http://www.caraudio.com/forums/thunderdome-forum-members-only/427504-%2475-flat-fee-sealed-enclosures-7.html If you go back a couple pages, the guy gives a description of the enclosure....one of the port walls wasn't even screwed in, etc. Think that *might* have been the thread where he got busted posting other people's work claiming it as his own, don't remember now & it's too long to read. If not, then it's elsewhere. Or if you're feeling frisky simply google Lambo911, Subtilis Audio, etc. It's not like he had done one or two things wrong....there are issues spread over many years of times he's fucked up and been caught in lies. As a matter of fact the Lambo911 username was banned from this very site, for reasons I don't know as they occurred before I was really active here. And Mark and Aaron typically only ban spammers or someone who has seriously fucked up, this site isn't ran like many others where users are banned for petty issues. SSA hold bans as a pretty serious infraction and use it as a means of last resort. I've been really active here since '09 and don't think I've seen more than maybe one or two users banned (other than spammers). Most forums ban atleast that many users per day. As I said before, just because he's a POS doesn't mean his business isn't successful. Look at eD, they were blasted for years for many of their antics and bullshit they pulled.....and succeeded just fine, up until recently which was completely unrelated to their terrible history.

Why choose? Just binge drink for the sake of binging...no excuses needed

Last time I had McDonald's chicken nuggets, which was probably 5 years ago, they gave me food poisoning. Haven't ate there since.

Just one of the many examples; On caraudio.com he posted pictures he'd stolen from the internet of other people's high quality installation and enclosures and claimed they were his own work. Using these stolen photos as "proof" of his quality craftsmanship, he offered to sell high quality enclosure to forum members at greatly reduced prices. A couple users bit and ordered enclosures......and while they did receive enclosures, they were so poorly built they were literally unusable. Subwoofer cut outs that weren't even circular, large gaps between panels, poorly secured panels, etc. His username at the time was lambo911.

Every report I've heard has described it exactly as that article. They found the injured fawn and called the DNR for assistance. The DNR basically told them to release to the wild and let it die, and it was illegal for them to keep it. They kept it anyways to rehabilitate it. When the DNR found out they went there to euthanize the deer, but by the time they got there the deer was released. So the DNR was bringing charges against them which could have resulted in 6 months (I believe) in jail plus fines. Friday following the news coverage is when the Governor basically told them to drop the case. If I was that cop I'd follow the jackass from DNR who pushed the case, and write him tickets left and right for unsafe lane changes, and the classic "Your tail-light is broken. No it's not. *bam* Now it is." Think that plan might backfire.....the DNR is the most powerful law enforcement agency in the state They basically have all of the power of every other state law enforcement agency, along with some power the others don't.

I'm in Indiana where this was obviously pretty big news. The newly elected Governor has "requested" the DNR re-evaluate the case. I believe last I heard the DNR was dropping the case against them.

I don't think it's as much of a prediction as it is a hope....

Mounting holes could be different, so "no problem" would depend on your ability to drill & tap new holes if necessary. If you can't do that then you would need to make sure the basket has the same mounting hole pattern. Were you planning to use an AQ recone kit? Not a great idea to build a sub out of random parts like most people do...they think it's "cool" that it's unique but reality is that most of them have no engineering behind them and they have no idea about the actual performance of the subwoofer. Most people with these custom subs can't even tell you what the T/S are.

You assume you are the only person with a stereo heard from outside of the vehicle driving down the road? That's the problem. It's not just you. Several years ago the son of a lady I worked with got a noise violation with a completely stock stereo in a late 80's style Cougar, which was obviously nothing special especially stock. So yeah, it happens.

