Time for eyeballin' Those jimmy's are 38 or 42 wide (I think it's 38)--it's not touching the sides so 34ish the box is almost as wide as it is tall probably 30-32 and it's atleast 22 deep roughly 10.5 gross, with roughly 2 cubes port displacement (if it doesn't make a bend at the back) so roughly 8.5 ish net off eyeballin' so probably plausable that it's 7 cubes being my eyeballin' isn't real accurate..

X2.... that box looks huge
-
OK... I figured it failed or you just didn't end up doing it. did it lower your score at your peak?

It's amazing how many of these threads get started i.e. how many people make order mistakes They usually respond though
-
did you ever try out your polyfill idea??? I don't remember seeing you post about it.

$135 shipped... (shipping is high due to size of course) roughly 26(d) x 17(t) x 34(w) tuned 35ish

We had a solo x 18 running daily off 6 k in my buddies Full size blazer.. Sounded good in one of the many boxes we built. the smaller the box the Better it sounds (smaller within reason)---didn't change much output either I've still got the "pretty" box that sounded good that I'd be happy to sell and ship

soundgarden makes for a good turnout... James is getting louder.... what'd he run this time???? still the type x's??? The eclipse had a big jump too... what'd he change? **feeling a little better today... still lacking motivation... (don't feel THAT good yet...) Maybe I need a Beer ****Jeremy's coming down tuesday to break/build/test some stuff... I've got to get ALL my batts in the truck.. too bad they'r hanging out in the basement--they're 80+lbs each too much to carry upstairs (well by the tenth one it's too much ) got one woofer built... need two more... than hopefully 3 spairs to take with to finals.. haven't started on the 6 gang amp rack yet... -

sorry I couldn't make it Joe. Truck's torn apart and I'm sick as heck... hope you had a good turnout. -
the kicker kx and zx series both had issues with all the knobs turning--that's part of why the design got changed. people who compete just put clear packing tape over the knobs to keep them in place.

truck is gutted.... Note for new build..... no more burping 10-24 hz on 3.4K/woofer.... It broked me woofas! the one sub that posted the 150db at KY finals only had one good coil left... apparently 10 cubes for 1-15 is too much at sub 30hz woofer got out of alignment and scratched the coil (probably when it was hitting the back of my seat--forgot to move the driver's seat forward)... the other three coils on the sub are dead shorted together... not burnt... physically shorted due to mechanical damage from over-excursion/alignment issues... Not the woofer's fault... my fault.. Subs are getting rebuilt today, box is getting braced and modded a bit... 3-15's will be dropped in by tomorrow... *hopefully* I'm rebuilding the amp rack and trying to relocate the batts--*so I can fit more amps*

I've talked with PAP personally, they seem like an OK group. Their Canada Rep stole some of my photos/specs/powertesting/ect so I contacted the company directly. the fella I talked with seemed nice enough. if the price tag was smaller I'd like to give them a try. never seen these in person...

Have you done anymore work to this???? I'm getting ready to head outside and gut my truck for the rebuild
-
Bought the cherokee before I went to vegas... too bad it's naked at the moment--so I probably won't have time to work on it. what do you want for the 10?

if I get something built......I'll be there in S3 -
I'll see if I can make saturday.... the truck is non-operational at the moment... I may bring the cherokee.... hmmmmmmm.... the Jeep is louder than the truck
-
sold all my 10's so no can do unless you're donating them

X2 on the headrest score.... from what I understand drive by responds to lower frequencies better---my truck is probably a driveby beast but I have no way to test and tune for it (I'm sure my neighbors wouldn't stand for me testing for that in the driveway) You really need to get the mic set up outside the vehicle.. and set it up exactly how driveby is-do a sine sweep to find the peak--watch out for reflecting sound off buildings... it changes things quite a bit...--so try to test in the wide open.

****UPdate finally**** at KY finals I found I had a woofer that was bad--(left the gap at some point and damaged the coil--probably when I was playing around burping 10hz ) So at the show I had to do my run on just two of the amps (tested output at 2500ish watts) and only one of the 15's (the other acting as a passive radiator-had to stay in the box since I didn't have a plug) it posted up a 150.0db good enough for first loser... winning score was 150.1db... So I'm Getting ready for a rebuild for finals. trucks getting 4 dmx 12's or 3 dmx 15's, the 3 15's will use 3 of the p1500's (or 6 if they'll fit) or the 4 12's will see the same 4-pack of the P1500's The 15's give abour 15% more surface area, but will have less power handling---which shouldn't be an issue being I've got to burp on only 140amps of fuse---meaining I'll only see about 2500-3000 watts before the fuse pops... the pair was being burped on less than 1800w for the 150db mark what would you guys like to see.... 4-12's of 3-15's ??

2-12 have more cone area than a single 15. from my experience with trunk cars, rear firing the port and the woofers yeilds the best results.. I always test every car (it's the only way to be sure you have the best alignment for your vehicle)--I have a small box for a single 10 that I use for testing. your fold down arm rest is a big help in transfering the bass into the cabin

I just made that trip... well a similiar one... from LA to flagstaff az, through NM, TX, OK (got pulled over in OK for doing 42 in a 40, then had the dogs called to search my car----looking for large quantities of cocaine) through KS, MO, IA, and finally home in IL Flagstaff has a TON of stuff around it. you could spend a week there. Other than that I did a straight drive so I dunno I'm sure I missed tons of stuff.. (after my drug search, I was more than ready to be home)

Wow, Great find!
-
you had the blazer? I was there... didn't realize you were
-
only in car testing will tell.... every vehicle is different. Even small changes can net a pretty big difference: I'm building a slightly different box for my truck as we speak... all I'm changing is a bigger port flange and moving the woofers further to the driver's side.... I had the subs centered before... from some small scale testing (12's instead of 15's) I can gain .3ish db from just moving the woofers over further.
-
he's refering to my non-walled ram, my tuning/port area is restricted---if I tune any higher I run into even more mechanical issues with the woofers. Granted if I'd stop burping at 18hz I wouldn't have that problem **my port area/length is at it's max... can't get any bigger with my desired tuning... I will be rebuilding with an increase in box size as well as a slight increase in port area... and some bracing this time
