just in case you were still wondering about the gain. The purpose of the gain is to match the voltage of the HU with the amp. ""ITS NOT A VOLUME CONTROL."" set it once and leave it where it is. If you dont have a occiliscope use a DMM then fine tune by ear. If you dont have any of the forementioned do the following. Set your HU were you would normally have the volume knob. Now play a 40-45 hz tone and turn the gain up slowly till you hear the sub-sound changing(normally were clipping starts) then back off slightly and ....you are set. :bigclap: Post some pics dude

the box is going in a chevy TB 02..so theres gona be plenty of space..and im going to have this daily... Sorry not sure on the car as we dont get those here, but I take it its and SUV. If that is the case you might considder subs up port back. Tune it around 32-34 hz. 2 loaded BL's should work nicely with a SAz 3000D

Hi Jason, a couple of my favorites bands now are Divine Heresy, A Perfect Murder, Diecast and Born of Osiris, along with the classics of Pantera and Megadeth. No thanks you can have your alaskan winters. The ones in minnesota are bad enough. Would 8's make good midbass drivers? I thought about mounting 2 of those in my rear deck and then go with 6in in the doors with tweets in pillar pods. Also curious about setting crossover points. Keep them steep or gradually slope them into another driver.I can go as much as 36db slope. What do you guys think? i think try to blend your crossovers.it brings along some cancellation but is sounds the best this way. 8;s make for killer mids. Some of these crazy guys even use those Saz E8 drivers for mids. You might want to check with bigjohn

just to add there are also a lot of other veriables that come into play. Box tuning. Loading and the list go;s on. Maybe you can start by telling the guys what car you have and what your goal with this will be. You already mention loud, but does that meen for loud daily, do you give preference to loud or you want a good measure of both? ...and if you are willing to pay the shipping there are a few good builders in this forum. some freelance others make a living from it. Maybe have a look at their threads under the topics.

I dont think its bad its just I think a single port is much easier to get right. Also your box will most likely weitgh less.
-
hi welcome. from what you list down you should already be over the 120 DB range. A lot have to do with the install. make sure you have enough curent for your gear. Perhaps tell us what you are hoping to achieve then perhaps we can better guide you. Dont 4 get to mention what ride you are having and how much space you are willing to sacrifice. Remember a good soundsystem does not produce bass only ... all though that is the most fun part for a few people on here

am I smelling a build log in the air>?

any particilar reason for the dual ports?

no expert but it sounds about right

I dont know Scott said a single saz 3000D will do for a set of loaded BLZZZZZ as you put it. I think he should know. Make sure you have the electrical to support it though. Whats more should you want to go overboard someday the SAZ3000d will do 5000 RMS on 16V

not to mention that the install makes up a big part of this small percentage.

Hahah you guys are indeed entertaining, but I have learnt a thing or two. So its safe to go with the specs as posted in the first post or should I make minor adjustments? thanks for all your input

Car; lancer GLX (sedan)i.e. with a boot Speakers: 2x loaded Fi BL's 12's box slot port common chamber The goal is loud daily and I was told 32hz will work well. According to my dodgy calculater the below specs will give 31.44 Hz before a single 45 corner and a 1" front baffle. obviously the one side will have to be lengthened by .25'' ...i think box with 36" box height 14" depth 22.5" wood thickness .75" for most part of it(exept for front baffle -->other ideas welcome) sq port height 12.5" sq port with 4.5" sq port L1 17.25" sq port L2 5" cheers
