anybody have a dust cover blow up on em? went to blast it today and i noticed a bad clicking noise comming from the back and then i looked and the dust was still there just blown apart. any fix to it? super glue?
-
so take out pieces, shove shirt in gap, grind down the old epoxy, then epoxy new one in? just kinda strange that the new sub blew the dust cap and the older one i have in there is fine... going to shoot IA an email for a new dust cap. epoxying over the old one with a new one would be a problem? i figure its such a light part of the sub it wouldn't make much of a difference...

well the subs are vertical pointed at the doors (i know horrible idea) and the port is pointed up at the rear. had to shoulder tackle it into place so removing the box might prove difficult to change it around. i just kinda want to glue it back together and give it a good layer of fiberglass and do the same to the other side so it doesnt happen. strange it only happened to the new subwoofer as the old one didn't have a problem and i haven't turn my system all the way up just yet.
-
well as it sits right now i cant afford to remove the sub. can a new dust bap be put on while still in the box?
-
well i just got mine hooked up and dang. shook the rafters of the gas station and everything. anyways i need to reinforce mine as the whole box flexes so bad and i think the port busted loose. i knew i should of put some reinforcement inside the box but was to lazy and now im paying for it. other than that its loud as hell and im pretty satisfied with the end product. my thanks to the whole incriminator audio team.

well my 3000d just arrived and i looked on the forums and i wanted to wire my RE XXX to a 1 ohm load. well i've never wired up a monoblock with 2 outputs. so should i wire each 2 ohm coil parallel to each output or run both pairs to the terminal cup then to the sub?

brand spankin new 3000d now need help!
jeepbassmonkey replied to jeepbassmonkey's topic in Sundown Audio
i know my ohms how to wire parallel or series or a combo of both parallel/series. just new to the concept of dual outputs on a monoblock and not a 2-channel amp. so what i got is that there are 2 amps in the single frame wire in parallel unlike a 2 channel which are not linked at all unless you bridge them. will do the dual 12 gauge as 8 gauge for the woofer would be tedious. -

big dual chambered box... one firing up and other toward the rear... going to be a tight squeeze. will be worth it too. got a sundown 3000d to go with it.

any possibilities on a bigger than 21 incher? maybe 24 or even 30 inch? would be pretty darn sweet to have a 30 inch spl sub...

looks good but could hear the slapping of metal on metal. might want to fill any spots up even if all u have is a sock. that's how i silenced my buddies 3rd brake light

i don't know but i threw my amp into protect for the first time about a week ago... chains hang low at full blast... then just magically came out of it when i turned it down. i just don't want to buy an amp that's 1 ohm stable (like most amps are now adays) and have it blow cause it's at .75 ohms.

2nd battery help
jeepbassmonkey replied to dtcharneski's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i agree run the + to + and ground individually make sure you tie down the 2nd battery and bolt the ground through the frame. i'm running 3 amps and i do fine with a 300 amp fuses from front to rear. -
sorry can't put some out for a while buddy took the jeep and i just got me wisdom teeth out so can't go driving around all dosed up. i'm seriously thinking screw it and purchasing another one. but the 4 ohm coils come as 3 ohm so i need to find an amp that does 4000 at .75 daily and not fry up.

i put a second one up oh and someone left me a comment saying they sold 4 of these to a guy with a yukon running 6k. i want to see that video.

i own a 06+ re xxx 12 and it hit low as a mother. i have yet to hear a 12 go as low as the re xxx. the only trade off is it really doesn't capture the higher end of the low freq. i played 10 hertz test tones on it and took everything my amp had and it never once started to smell, not once the whole year i had it. i have the dp21 even though it is louder it doesn't come close to getting as low as the re xxx. it's always warm bass not boomy or sloppy but clean and pretty gosh darn loud the lower you go. also the excursion on it is incredible. i thought it was going to break after it threw the cone up about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. all in all it's a great sub but would work better in pairs and a little bit more than rated power would really bring it out.

sorry for the wait but just been a little busy. here as promised the dp-21 video. i don't know how to put in on here so here is the link. m262NilUNDw

just got home and its raining outside so i'll wait till it's done raining i have lollipop so your wish i my command. need to take a shower too! should be up in about a couple of hours.

well i went to crank on it a little bit this morning and wow. with the port aimed at me it feels like it's sucking me in! it's pretty gosh darn loud in my opinion but i've only herd so many subs. the local shop here is working on their expedition and putting a jackhammer in the back so i'm going to try to get a good comparison but i think the jackhammer is going to have it. didn't start smelling like it did after the video i shot. will put up another video soon when i get some time.
-
sorry for not answering been underway so no internet. it wangs good but that wasn't even full power. just installed it so need time to break it in before i really light it up. it's loud but until it is broken in i'll be able to determine weather it lives up to the name. i think i might of screwed up the port so i just might make a box the same size but with a much smaller port to get the full potential. it sounds real nice and i think it is even better than my re xxx 12 but it can hit the lows as the xxx can. will post more when it's all nice and broken in.

well i'm finally done and might i say wow! only cranked it bout 1/2 way and i'm pleased on the sound except i get a kinda warble sound on the higher end of the frequancy. vid will come once i tie everything down and park outside of my neighborhood (military housing so military rules sigh).
