Tried on the non-hooded version at a local EB store. The sleeves on the regular were about an inch short of where the guy at the store said is recommended, but the bottom of the coat was right around my hip. The tall was about an inch long in the sleeve but I liked that it hung a bit lower....so I went for the tall. Glad I procrastinated, online they are offering 20% off outer ware with free shipping...so I saved a little bit of money too

Alright, you win. Talked to a girl at work, she agreed LL Bean sizes are jenky. Now, I'm 6' tall. The "sizing chart" says tall sizes are for 5'11 1/2" tall. It seems odd to consider myself a "tall" as I consider "tall" more in the 6'4" range....but should I get a tall ?

So install a sunroof and pull the doors off the Toyota.

Shit, 78% off....I shall order 2 of them so I have a backup !!

It'll be my everything coat. Sitting and watching, active (shoveling, etc), cold rainy days, etc. and yeah, a wool shirt was going to be on the order as well. Actually LL bean is doing 10% off all weekend...so I could get that 3 in 1 and a wool shirt for about the same cost as the regular price of the down.

Alright Sean, I'm at a crossroads. I love the idea of a down for warmth, but the moisture issue (I may need to wear it in strong rain for some sporting events or heavy snow shoveling) and fragility (tear it and the down is gone) honestly has me worried. For slightly less $$ they have a 3 in 1 which has the same "warm to" rating as the down. More weatherproof, more flexible, less fragile, cheaper. But I want it to be warm. Think this is a good bet as well ? 3 in 1 http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/83559?feat=pprv 850 fill down http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/83563?feat=pprv

What exactly is your goal ? When you strap two amps, each amp will effectively "see" half the load. So a 1ohm load strapped on 2 amps would mean each amp would be operating at .5ohm, below their recommended range and risking damage. Not recommended. When strapped, the lowest (safe) nominal load that can be ran to those amps is 2ohm. The other option is to buy a second amp and run one to each coil. But then each amp would be driving a 2ohm load and the net power to the subwoofer would be virtually the same, so absolutely no gain there. So either way your plan of purchasing a second amp is not going to work out. From what I could find that sub is rated at 1500w RMS, and you already have 1200w on it...so I don't see increasing power as a viable option anyways. Even if it were, I'm assuming your goal is to get louder...adding more power is the least effective manor of doing so. With the power compression and already being near the driver's limits power handling wise I doubt it would make much of an audible difference if any. Look at redesigning the enclosure first if you are looking to increase output.

Exactly why we waited 14 years to have a kid.We had out 1st 9 years before getting married. Of course I was only 16yrs old at the time, so marriage wasn't an option.I guess bright side is I get to enjoy more time later in life as an empty nester than you guys

Don't need any extra room, I'm more of an athletic build. But it must have a hood. The rest of this is all German to me. I don't know what would make me go for one of these over the other. Same price. Again for shoveling snow, sitting in the cold for football games, building a snow man, etc. Not skiing, mountain climbing, etc. And this will be the main layer, no other outer layer. Maybe wool underneath on really cold days. Just want something uber warmhttp://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/83563?feat=83564-pprrright# http://www.eddiebauer.com/product/downlight-reg-stormdown-trade-hooded-jacket/38832184/_/A-ebSku_0880773175000060__38832184_catalog10002_en__US?showProducts=111&previousPage=REC&cm_sp=REC-_-PDP-_-38832206

CT Sounds 4000.1 - help!
Impious replied to shonB's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
1st issue is relying on a clamp test for anything. Don't waste your time, useless endeavor. 2nd issue was purchasing a CT Sounds product. Even if the amp is decent the owner is a giant douch and doesn't deserve any business nor support by people using his products. Sell it as Aaron suggested and invest in something else. -
I have a cashmere trench coat. Technically wool I believe but not sure if it's the "warm" kind. Never wear it because I don't have to dress up in suits anymore but weddings and funerals.

I'd MUCH rather use my phone/outlook than a Franklin Covey thingee. What do you use? Just outlook?I cannot figure out how to make it useful for me. What do you want to keep track of?I have to take notes at meetings and set up to do lists that will change fast.Think CS follow ups. Also just something to make sure I'm getting everything done I need to. I have never been someone who needs to write anything down. I am however to the point where I'm capped out. I feel myself forgetting shit so I have been putting note in a folder, but it's messy and inelegant. I keep 2 lists, and have a spare sheet to write on near by. The spare sheet (post it note pad) is for immediate things as they come up or very short term reminders....messages from customers, notes about an app or account I'm working on, etc. The 2 lists are short term and long term to do lists. Short term is basically things from the post it notes I didn't get completed or time critical...sort of like my "must due today" list. Long term is non-time critical but important or things I simply am not able to complete at that time because I'm waiting on something else to happen first....follow up on something I told my staff to do, etc. The lists are sort of continuous...as I complete an item it gets crossed off, new items are added to the bottom until I run out of room. I have yet to find an electronic solution I like. Takes too long to enter and organize in a program for me. Although mine are less of a calendar itemization (days of the week or month) and more a list of activities or information I need to remember over a certain period of time.

