Just realized my typo... Its 2.75 lol my bad guys. Also I'm really happy with the zcon it is a beast of a sub. I just want to get louder. Honestly I can't really see any other single 12 getting much louder/lower while still sounding good. I have it in a 2002 cavalier and its pretty brutal. Its tearing my dash apart and damn near shatters my sunroof if I don't have it open. If I decided to build the box in the trunk I could have around 5 cubes net. Just not sure if I want to dedicate the whole trunk to a box. Then I'd have to put the amps and batts in the back seat area.

It is sound deadened. Box is sub and port forward sealed off in the trunk. On a crescendo bc3500. I guess I could try a different box first. My electrical and everything is on point. Doesn't drop below 12.8 at full tilt.

I had 2 12 xfls in a 4.5 cubed box tuned to 32 hz on a audioque 2200 and they were really surprising. Got loud got low and sounded pretty good as well. I had a crap electrical system at the time. No spare batteries and a stock alt and no big 3 upgrade. I beat the crap out of them and the guy I sold them to still has them with a similar crappy electrical system. He still beats the crap out of them and they have been abused for about 2 years now. As far as type r's go. I've never personally had any but seen a few people with them and they didn't seem awful. I'm just not a huge alpine fan but that's just me.. Its a shame you can't get a SSA sub. I have a 12 inch zcon on a crescendo bc3500 right now. This single sub gets louder and lower than both those xfls did and sounds great to boot.you might also look into some fosgate t1 or t2. I had some of those and they were pretty impressive but you don't want to over power them or Clip them at all.If I were you I'd try to find some used stuff first or see if you can find people with different sub setups so you can check them out.the worst thing you can do is watch YouTube videos. Everything looks good on video lol.

ok so I installed my singer 250 alt amp and did the big 3 using knu 1/0 ofc. . the volts with nothing on stays at 14.6. I can turn it up full tilt and it ranges from 13.8 - 14.1.. So my question is why do my headlights still dim? It's not on every song either. I can play tech n9ne so dope or TI on purpose and its perfectly fine. I can play something with alot less bass like lil wayne god bless America and it looks like a light show. yeah I added a smaller belt. absolutely no slippage. I checked the volts at idle all the way up to 5000 rpm. ill check into the HID lights and see if that helps.. I could add a couple batteries but like I say im running out of room in the trunk as well as under the hood for the wires.. its a 02 cavalier and not alot of room to start with lol. thanks for the help though guys

american bass subs actually pound and arent bad subs at all.. I've had some xfls and hd's and both were impressive. for that much though I would just save up or spend a little extra and get some better ones

lol thats usually how far I get and get pissed and just slap the subs in and ride around like that for about a month before I get motivated enough to fix it.

If you haven't got subs yet why wouldn't you just get the right ohm subs so you can run it at 2 ohmBecause nowadays everybody wants to be cool with either custom subs or custom amps.lol the ol frankensubs. I fully blame PSI for this.. lets take all these parts from all these different subs and put em together and still not be as loud and pay twice the price. lmao I love it
