help with engine noise
joselmartinez replied to joselmartinez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
yes jim i do have ana ipod conected, i'm going to try your your way. 4runner i use the audiocontrollc7 as a signal processor between the radio and the amps, and all edquipments are grounded to the negative that came from the battery, about the head unit, i have to wait because...$$$$$.... it's really hard to make, and i can't afford a new head unit. bigj...my friend i answer your last pm, what's up................i do did the upgrade on the wiring from the engine to the bat, to the chasis and the alternator, or you mean replace all the ground points between the engine and the chasis?.......that's a little though and you know what i mean with this cars. so guys i'm going to aply all your recommendations and post the results, but i need to know if the way i ground the equipmets it's the right way. I almost forgot that the current power to the system is 15.3v, thru the voltage regulator of the alternator, it is like that cause I'm a car service driver and we use a trunk mounted 2way radio wich uses this power to transmit at 225 watts of power( the average is 65 used by goverment agencies) so you can have an idea. thanks a lot. -
16 volt setup question
joselmartinez replied to fritosaregood's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well first of all what kind of car do you have?......Ford, Lincoln and Mercury are the only ones that have an internal regulator on the emc and the onboard computer and they can hold up to 18 volts, but it is not recommended to pu it hihger than 15.6 or lower than 11.8 if thats enough for your system, go ahead, or else make sure yous system support it. -

Do I need a bigger alternator?
joselmartinez replied to mwoehr's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
hey have you check this, it my help www.9thgencorolla.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1224631 now before you upgrade your alt, find what is the highest volt that your system suport, specially your ECU, 'cause as far as I know Toyota's does not handle more than 15.6 or 16, so I strongly recommend that you do that first. good luck!! -

my goal SQ, my budget $2,500.00 and still don't have shoppin list. this alternator I get it here with a friend that works in a junk yard of lincolns and fords, this baby was installed in a ambulance, but check the best part, I pay $75.00 fo it and $120 for set up ( with external digital voltage regulator ) and mounting. actually my system generate 15.3volts stable ( either 800 rpm or 6,000 )........that's the beauty of NY!!!!. anyway this is it, my budget is limited du to the latest financial situations but if I can't get something nice over the Internet before winter, I'll have to give it a try with the locals. by the way, I saw your car, that's crazy man, those are "big wheels", what did you do with the rear air suspention to fit those rims? also the trunk set up, very nice, I saw a pair of my dream subs the "Fi 12 btl", it must sound extemely nice and loud, the only thing I notice is that you have a lot of waste space all around the system, isn't thre any way to take advantage of it?, cause here when we install extra batteries for the two way system we use both rear corners, and for the amps we install them behind the seat on top of a nice fit piece of MDF board. well if you ever need something for your car like body parts, interior or mechanical, just pm or email, and I'll help you out with those, remember that here we have more town cars than any other state in the country, and the parts are very cheap. -

thanks man............but no, I didn't buy it, I recive it as a gratitud for a favor, you know!!!! anyway, I'm about to start breaking my system and I was looking for information about this amp. the amps that I'm planning to buy are the Power Acoustik BAMF 1200/4 - 1600/4 - 5500/1D, and the subs also from them STW-10. already have the alternator upgraded to 325 amps, cause we use two way radios and those guys take a lot of currents every time you use them, also oredered 1/0 awg from Soundquest (my budget don't reach to high brands). so if you have any suggestion, I still haven't bought any amps, or any subs ( by the way, the subs have to be shallow mounted, cause I don't have that much space availabe, and I work as a carservice driver, so I need as much trunk space as possible). so I see that you have an LTC also, I use to have one of those in 2002, brand new, but i have to get rid of it cause it reach the 400,000 miles and was not good enough for the bussiness, so I'd love to see some pics of our ride, just send them over or where I can find them. -
Need Advice on Alternators..
joselmartinez replied to Dee's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
try this also http://www.db-starter-alternator.com, and the other option is to install a volatage regulator and modify the diode plate circuitry, that's what we do here in NY.
