Kanaworm$ replied to xmx2188's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
What Subs? Vehicle, max width, height and depth and the amp your gonna use? Plenty of people here to help if you give us the info! -
Nice progress! Keep the pics coming!

Welcome .... Look into these two options... Sundown - SAE-1200D v.2 or Sundown - SAZ-1000D

Nice job! Lethal Injections are a great buy!

That is impressive!

9 cubes, midwestspl naionals i put up a record high for me a 156.2 and a 138 extreme run street beat 30sec. average 13 outside the car. WHat meter and what mic placement... I know you can have doors open... I read through the midwestspl rule book and didn't see mic placement anywhere... The last MidwestSPL event I was at used the TL, windshield placement and 18" away from passenger window. Windows were open on street beat only.

Expect a 7 day lead time. I would say within 2 weeks give or take a few days. Depending on how busy they are.

Btw if you have 1 dual 2 ohm subwoofer it can be wired to either to a 4 ohm load or 1 ohm. Series will yield 4 ohm and Parallel will yield 1 ohm.

SAZ series is the Competition line for Sundown. SAZ offers an operating voltage of 10-16 volts, strapping capability, 24db per octave crossover, variable phase shift. SAE line is the entry level line. Operating voltage of 12-14.4 volts, 12db per octave crossover. Switchable phase shift. Both will power your woofer setup just fine.

Definitely do yourself a favor and upgrade that 12 gauge to at least 4 gauge minimum.

How to recognize a good SQ amplifier?
Kanaworm$ replied to Dammed's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Out of the 3 amps listed I know the Sundown the best. Not taking away anything from the other 2. Take a look at the crossover and ssf filter on the Sundown. The Sundown has more flexiability, subsonic filter is variable, choice of either 12db or 24db octave slopes on the crossover frequency and a x10 selectable range switch. Also independent crossovers for channels 1-2 and 3-4 for running active if you chose to. The 100.4 is more like 125 watts x4 if not a little more. And if your worried about resale.....Sundown has a great rep online! -
Welcome .... Congrats on the purchase!

I would double check the deck and make sure your RCA's are hooked up correctly. Make sure they are hooked up to the "Sub Out" or at least to the front or rear outputs. Double check your power and remote voltage when the head unit is on and when you turn up the volume, to make sure you don't have a voltage drop issue. Make sure your RCA's are not pinched somewhere.

Which Amp?
Kanaworm$ replied to casedawg350's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I voted Sundown! I run Sundown and I rep Sundown so i'm partial! Not taking anything away from RF. I just feel you cannot get better customer service than Jacob at Sundown! -
Budget? Amplifier? Electrical? As mentioned above, with some more info we can help you a lot better!