Sean, what is the difference between a down "sweater" and a down "jacket". http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/86467?feat=6723-GN2&page=ultralight-850-down-sweater&attrValue_0=Black http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/83564?feat=850%20down%20jacket-SR1&page=ultralight-850-down-jacket Several comments about the sweater is that they didn't feel it was warm enough. Also concerned I'm getting a little esoteric here. I've read some about the downs...and the issues you mentioned about lack of effectiveness when damp or compressed. I'm concerned with my ability to properly deal with their "fragility". It appears most of the stuff I'm looking into with the layering and downs and such is really designed with hikers/skiers/climbers/etc in mind. I'm just a guy who is a sissy in the cold who shovels and plays in the snow with his kids. With the layering, for example. I would only have 1 wool base layer, which I would only wear when I know I'll be out there a while. The rest of the time it'll be casual to and from the car type of stuff where I wouldn't have this layer. Would the down + shell be warm enough? And fit well enough for thicker clothes like sweaters to fit underneath?

Despite living fairly far north for all of my life, I've never taken the time or, more importantly, the expense, to build a decent inventory of "warm" clothes. I only have 4 long sleeve shirts, 3 of which are sweatshirts and all 4 are pretty ratty looking. So I think in the next couple months I need to do some buying. Last winter killed me. Coldest I can remember here, ever.So I'm going to need coat, sweatshirts, and shoveling clothes. All warm because I freeze my ass off in anything under 45 degrees. Would something like this work as a base layer for shoveling snow in sub-0 temperatures? http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/65660?page=cresta-wool-midweight-250-base-layer-crew

For activities where you are making heat and moving or for sitting still?I'd like something I can use for both. Or a good under layer to wear in addition to the jacket for when I'm sitting. I need something to shovel/work outside in, and something for (for example) sitting in the cold watching my son play football. I can't afford 2 separate jackets unless they are like $100 each.Which one do you want to compromise on?I'd rather sweat my ass off when working than be cold sitting. Really I don't do much "work" in the winter, just shoveling when it snows. Otherwise it simply needs to keep me from freezing my ass off.

I hear ya. Hate it when it gets below 40 in December. If this winter is like last I'm going to freak out. Mother Nature donkey punched us in the nuts last year. Several feet of snow at the same time temps dropped to wind chills of something like -20...so I had to stand out in that shit for DAYS a shoveling. Be happy you're not as close to the lake as I. That lake-effect shit is major piss me off stuff. Of course, all the white shit pisses me off. I need to move to a tropical island. That's the only answer. I can only imagine. I don't know how you survive over there.

Thanks I'll check it out. I was thinking about checking out LL Bean. I don't know how warm they are to some other brands, but their "return policy" means I could never have to actually purchase another winter coat. When it wears out just exchange it for another.
-
Speaking of which, I need a new winter coat. And I hate being cold. So I want something SUPER warm at a reasonable price. I was hoping Sean or someone might have a suggestion

I hate winter. Only good thing about winter is I have an excuse to be lazy. Hate the cold. Hate snow. Hate stupid people who can't drive in the snow.

Apply CLD to the areas of the inner door that vibrate and resonate. We can't tell you where that is over the Internet. If that plastic inner door is removable then I'd remove it and also apply to the outter door skin as well.

I would rethink the plan. 4" full range is fine for computer speakers like Sean is doing where you are near field, relatively stationary and only one listening position. But for TV and movies where you are far field, wide variety of listening positions and you will periodically need some real output...I think there are better options. A 4" even ported will lack real midbass and lack overall output potential and playing full range will run into beaming so a small sweet spot for listening. IMO check out Zaph or similar websites for inexpensive 2 way DIY speaker options.

SMD DD-1
Impious replied to Bryan Mckendry's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
LMAO...then the DD1 did absolutely NOTHING to for you. The fact you used it as a "starting point" with a 0db test tone then manually increased the gain means you negated any affect the DD1 had on the setting. You didn't set your gain with the assistance of the DD1, you set your gain by ear...exactly the same as we suggested here. -

It used to be a widely held belief that the world was flat. If a guy walked in to a pub and asked a table of men who happened to be "rounders" if the world was flat, they'd say no it's round. But an individual sitting across the isle from them hears this and leans over to the guy and says "yeah, the guys at that table are just nuts. Walk up to any other table and they'll tell you it's flat ! "The world isn't flat, no matter how many other tables say that it is.
