Good choice on the MLI 65's. They will work very well in a properly dampened door application as a midbass or midrange. But as far as subwoofers go, do a little comparative shopping in the SSA store and read and learn as musch as you can. You listed running 3000 watts, be prepared to spend to upgrade your electrical (Alt, 1/0 wire and batts). Shitcan the 4x10" speakers in the rear, useless imo. I ran an Audioque SDC2.5 15" D4 and overall it is an okay woofer, Nothing really great about it. It served it's purpose until I could afford a quality subwoofer setup. For a little more money saved I think you can get much better than AQ in terms of quality. Just my .02 Just about all the manufacturers on the SSA forum can custom build a subwoofer for your application. Just takes a little reading and research.

400 watts to use on ssa goodness

2 DCONS would be very impressive. I have a DCON D4 10" in my wifes car and it is more than enough for her and very impressive on the SAZ-1000D wired at 2 ohms. Either choice is going to be great! SSA FTW! -
Sundown - SAZ, SAX series built by Zenon (One of the top amplifier buildhouses in Korea) to Sundown specs. 10-18 volt operating range, Strappable, Great crossover flexibility. Great Customer Service. SAE series built in China to Sundown Specs. Less expensive, Great Customer Service. SAZ - 4500D also built in Korea by another buildhouse. Incriminator Audio - iirmc is built by Zenon to IA specs. Small footprint, Strappable, Great Customer Service, Crossover Flexibility, 10-18 volt operating range. Stetsom - Built in Brazil, powerful, small footprint. No other experience other than what I have read. RD - Shady owner, Shady buisness practices, Poor Customer service, Just search the net on RD audio and you will see the horror stories.

Wow! Just one more reason that SSA is the best Car Audio forum on the net! -
I put my D4 DCON 10 in a 1.3ft^3 box tuned to 33hz and it sounds great. I have it in my wife's 01' Bonneville powered by and SAZ-1000D. Here is my build log and review. OldSkool_08 DCON Build Log and Review - SSA Car Audio Forum

2 Single 4 ohm voice coils wired in parallel will yield a 2 ohm mono load. 2 Dual 4 ohm voice coils wired in parallel will yield a 1 ohm mono load.

It will perform great if properly installed!

Ask the seller what the port width, length and height are, then we can tell you exactly if that box will work for your application.

///M5 is a well respected member of this forum and has a wealth of knowledge to share. He has an opinion on something like yourself and he told you his opinion. You don't like it fine, but move on and let it go. If you like the AQ brand then by all means stick with it and support it.

Your not a Fi Q customer, from what you described above, look into the BL. Or take advantage of the Sundown Z15 closeout. Great woofer at a great price. Sundown Z15 D2 and D4 Close-Out Special - SSA Car Audio Forum

Nice job on the center console! This build get's better all the time.

With measurements given it will be possible to build a ported enclosure but you will have to go with a round port (Aero) vs the sloted design. What is the max width you can go? Side window to side window?
-
What type of vehicle? What voice coil option did you get, dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm?
-
If you take 15*12*22 = 3,960/1,728 = 2.292ft^3 gross. If you subtract wood thickness and woofer displacement (0.13ft^3*2) you get 1.422ft^3 not near enough room for a pair of 10"s.
-
W x D x H = ? / 1,728 = Gross cubic feet - wood thickness, woofer displacement, port and any 45 degree corners and internal bracing. How about giving us some info on what dimensions your working with inside your vehicle, amp etc, etc.
-
Go with Sundowns box specs.

Should be wet heavy snow your way today!

Effects on sound from fiberglassing an enclosure?

In talking with the local audio shop here, they said it can give kind of a "echo, hollow" sound.... .... Just what they told me.
