It will reside on the larger side of recommendations even after speaker displacement but will only suffer a little less power handling. Will still sound excellent with some very good low end.

I would not run them together if that is what you're asking.

Is the box a net volume with speaker displacement accounted for?

AQ recommends a higher tuning than Fi .

Most likely the sub is fine but it's all part of the process of elmination in the troubleshooting process. Can you hook up another sub or even a speaker to make sure the amplifier is working correctly?
-
Do you have access to a dmm? Check the dcr of the subwoofer to make sure they didn't blow! Check to make sure you have the subwoofer(s) wired correctly.

Subs Ringing Problem

I would look at trying a new HU ground and when the HU is out of the dash check to see if the noise goes away. -

Kinda OT, but what is the Bass EQ good for then? Seems like it's pretty pointless? Imo it is pointless. It's similar to the "Loudness" feature on some older HU. It can be used, make sure you can tell when the subwoofer is starting to stress (Smell hot, distort) so you can turn it down. -

I would advise turning the Bass EQ down, it can cause the amp to clip and ruin the subwoofer. Basically it is a 1 band eq centered at a fixed frequency and when turned up can cause the woofer to be overdriven. -

May want to try another set of RCA's. Where is the HU grounded? Sometimes the factory ground can cause noise issues. -
Atomic's shipping prices are just a little out of line!

Need a good quality amp
Kanaworm$ replied to dcyphure's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Kicker makes a very good amplifier as do so many other companies. look at various amplifiers and compare the SSF to see whether they are fixed or variable. Quality of crossover etc. Look into customer service and what kind of technical assistance they offer. Buy what fits your budget and needs! Not every company is going to offer the exact specifics you are looking for. -
I wonder if that wasn't suppose to be 440 x 4 at 2 ohms?

Sweet score! SA Series and Sundown Audio FTW!
