Thanks guys. That was a fast reply. I'm looking forward to running a couple of the i series 10's in the near future. I know TC made my all time favorite driver (Crystal CMP 10) and when I get a couple of the drivers from you I may see if you can get my CMP 10 reconed for me with the same cone and surround as your drivers. How would you say 2 of the i series 10's would do with around 800wrms for the pair?

I have a few questions about this company, if you don't mind. Who owned this company? How do you sell your drivers? What I mean by that is are they sold and manufactured on a pre order basis like the ED stuff was or are they made THEN sold? I'm liking what I see with these drivers A LOT. I like the TC parts too. I thought some of the companies they were building for had very nice subs and these look to be no excetion. If you don't want to answer here you can PM me.

As far as production drivers I think the RE XXX is the king right now. 32mm one way linear to the Brahma's 28mm one way linear. BUT both RE and TC have 45mm dumaxed drivers in prototype stages right now. They look very similar to each other too.

1) Rainbow Reference series-I was at a shop looking for "the best" one day and the owner told me to check out what he was running. I though "the best" would be around $600 and boy was I wrong but man they sounded amazing. 2) AVI Tri-Star-I love the dome midrange sound a lot. The midbass was in about .3 cubes sealed and had a lot of punch for a 6.5. The tweets were loud and smooth with no harshness. Really great setup. 3) Kicker RS6c-These were very nice in my Cavi. I thought that Kicker should have made a 3 way set of these for sure. I think there were one of the best for the money ever made. I liked the strong midbass and the tweet stayed smooth and got very loud. 4) Crystal CPE 3 way-The crossovers were junk but once you went active with them they were amazing. I would actually rate these right behind the AVI's if it weren't for the fact that the crossovers didn't do their job. The midbass couldn't go all the way down like they should but once you smoothed them out they were really sweet sounding. I think the tweet could have been a little stronger too but overall they were nice. 5) Focal Utopia's-I know they are at the bottom of my list below some costing 1/10 their price but the tweets were harsh and the sound wasn't well balanced. Probably a bad install. I know the Crystals shouldn't be on this list but man I got them to sound great in my car. It took a bit of messing around with but in the end they were the best sounding set I have ever OWNED. I think if I had went active with the Kickers and ran a midbass they would have spanked the Crystals.

Tired JL Audio and want mag's,good choice or not?
ss454 replied to caraudionoob's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have owned many great subs and I would take a mag over the w6v2 anyday! -
What measurements do you get with the seat in your normal position? There should be plenty of room to do a 1 12 install with the amp on one side and the sub on the other. I bet there is plenty of room to do a 2 10 install with the amp in the middle and the 10's on each side. A buddy of mine had a Sound Stream SPL 15 behind the seat of a regular cab toy with plenty of leg room and plenty of box. I think he had 3 cubes total. It wanged hard with just 200w!

Help me out. I can't afford a ton of batteries so I can only go into a class with minimal bat requirement. :boxin:

How about changing the current names from SI Magnum D2 12-->SI 357 SI Magnum D2 15-->SI 44 Both Magnums and one is a little bigger than the other :boink:
-
I know for a fact that you can get MUCH more than 1 cube in a Toyota single cab truck.
-
Oops^that was me! Sorry!
-
Not if everything else is "CHEAP"
-
Mitek? They own Autotek right? Hell I say just call them D2's! Or D2-Magnums! I wonder what is going on with the 9500 series from MTX and DD. Who will keep the name? Also the XXX series from RE and Soudstream! I think that is crap myself. We can help you come up with a killer name though guys.
-
I was waiting on Stang to review the XXX. He HAS owned a lot of subs and does very good reviews. He also has owned a lot of Component sets if you guys at SI want to hook him up with a set he will put it up against some of the best I am sure and give you a very professional and unbiased review.

The Alchemy series are very nice. They are about on par with the Diamond M6's and those are sweet. Are they still around?
-
TC Sounds used to build them for Crystal but that was long ago. Just about anyone can recone them for you. I know TeamPSI (David from RE) said he could recone my CMP 10 for $60 with the seamless cone and surround and any coil I want. Not a bad deal to me.
-
I would have snuck out the back with the dog and let it bite them in the ass! I hate people who steal!
-
I would get the XXX. The two SE's will not have as much clean stroke as 1 XXX 15.
-
I know of no $88 memphis sub that can touch an RE SExxx. That sub was not an official line either. As long as they make the SE you can get them. It is just the XXX coil in an SE. Better thermal power handling. RE builds their own subs. They may get parts from other countries (I don't really know) but they are put together here with pride by some skilled ass builder. Hell Memphis doesn't make their own crap. Powerbase makes the subs and chunglam makes the amps (the D' at least) so they are getting that same "crap" shipped from other countries. How many big audio companies even make their own equipment anymore. MMATS, US Amps, Zapco?
-
Not too bad but at the kicks and with 10kw. That is the trouble with too many subs in a install. Kind of hard to get that sound going together. 32hz is impressive though. Not many could do that number at that frequency.
-
If each sub needed 2cf then it would be 4. :boxin:
-
I didn't know they were A/B. I thought they were D's. Oh well......4 1500's should rock too. I am still waiting. No news is good news sometimes you know!
-
Is this the Atomic amps you are considering buying? If so they look killer!
-
Put me on the sell to list because I have been waiting on something like this for a while. 2 under the rear seat of my truck and 1 in the console of my jeep should sound great! I might do one under the dash to get that upfront bass! :boink:
-
There are too many options in this range to make a sure decision. You can get 2 Infinity perfect 10's for that price at www.cbrstereo.com and and Orion H2 10 for that price. 500w is a tough decision though. I loved the Crystal CMP off that much power. I think you can get a L7 12 for that much or 2 L5 10's. Man I would pull my hair out if I had to make a decision for another person. :boxin:

Looks good man. I have a bunch of Orange Osage curing in the shop now. This looks like a good project for it. I am also building some guitar bodies out of it. I think the Kit you bought is the one for me!
