Generally means your playing your subwoofer in the wrong size enclosure below recommended tuning. Most of the time the amp is driven to clipping by using to much bass boost, loudness function etc. I'm sure somebody else will be able to answer better.
-
What subwoofers? Ported will almost always yield higher output than sealed. 1^3ft sealed or ported box should not really need any extra bracing.
-
May want to check out who the engineer/designer is on the JL Audio amps! So are you going to tell me? Or do I have to use google and actually do something? I'm hoping to take the easy way out and have you answer for me. Bruce Macmillan from PPI and Jeff Scoon from Xtant iirmc.

What's your width and height?
-
Figure out how wide and how high you want the port. That will equal your square inch of port. Then just figure out how low of tuning you want. PORT Size Calculations and Formulas for WOOFER and Subwoofer BOXES PORT DESIGN FORMULAs for SUB WOOFER ENCLOSUREs

Figure out your cubic feet and figure out how many square inches of port per cubic feet you want. General rule of thumb is 12-16 square inches per cubic feet. And you generally cut your bracing with a saw! ...

Nice looking build! In a pickup I would go either subs and port front or try firing up and see what sounds best to your ears!

How much can a DCON 10 really take???
Kanaworm$ replied to GeorgeW.Kush's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
No not at all as long as you have the box in the recommended enclosure size and you have your amp gain set properly. Should be good to go. -
My Bad.....Ported!
-
Go with the larger of the optimum enclosure sizes under the XCON technical section! You won't be disappointed.
-
and what types of enclosure are good to feel the bass rather than hear it? What type of music do you listen too?
-
If your looking for ear loudness then most of the time a ported enclosure will be louder than sealed. If your going with the XCON, your getting a very good versatile driver that can perform great in both sealed and ported.
-
That was a nice increase! Congrats!

SAZ-2000D has been discontinued and will be replaced by the all new SAZ-2500D no eta yet! RDumb is just plain bad news and would avoid at all costs.

Damn! Looks like it went in flawlessly!

Iirmc AQ recommends a 38hz tuning. I would go with their recommendation.
