The amp is 150 rms per channel so it's not crazy over power when rms is 100 rms per side on the sundowns. The real question now is should I ditch the kappas and just run the sundowns. If the kappas truly a 2 or 3 ohm speaker like they state wouldn't it be robbing power from the sundowns being a 4 ohm load?
-
No the math is not difficult, with the kappa saying it's a 2ohm load mixed with the sundown that's a 4 ohm load I would have a mixed ohm load. Power across that would be less to the sundown. On my dmm the kappa is showing me a 3ohm load though. But with the kappa wired in and the sundown components on each channel with the dmm I'm getting a 5ohm load! With each channel wired in parallel shouldn't my load be lower then 5ohm?

Self exciting alternator not starting.
audiohz posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Installed a self exciting high output alternator worked fine once installed but once the car sits over night if the temperature drops below 30 degrees the next morning when I start the car I'm not charging, voltage is at 12.3 I have rev up to 3k still it takes probably 20 seconds or more before my voltage goes up to 15.1... on warm days and nights never an issue. .what could be causing this? -
I have the sa6.5cs v2 and a set of infinity kappa tweeters all running on the rockford p300x2. Should that be enough power?
-
I'm not trying to push more from them, I haven't installed them yet. My amp is a Rockford p300x2.

I have seen where jacob has said the test is full range down to 20hz on 100 watts RMS and will handle much more with crossover setting on the low end.. So say I set my hpf at 100hz 12db slope should I be OK with 150 watts RMS per side them I would think so.

What gauge wire to rear batts?
audiohz posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have a yellow top under the hood with the big 3 done in stinger 1/0 an a run of stinger 1/0 to the rear batts. One is a kinetik hc 1400 to a hc 1200 so 2600 total. Wired to two kicker zx1000.1 my question is the one single run of stinger 1/0 to the rear OK? It's ofc . -
Sub is a Sundown sa 12 in a 1.75 cu box at 35hz where would the subsonic filter be good to set at?
-
my co worker has a cc1. He telling me to set it at 28hz but that sounds to low.. I'm putting 750 rms on the sub also.
-
The sub box is 2.0 cubic ft per sub tune at 34hz with Sundown sa 12. I've heard that with tunning below 35hz your lpf should be around 80hz or below! Any truth to that? And shouldn't the lpf slope play a part say if 80 hz was best is that with a 12db slope or 24db or does that even mater?
-
I have heard tuned from 30 to 35 never go past 65-80hz lpf and if tuned from 40 to 45hz set lpf from 100hz to 120hz on 12's... I have just always thought tunning would affect where you set your ssf not lpf.
-
How arbitrarily stupid. Not sure what they thought the scope brought to that game. we went back set the gain by ear crossover now around 75 to 80hz. Over all sounds much better... The clip light flickers on hard notes but was told not a big issue.
-
Setting up this sa 12 in my brothers car its in a 2.25 ported box tuned to 34hz. It's in a eclipse . if we get the crossover past 60hz the sub sounds horrible. Should the sa be able to play naturally past that say up to 80 or 90hz?
-
Shop set his gain with a o scope on a 40hz -10db tone.. We definitely got to lower the gain down . from what I take with how that set the gain it would have the amp trying to put out 1000 watts+ or better... Hu is a 4 volt pioneer and the amp gain is slightly past half way.
-
Yes, the problem is probably in the gain setting. What amp are you using? its a Sundown saz 1500 running @ 2ohm one d4 sub

OK so subsonic filter how many hz do you guys set below tunning?
-
Tunning on this box is at 34hz
-
So say its set a little to low will you hear anything sounding bad?
-
Playing around on the amp with some 12's ported.. What you guys setting at? My amp is a fixed 24db slope.
