not relly on the same car and wirings but speakers and HU are the same. Im simply basing it from the learnings and experiences i got from Home Audio. Just not sure dude if it really dosent apply anymore to car audio. install is extremely important in home audio, where would you be without properly designed cabinets and crossovers for the drivers in a home theater "speaker." your seating arrangement, room shape/size, speaker location, size, power and the accoustics of the room itself all play an important role in how home audio sounds... think of a car as the same way, perhaps even more flexible as it is much easier to "deaden" an entire car than it is to build a "quiet" room for your theater.

finals are done and i may have convinced one of the girls in my class to take me to happy hour at hollister brewing co. what a way to end the semester.

ugh i have a soc final tomorrow. our teacher has a reader full of newsweek and vanity fair type articles, nothing credible but she acts as though they are all scientific experiments and we get tested on them. i really hate regurgitating information i do not agree with.

well i found my answer today, the only way to get lossless audio formats into a receiver without the hd audio decoders or hdmi input would be to process the audio into analog 7.1 @ the playback device end. you can bitstream the lossless audio via optical but without the capability to decode that bitstream it does me no good. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1075846

ok, so i am confused as to whether or not i need a new receiver to utilize the lossless audio formats available on blu ray discs. i am currently sourcing all my audio bitstream over s/pdif (optical). my receiver has 192 kHz/24-Bit DAC for All Channels as well as 8 ch discrete analog inputs and a pure direct setting. after watching Dark Knight on blu-ray last night i felt as though the surround in the film was a little mushy and my receiver reads out "dolby digital" while it is processing. I'm pretty sure standard dolby digital does not utilize discrete surround and rear channels. this is what i found about dolby true hd from their website regarding s/pdif connections (i do not use hdmi or analog inputs as of now): "Eventually, A/V receivers will have direct access to Dolby

which color pill did you take after he told you it was an ongoing joke and the website was really the matrix? really dude, i'm just jokin around, essentially that's what was happening in the other thread too, right? (i did not bother to read it)

That's quite disturbing . I've seen this done before, although it was a guy on a motorcycle. He simply drove in between the posts of the chain link fence. It will give enough to allow you to slide under it and still remain intact. Had the cop done the same thing and not hit the pole, he'd have caught up to the vehicle. i WILL remember that if i get in a high speed chase at night!

the longer this post goes on the more of a jakcalope you are making out of yourself.

sounds great. :bigclap: post some pictures when you get the woofer and start installing stuff! i think your going to be happy with a larger enclosure. getting as large an enclosure as possible will be good with limited power on deck.

my saz-1500 works like a champ. i need a new vehicle to start a new project in, then more sundown amps and advice will be needed! i'm out of space and money right now..

i think between a 2 or 3 inch wide port that runs the height of your box (a slot vent) will work fine. adjust port size and box tuning with your box calculator to find a design that gets the right box volume and tuning frequency for your woofers and enclosure space limitations. the problem you will run into with too small a port is port noise. i'm waiting for someone more knowledgeable to chime in but it has something to do with the velocity of air in the port area. it will depend on the woofer you choose, the manufacturer should have enclosure recommendations for each woofer size and type, following these guidelines and using a modeling program should keep you in the clear with most woofers.

I have 2 amplifiers one for each voice coil-Possible?

there's your answer! -
well it's 45 degrees in santa barbara which means i probably cant wear shorts and flip flops so i am screwed. i don't even know how to wear shoes anymore. this sucks. whats snow?

this thead compares the two woofers: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...14193&st=15 the havoc requires only .6cu net sealed according to their website. your limiting factor at this point appears to be your amplifier.

wow dark knight was amazing. i need a new receiver that can decode hd audio though. definitely the best quality blu ray disc i've seen so far. i'm not sure if they did this in theaters or on dvd but the aspect ratio of the film switches around during the movie, i've never seen anything like that before but it worked. on really large pan shots they jump to a full 1.85:1 and the screen would get wider at other times. really trippy.
