    new XT v3 amps ?

the XTv3 is by far our best selling amp in our line up despite being the mid price level. we do cadence and phoenix gold as well. all our dealers are pretty happy with the v3s. and the most common install is having an 800.4v3 powering speakers upfront and rear bridged 4ohms to either an SRX or SEX series subwoofer. with this set up you can expect to be quite loud and clear without too much drain on the electricals. amp does not heat up much also because of the class D design. only issue i have on this amp that it sounds better with the gains turned up between the 10-12 o'clock position. good luck on your quest...

    New products for 2009

i saw these in the talk audio forum. apparently its from this year's CES wherein RE showed off their new stuff. nice looking amp!
  4. if its for "LOUD SOUND QUALITY" then you would be ok. take a look at the MD43s, we found pretty good for loud applications. i've owned (and still have one installed in my competition car) several Genesis Series III amplifiers and they really get the job done. looks beautiful, too! very expensive though. friends of mine who regularly compete in the local EMMA events use Steg, Sinfoni, Brax and Helix with great success. i am actually now experimenting with a couple of AXTU600 tube amps from US Amps to see how it will do with my Focal speakers. but haven't gotten any serious work with the car yet. i am sure other people here could mention other brands. i been hearing good things about the Zeds but never owned or listened to one. good luck in your search!
  5. i have owned both and the merlins have more power to spare. for a dedicated SQ build i would go with other renowned SQ amplifiers. HTH

    re sx sub

that should do well on mostly SQ. its a bit different if you want something for playing really loud or competition. my SX12 is powered by an MD1D and it still shakes my car a lot we have a lot of success with the RE SXs over here in the Philippines and i could say they could take power up to about 1,500 to 2,000 cleanly for music. and we were burping an SX18 with about 5,000 watts during competition with an spl box. it just depends on how you designed your system.

    2008 Mazda Miata Build

i've always been a big fan of miatas. i have friends who are part of the local miata club and the mods were jsut awesome. they were more for performance like turbo kits, Nos kits, Cusco suspensions, etc. not so much on the sound system a they try to conserve as much space as they could. good luck with the build. i had a friend who went with kicks and the soundstage and imaging was top notch.

    Volt Meters

the stingers are pretty good and price is very reasonable. its easy to read and relatively trouble free. there is pot where you can adjust manually to calibrate the voltage on the stinger to match your DMM reading. good luck!

    New products for 2009

Greg can issue a more definite answer on this. IMO it might be more on labeling but you got to admit they are nice looking amps i checked the internals and its a bit beefier than the old XT amps. still waiting on our test car. sheesh! @jason907 the silver was the first proto they showed us and i honestly do not know if they will still come in silver. but the black looks really good...
