I was playing my system today which consists of two SAZ-3000d's strapped together @2 ohms. I was messing with some settings in my HU and it was just slammin. All of a sudden it cuts off so I turn the system off and let it sit for a little bit. Turned it back on and it still doesn't play thought I blew the fuse. When I finally get home I check the amp and the slave amp goes into protect. I know that the link RCA sometimes causes problems but now whenever it turns on it immediately goes into protection. I tried disconnecting the link RCA and turn it on and still goes into protect. Right now I disconnected both power and ground to let it sit disconnected for a while. In a couple of hours i'm going to hook it back up and try again. I'm hoping it was just a glitch. If anyone has some words of wisdom to shed on this they would be much appreciated. I just hope I don't have to send it in for warranty.

well i still can't get it to come out of protection. So it's being shipped off tomorrow. What is the correct address to send it to?

well i'll try to get it apart this afternoon or this weekend at the latest. If it doesn't work then it will be on its way to you come monday.

What kind of turn around could I expect?

No I haven't. It's a little difficult for me to just remove the amp. If I were to remove the bottom cover and it works, what would I do next? I can't leave the cover off.

I hope not

well i unstrapped the amps, disconnected the link RCA, the only thing still connected was the positive speaker terminal. And the amp turned on blue then immediately to red. Looks like this amp is coming out and being sent in for warranty repair.

so basically just disconnect the amp from the system and see if it turns on?

I just hooked it back up the power and ground to the amp and it does the same thing. Blue light comes on then turns to red. So what I do now? The remote wires are paralled together. And the way the amps are mounted I cannot swap power and ground. I checked voltage across both amps and I read the same voltage. What would be the next step?

blue light comes on then immediately changes to red. I had no voltage drop at all. I have a volt meter in my dash and it may have gone from 14.4 to maybe 13.9 but that is about it.

First time posting here, but have been reading up on Sundown for the past few months and have like everything I've read so far. So a month ago I purchased two brand new SAZ-3000Ds and they are strapped together to make a 6000W monster. Well I was trying to do some no load gain settings like I have done in the past on other amplifiers. I have three Powermaster D3100 batteries with 1/0AWG cable between each as well as 1/0AWG cable for Pos and Neg to each amplifier. Also I have double runs of 8AWG between each amp as well. I set all controls for both amps to zero connected my sub out RCA from my HU to the master amp and the BR out to the BR in of the slave amp. I placed a DMM across the POS speaker terminal of the master amp and the POS speaker terminal of the slave amp. At 2 ohms I should read approx 109V for a 6000W RMS output. Well I have a 60Hz sine wave 0dB recording that I was using to set the gains. The voltage goes up to 96V with no problems, but as soon as I hit the 105V threshold the slave amp begins to make a buzzing noise. The protection light does not come on; it just starts to buzz. Can anyone help with this? I was hoping to have this completd for the weekend and I don't want to have to pull out the amp and ship it off. Thanks for all the help. Justin

well guys looks like it was the brand new speakers. the suspensions on them are stiff to begin with so I think the impedance was dropping below 2ohms. I played all 4 subs on one amp at a time for about an hour each with no problems. Then I strapped the amps together this time using the other amp as the master and everything works flawless. It pounds. And amazingly the Powermaster D3100s are just awesome. I have a stock 150amp alternator 1 run of 1/0AWG for power and ground from the yellowtop under the hood to the back of the car. The D3100s are daisychained using 1/0AWG and then I have the two 3000D with 300Amp fuses each and 1/0AWG power and ground. And I have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4 with a 4AWG power and ground. I am seeing no voltage drop at all even at full tilt. I thought I may have blown the 200Amp fuse under the hood but I check the voltage on the amps and it reads 13.86 volts sometimes 14.4 volts. Thanks Jacob for recommending the D3100s. And thanks for making such a kick ass amp. Oh yeah and guys check out my install. Its just about 600lbs worth of equipment. http://s513.photobucket.com/albums/t331/culzero/

I haven't tried each amp on its own yet. the way the amps are mounted I do not think I will be able to reroute the speaker wire so it looks like my only option is to try a new RCA cable which I'm going to do now. I'll let you all know what I find out.
