well im not complaining about the price.. I just cant afford it like some of these others can but im a firm believer in that you get what you pay for... and casey sorry for takin over you build log with this my bad.. and damn that basket has been trough hell and back lol

when did you order it? Early Feb. Lol damn I hope I dont have to wait that long. Probably not. It probably got forgot or something. Don't know if iv even had a sub take this long Nothing was forgotten, they are just flat out slammed and working 16-17 hour days to get caught up. have you guys ever considered adding a couple more build houses for times like this? or maybe stocking up and prebuilding some subs before busy season? or maybe offer where you buy all the parts and assemble the sub yourself? lol idk just a thought Because our speakers are made to order in the USA, in one location with a pair of engineers that are some of the very best period, we keep our manufacturing with them. The issue is, the constantly rising costs of materials and rising costs of building in the USA, the money is not there to grow a larger build house, and the profit is not there, not to mention the undertaking to even attempt that. What that means, is there is more demand than man power, and less profit than man power to keep up with demand. So there is no way, in the current situation, unless we raise prices to where they should be in the first place, that we could be stocking or pre-building. People want top end, premium American made subwoofers for near Chinese made prices. So something has to give. Lastly, we are not going to have an assemble yourself subwoofer, new, with the SSA logo on it. That would be untold amounts of issues for even less profit. I appreciate the input, but unless people are suddenly willing to pay for what SSA subwoofers are really worth, we do not have the option to have a large stock or expand the build house. In simple terms: "Fast, Great, Cheap, pick two." yeah I was just throwin ideas around.. wasnt tryin to start a battle or anything.. I dont ever see people posting bitching about price.. what I do see is people bitching about waiting so long for something that cost so much usually... ive tried to get a few people I know to order some zcons or evils and they usually say I would but I cant wait that long lol.. then they will turn around and pay retail for something stupid like L7s or some fosgate power series.

why not just pull the sub out and make sure you have it wired right? not a very hard thing to do.

in his case I believe used equipment is his friend. its hard to be on such a tight budget and get impressive gear.craigslist ftw! Considering my experience with used woofers, I really want to buy new. Also, this is not a "save up until I can afford something better" situation. I'm just setting a strict budget for myself to limit my total system cost. I'm only pushing 500 watts so I'm not in the market for a $300 sub.I wasn't insinuating that you couldn't afford a new sub, just sayin a used one might be more up your alley. if you listen to the sub and take it out of the box and check everything over then its really hard to get a bad deal on a used sub.. I hear you, it's just that people typically tell you to save up for the best whenever you talk about buying on a budget.Speaking of which...B-Stock Sundown SA12 vs refurbished Kicker L7 12", same price (160ish). Which would you go for? ive had both subs. but 2 12 Sa and 1 L7 so naturally the sa's were louder. for the money the L7 jjst falls short. rated at 750rms is not a joke they wont take much more. mind you i didnt have the best electrical at the time but the L7 on a aq1200 was just too much for it. I could smell it it getting hot after abojt a hour of play. I had the sa 12s on a aq2200 with better electric and they could take it for hours on end and never smell anything. also inhad a fjrst gen L7 so the newer ones mkght be a little different. but id go forthe sa if you have it nanarrowed down to the two

from my experience with trucks and subs. is you pretty much have to give up seating to get loud. im sure these guys can design you a box or have some ideas on how to do it. but for a regular dude like me thats not a pro audio and fairly new to car audio thats the only way I could make it happen

me too. especially when your trying to buy used subs.

right now this enclosure is working pretty good, I need to do some deadening, upgrade my power wire and add another batt before I do anything else.next time I go to Casey's you should stop over too and let me hear it

never used a meter. and to me personally not only did it sound better but you could feel more air flow through the window being down and a more solid response.. I had alot of different setups in there but all seemed better facing up port up.. just my opinion take it for what you want. I dont have any hardcore evidence. im sure one of these other people on here have a better ear or something

Test in my f250 extended cab I had the best luck with subs up port up with the port being on the passenger side.. I tried every which way and that yielded my best results..
