1 ohm vs 4 ohm Question
Kanaworm$ replied to Ginobli07's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The Q was not designed to be loud, all though it can get loud in a ported box. As far as any difference? No! -

Here are pics of the fiberglass baffle that I will be using in my new box. Some may remember this plate from way back.

Some CLD tiles should eliminate those embarrassing rattles for ya! -
A large enclosure doesn't limit the mechanical ability of the sub, it just reduces the mechanical power handling ability of the sub. The sub can still move the same amount in any box. Thanks for the clarification .... It's what I meant to say, just didn't type out that way.

sealed freq response on xcon??
Kanaworm$ replied to gadgeteer123's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
I would look into going to 4.5ft^3 tuned to 33hz. That would give you a nice bump at tuning + add in cabin gain and the length of the vehicle you drive it should meet your goals. -

WinISD uses the "Optimum" as to what the speaker would plot out like in a perfect Anechoic Chamber. I would definately go with what SSA recommends! You may want to tune higher than the 29hz you have your existing box at! Personally I like a higher tuning since I listen to mostly Metal! -

The curve down is the F3. Where the speaker starts to roll off naturally in the enclosure! -

Did you like how it plotted out? Should have a nice bump. A QTC of .707 will generally give a flatter response. The XCON should plot out a nice curve in a sealed box! -
RD doesn't even deserve that good of a 60 cylce death!

Sealed Subwoofer Speaker BOX DESIGN - Qtc Calculator Read through this and then see what you come up with. -
I have a pair of LI 15" and they are great drivers for the money. Loud, low and have great "SQ" imo. Both drivers are geared for different purposes. No real comparison. The Fi "Q" is desinged as a sound quality driver. Designed to cover all frequenices equally in a specified range.
