Area for box max is like 27x25x21 middle might get 26 but already should be plenty big assume little under will work, will use 4 or 5 4" ports guess depends on effects of more port area on sub from what I estimated if right somewhere between 50-62 for port area, tuning preferred for all around sound and output. Not sure how the speaker will react with a little more box assume it should be ok and went with Zcon just because power is little over Xcons RMS and box from site little bigger. Hoping it helps low end, but any suggestions not sure if the Torres Tuning Calculator is correct and unlike when I lived in N California, there not real shops unless I drive 2 hours round trip then again, I do not know there work. A friend said tuning it in area of 31-33 Hz claimed out put might go down with little gain in lower end. I decided to ask before I build the new box and any suggestions would be appreciated. I have not gotten the sub yet and guess little nervous first time I bought a sub based off specs and reviews since no shops in area, so if you have any suggestions please other than my writing is not the best. Sub and it performance is my only goal.

Mark was out of the office at SBN for over a week, so the calls are flooding in all day long. I am answering every email question. I am trying another computer. The one I had the keys stick and has been a pain just to type, guess there is no way to credit the amount I paid to my SSA account and then have a invoice balance so i can apply this credit to purchase and then pay the 69 dollar balance. When doing accounting I do not like to send any credit card info in a email. If I ask the bank to send a check it would take even longer. I will try again later. Again thanks. it been ok to put the 69 on same card, yea do not send personal info by email much or tcell phone after watching tv this hacker guy with a tricked out Iphone was able to pull codes on a BMW then was able to enter any BMW believe it was and my email was hacked over seas once last year had to change things. .

I am new to this and replacing my RE SXX 15 worried after a year it sounded cool, but the thing on E40 etc. to long might have to be turned down got a little smell. I have looked at Xcon wanting something lower and only way I could fit an 18" would be in a sealed box, upgrading to try and get more low end, handle Hifonics Brutus 2400 better, and hit all day. It will be one speaker guess everyone seems to call Xcon SQ sub more than Zcon, 15 would bolt in box net slightly over 3.55 aero port 6" might upsize box and run 4-5 4" tune it lower even in current setup probably tune it lower then RE was. I looked at the Zcon 15 because of the better coil and actually sensitivity on sub seems better. I know they say Xcon are under rated and not sure how much the Hifonics actually puts out but as it only ad on was an extra battery, big 3 and car voltage stays in 13s if not 14s 13s mainly at idle. I got hooked on larger subs when I had truck and 2 Kicker competitions ported into the back, sealed and sensitivity lower but sound always got compliments on sound descent levels for me on a daily driver. Tried the 4 12s more ear piercing then sound and lost low end or for myself preferred the sound of the 18s. Only way I could do a Xcon 18 would be in a sealed box not sure how that would work, too bad they did not have some in shops in area but I never heard one and guess just wanting to buy the right setup. Plus if we play a bass only disc something that will hit which the SSA line seems to be the way to go. I am new at this and probably older than most of you doing this so please bear with me and any suggestions are more than welcomed. I am in a rural area of only 6000 persons so I do not have the options of running to a shop like I did in Sacramento and looking at specs and outputs using box design software. Hoping and trusting in getting help here.

Called no answer, 18 issue was resolved when we discuss box needed to be 18 over weekend, plus never use this site or this type of contact usually call the company and talk to someone. You said to call Wed that Mark would be there, but line has been busy all day or I said you could call me any time after 8 AM Central time. I admit there was a learning curve, but guess just did not work the way I original thought this worked, but then again, never really done this before. Software shops I use to go to were very expensive. $69 difference from one sub to the other, but thought Zcon would hit better and still have a descent sound especially since limited to one sub. I use to use sealed boxes, but after using home subs and almost all my home speakers are ported one way or the other especially subs. I have learn to appreciate a well-tuned box and extra output over sealed box, guess I feel in the right ported box sq. and SPL can live together. I had one sub but before that I was using two Sundowns, so miss the extra output and just felt Zcon might bridge the gap between sq and spl. Assume 93.2 Db at 1 watt is a good point most are 88-89 last one was 90.5 and did pretty good as a temp after I sould Sundowns. I cannot fit two 15s now.

OK - only left specs and responses to questions or thought I did. I guess I should be more careful, but rushed this morning and since disability in 2002 it is harder for me to concentrate and write. I was going to change from an Xcon to Zcon to gain little more power handling, and output. Boxes I tried using Torres put box size more than the recommendation for that Xcon listed, plus since rating at 1 ohm on amp is over the rating of Xcon specs and need for larger box thought the Zcon would be a better fit. I was told that the 15 Zcon needed, “15-16 square inches of port per cube of internal air volume is good.” Now it seems boxes with 4” ports would be short of that. One person said one 6" aero port which is very low on port area, thought maybe 5.35 net box would work but more closer to 12 area onport relating to issue earlier on port per sq inch needed, then the 16. I guess I was a little frustrated because they said to call and change order tried many many times but I could not reach anyone because no one was in the office or the number they said to call today has been busy. Sorry, work, trying to get son going and etc. plus feeling a little frustrated over this I guess I screwed up. I usually call the company and talk to their techs a least before now. I also on here and SMD and sorry if I confused you guess trying to rush I did not realize it. Punctuation was in my mind but not on here and since accident this happens more than not. I had only built aero or sealed port boxes before, but 2 x 6" ports would be tough to fit and a pain, option on boxes would be over 5.21 net. The specs listed were what I got from SSA sight.
