I voted LI Series from Incriminator....Only because that is what I own and love them. But Mach 5, Sundown and the ICON are great choices as well.....

Most kicks will have an open area behind the plastic. Keep this area open behind your kicks don't seal it.

You can add an L shape length of 4.5" and that should get you close to 42Hz.

I get 6.14 ^3ft before speaker and port displacement. I took a wild guess and used 0.18 ^3ft for speaker displacement and after port displacement I came up with 5.093 ^3ft tuned to 46hz I did this quick so somebody may come up with a more acurate number for you.

I get 2.5 Cubic Feet tuned to 39Hz

Tell him to upgrade and get a 1 dual 2 ohm woofer or 2 dual 4 ohm woofers. -

I think you mean impedance! Wiring the dual voice coil woofer in parallel and then wire it in parallel with the single voice coil woofer = 1.33333 ohms Wiring the dual voice coil woofer in series and then parallel with the single voice coil woofer = 2.66667 ohms Wiring the dual voice coil woofer in parallel and then wire it in series with the single voice coil woofer = 6 ohms All options should be ok depending on the amplifier used. -
