par with the SAZ-1500D in terms of stability at .5 ohm. Keep the SAZ-1500D you will be glad you did. -
Resin inside the box I would avoid as I don't see any real benefit. As far as weather stripping it may not hurt if you do not have the rubber gasket that surrounds the edge of the basket.

Some will say to use a DMM or an O-scope. But you can use your ear to get started. Start with some music you know not a Bass Mechanic CD lol. Turn your "gain" to minimum and as you turn up the volume on your HU, turn the gain on the amplifier up until it sounds like the subwoofer is starting to stress (distort) and then turn the "gain" back about a quarter turn until you hear no stress coming from the sub woofer. The Gain on the amplfier is not a volume knob.

What kind of "full power" are you looking for at 2 ohm?

Happy B-lated Birthday!

Not these personally, but have heard various Scan-Speak drivers in some very nice DIY home projects. If I were in the market for a passive kit I would look into this as an option.

A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees

Wow great craftsmanship! Keep up the great work man! Enjoying all the progress pics. -
The Incriminator Audio Death Row series is an excellent driver that will be a great match for your amp. Great output and sq imo. Follow IA box specs and you got yourself a great daily sub woofer setup. IA DR ftw!

USA produced steel!

Wow this is a fail thread right from the beginning. Op go read the NOOB posting guidelines before posting again. The W7 is a great driver. Yes it doesn't fit everybody's budget but it doesn't mean it's overpriced or over hyped. It was not designed for sheer output so should not be mentioned in an SPL comparison.
-
The SA-8 would have more motor over the DCON but the DCON is an amazing sounding sub woofer. I have both and the SA-8 has more output with the pair to the ear. The DCON 10" in a 1.33ft^3 enclosure tuned to 33hz sounds amazing in my truck and in the wife's Bonneville. The output is impressive but the sq is where it shines imo.
