Another choice if your worried about amplifier power is the DCON series from SSA. An amazing sounding subwoofer either ported or sealed. Check them out they won't break the bank and are very versatile.

Difference in performance between MB Quart 1500D and Sundown SAZ-1500D
Kanaworm$ replied to chasinSKURT's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The Sundown SAZ-1500D has an operational voltage of 10-18 volts, Strappable, 24db per octave crossover, variable subsonic filter. Highly underrated! You may want to take a look at the new Sundown SAE-1200Dv.2 if it fits your budget. Not taking anything away from the MB Quart but since Maxxsonics has whored out the brand I just choose to stay away. -
Lexan is a type! Just more expensive than acryllic.

question about the BIG 3
Kanaworm$ replied to thizzkid's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Could you post a pic of said compressor? -
I would look into the SAZ-1000D from Sundown! Great little underrated amplifier that will power your subwoofer just fine and be easier on the electrical. It's on sale in the SSA Store!
-
Good to see the great customer service and that you got the problem solved. Even though your without the truck for awhile.
-
Should be more than fine.

If you want more output look at going ported. A properly designed and built ported enlcosure will yield great reults. Look into the Sundown SAZ-1000D as it's on sale in the SSA store. The SSA ICONS are a great woofer. Check out Pound That Sound under the fabricator forum and check out what Trevor has achieved with the ICONS.

question about the BIG 3
Kanaworm$ replied to thizzkid's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I used the alternator mounting bolt for mine. -
External dimensions? How did you come up with 13.092"?
-
Daily or SPL setup? SAZ-4500D should be back in stock sometime late April early May, that would be my choice if you have the electrical to supply it!
-
Look for some 1/4" mirrored plexi and put it on the back wall of the enclosure. It gives the impression of a lot of woofers.

Well it's about dogone time! .... Now remember we will be requiring pics of said new amp and a build log! Now get busy.... Congrats btw!

Difference in Knu Wire
Kanaworm$ replied to bmoney9's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
KLMX wire is copper clad aluminum if i'm not mistaken and the Fleks is 99.999% copper. -
fi q vs sundown z15 or ? Port type suggestions also...
Kanaworm$ replied to nefariouscaine's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Don't get me wrong the "Q" is a great woofer, it's just not designed to be played at high volumes or generate high spl. The SSD or BL is better suited for your application. Both can be played at high volumes, get very loud and still sound good. Another option you may want to look into is the SSA XCON or ICON. -
If you have the room look into going ported!

best port design for a walled enclosure

Hit up JBLCamry here on the forum. -
Unless you can find someone with extra or scrap expect to dish out some $$$. Also you will want to go as thick as your mdf for thickness. Now you know we will require pics for this setup right? ....

Looking good!

I have a pair of 15" and love them! They are very transient have great detail and get plenty low. I couldn't be happier with them. If you want to show off they have the potential to put out ....
