Did I buy the wrong Incriminator woofer?

Since the other pertinent parameters change in proportion to Cms when Cms changes due to "break in", the net difference in response is typically well outside the audible threshold. I've not modeled every sub in the world, but I've yet to see one with an audible difference in response due changes in Cms as a result of breaking in the spiders.
  2. An alternator outputs current based on demand to maintain adequate system voltage. This is why your lights might dim when you suddenly increase current demand (turn AC on full blast, etc)...there is a bit of a lag between when the current is demanded and when the alternator can supply the additional current. Besides starting the car, this is what the battery is for...to supply the additional current needed during these sudden increases before the alt picks up the slack.Think about it logically....if there was only 100A of demand but the alt was producing 250A....where would the additional 150A of current "go"? Think of it this way.....current isn't just produced, it is drawn by the load. There has to be a demand for the current, which is based on the load and voltage. Simple test. Get a clamp meter and put it on your alt cable. Start the car with all accessories off and then gradually start adding loads by turning on accessories.

    amp dyno

Can you provide more details about how the THD and clipping are actually measured? Are the units calibrated prior to being sent to customers? What are they calibrated against if so? What is the accuracy of the device? What is the uncertainty?

    RCA's recommendation

Twisted pair doesn't mean shit for an unbalanced signal transmission, which is what 99.99% of car audio equipment uses including yours.Shielding is useful in an automobile environment. Twisted is not.
  5. For reference, you will not hear a difference between 1200w and 1700w no matter what subs you are using. So don't buy it thinking it will sound significantly louder. That said as pointed out headroom is a good thing and I would guess the larger amp would maintain a higher resale value as well, so if the price is the same no downside to the larger amp.

    Blues BL10 Modeling

Don't blame us when you post misinformation. That's not our fault. He's not posting misinformation, just opinion. Explicitly stating there is something extraordinary about them is misinformation. The rest is as Sean stated misinformed opinion, which is equivalently bad..

why is there no love for PSI here??

Agreed. If there is an OEM recone available for your sub, rather stupid to use anything else. This whole frankenwoofer thing that caught on with the internet crowd is one of the many ridiculous fads going on right now. Having a "custom" sub isn't "cool"...in most instances all you end up with is a turd of a sub that doesn't have any engineering behind it's design or even have known TS parameters.

    Blues BL10 Modeling

They are completely ordinary drivers. That's not an insult, just a fact. They behave identically to any other transducer, meaning they comply with all applicable laws of physics. They do nothing that can't be explained, and at small signals they will behave as the models predict. Also, 4cuft for four isobaric subs is identical to 8cuft for a pair of non-isobaric subs. For 10s, that's fucking HUGE. So saying they are "only" in 4cuft is a little comical.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I don't watch much sports because my wife doesn't like them. But since she's working 3rd shift I've been watching the last couple World Series games. Some of the statistics they keep boggle my mind. "The batter is only hitting .157 with runners in scoring position after taking a first pitch strike from a right handed pitcher with the wind blowing in a southeasterly direction while wearing his red Nike shoes with black batting gloves and pink jock strap"

    Tweeter Location

Passive I've never had luck separating the tweeter from the mid. Aside from that the sail panels/a-pillars are about the worst thing you can do to a speaker.....too many reflective surfaces.
  12. 3:1 gain overlap is standard operating procedure in the SQ realm. 0db at the HU, -9 or -10db at the amps. They are generally using much more dynamic music though, far less compressed than most of the music daily systems play today.

    4th order subs

4th order is a ported enclosure. Are you referring to ported enclosures, or a 4th order band pass?

It's an Internet forum. How is your life affected if your post is neg'd? It's not.

  16. Had nothing to do with my post Sir, I tried to find the owner to ask him some questions about one of his amplifier brands ... but no luck. I'm not sure if he was at World Finals or not ... There was no Manufacturer's booth for them ... Again ... Considering that the thread title reads ... My post was primarily on the performance of the amplifiers during World Finals ... Nothing more ... Great. And my statement you quoted there was regarding the douchbaggery of the company owner. Glad we were able to get that cleared up. I was really confused for a moment.
  17. I doubt the amps are any better or worse than any other internet based, Asian build house rebadger. Order minumum quantity of a product, choose your heat sink and they slap your sticker on top and ship it across the ocean to you. But the owner has proven time and time again with his actions that his business is not one that should be supported.

    Misc

  19. They are your run of the mill, order them like it's a take out menu Asian build house amplifier. I don't see what there is to get excited about, and I'd be concerned if your tech wasn't able to spot that. To be honest I doubt the amps are "bad", but nothing you couldn't order and start a business selling with enough capital to meet minimum order quantities, just like the majority of these other internet companies. But Kevin is a douche and unethically promotes his products, aside from his past business issues, so I would highly recommend anyone against supporting his business.

Flange on my VWR's isn't bad. Actually had to notch the mounting hole about half the flange width to make room for the terminals.

They did, the Subduction line has been around for a while. That 12" is their recent redesign of the 12" model. They had a new 15" model in the works, has yet to come to be though. Here is the thread from their forum: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/creative-sound-solutions/34213-sdx15-mk-ii.html