Would taped wire ends cause voltage drop?
Impious replied to Truconcept's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The unconnected wire shouldn't be causing any voltage drop. If you haven't charged the battery, then that would be a first step. Though I don't think it's a great idea to have power wires connected to the source with tape on the end....doesn't take much for tape to come loose. The power wire should be fused; pull the fuse so the wire doesn't have power. -
Went better than expected. They have some in stock at a store more than 50 miles from me, told them I wasn't driving that far & they needed to have one sent to my local store. Guy said he could contact the auto center to see if they could arrange that. Didn't figure they would be willing to do that, and still might not as he hasn't talked to the auto centers yet....but I'm tired of having to jump my fucking car in 10* weather, so atleast it's a step in the right direction. They can and will ship from another store and should honor the price. Being a former employee, I've seen them do this countless times. I've also seen them screw people as well and charge them for shipping from the other store. Be very careful and check your receipt. If there is even a penny difference, get the manager in there ASAP and then threaten to call corporate. The guy never called me as promised, had both my work & cell #. Suggestions? My dad is looking into Napa specialty AGM batteries as I could get those at cost, but if they aren't as good I need the Diehard from Sears and need it soon, like in a day or 2, if this weather keeps up. I can't drive my car anywhere as there's a 90% chance it won't start.

And you can thank all of those who don't operate their stereo in a respectful manor for the increasingly harsh penalties. Though on the flip side, if you're applying common sense to the use of your stereo you shouldn't be in a situation where you end up getting in trouble with it anyways.....
-
Best thing to do is be respectful with your stereo so as to not disturb others, regardless of the law. It shouldn't need to be written into statutes, it's common courtesy. As a first step I would see if it was possible to contact the local PD, explain to them your understanding of the law and ask them (politely) to clarify so you better understand. That said if you go to court, I have a hard time believing you'd find a judge to side with you if the stereo was clearly and disruptively loud outside of the vehicle.....you probably deserved the ticket.

Mother fucker. Sears website doesn't show it available for pickup at the closets Sears. Bitching at an agent through chat. This isn't going to go well for him.

Well, might have answered my question. I guess looking at the Odyssey batteries the comparable 34/78 model is listed as being ~7" including the flange, looks like the Diehard is more or less a rebadged Odyssey.....so I'm going to guess it's just a typo on the Diehard page and go ahead and order it.
-
Question. Need a new battery for my car. Looking at the Diehard Platinum 34/78DT for my '94 Roadmaster. Here's my problem....the measurement section shows that the width of the battery is about 7/8 inches bigger than a standard 34/78 battery which should be ~7". Does their measurement just include the mounting lips, or are they really a little bigger than a standard 34/78? If it's really 7.875" at the base it's not going to fit.

what mono amp 60-100Wrms @ 4ohm ??
Impious replied to Tyan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Does it need to be Mini in size? What exactly are you using it for? -
And as proof that shitty business practices won't ruin a business, eD wasn't ran into the ground until well after Ben left.

My brother in law has obtain all sorts of jobs he's not actually qualified for, and I can only presume it's because he bullshits his way through an interview. He apparently just got a job paying ~$80K (which is upper middle class in our area) that he is entirely unqualified for. He has had 3 very similar albeit lower paying jobs in the past....and has been fired or laid off from all 3 of those positions in less than a year. As a hiring manager that would tell me his performance is substandard and/or he's an expendable/unnecessary to the success business, and wouldn't have any interest in hiring him. But some how he always manages to land another job he's unqualified for.....

KnuKonceptz Sound deadener? Kno Knoise.
Impious replied to swagger_wagon468's topic in Sound Deadening
I find that statement interesting. My CLD tiles from SDS have 8mil foil and is stiff and rather inflexible. The 80mil Knu states it has 7mil thick foil and flexes like paper.....wonder why an extremely small difference in foil thickness creates such an apparently large difference in flexibility -
I was comparing prices the "average" consumer would pay....no shipping for you, but I'd have to pay it so it factors in Mark & Aaron generally apply a DAF to their power ratings....they are conservative. On the other hand we don't know how the power handling of the SHD was rated. In reality you aren't necessarily comparing apples to applies. Still curious how the "price to performance doesn't seem to be there" when you're comparing it to a sub of equal price (shipping included) that won't even release TSP? Doesn't seem like you're able to compare price to performance when one driver was just released and the other driver has almost no information available on it.

how so All of the other forums are having some very uneducated debates about the Evil, it's cost, and SSA in general. Hence the reason I don't venture very far from SSA anymore. Too many douche-bags on the other forums. Too much time wasted arguing with them.
