I had the day off so I upgraded some of my stock grounds. I'm not finished yet with everything, but I had time to make some progress. I added a ground from the alternator to the battery. I didn't have enough black wire boots, so I had to use some red ones, I'll replace them later. Alternator ground Alternator wire headed to the battery Engine ground to battery Here is the stock body ground to the battery Prepping the area... 0g FTW Changed out the terminals All done!

Alpine 9887 vs. PioneervP9800BT
KickinAudio replied to hayes55987's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Imprint is awesome. I think it's different than Pioneer as it measures delay by frequency, not distance. I may be wrong this. I own the 980BT and love the bluetooth. Calls are clear, and I like talking hands free. With the Apline, you'll have to add a box. The ipod menu is great, and better than Apline's in my opinion. I don't like the simple text Apline's screen shows. I think the Pioneer shows more songs on the display than Alpine, and this is big for me because I use the Ipod every time I'm in the car. -
alternator voltage booster
KickinAudio replied to dustin420's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Looks like a peice of plastic, there is no detail of what's involved. Buy it and let us know though, I could always use some more voltage... -

I attempted to download the IASCA rules today from IASCA's website (that looks and works like it was created by an 8 year old) and they require an account for download. For what reason, I have no idea. They also locked the PDF's so you can't print them. Anyway, I got the files another way and uploaded them to FloridaSPL.com/iasca (no account needed)

Maybe take a drive to Destin while you're there.

I'm in the area, but won't be there. Panama City is dead in my opinion. Enjoy the beaches though.

It always nice seeing a sounddeadning install.

Do NOT even call HO. Excessive Amperage is one of the few companies that make alternators for import cars.

Damplifier is indeed worth it. I'm buying it slowly over time, I enjoy it's effects. 3 layers? Wow. Pics??

What's OP? What does this mean? You listen between the volumes of 40 and 62? Why does the AUX have to be on +4? -
accidents are so fascinating. Must be a very interesting job. I like the one of the towtruck towing a trucktruck with a car on it hahaha

I would recommend you pay an experienced alarm installer to install your alarm when you finally get set on one. You seem pretty concered about theft, you're either in a bad part of town or you worry a lot. Before looking at an alarm you should double check on your insurance coverage and be sure you know what is covered, what is not, and what other insurance options you have. Having good insurance first, will of course insure your mindstate of theft. As far as an alarm, determine if you really want a remote start or not. Your vehicle might be a more involved then others, but if you're paying someone to do it right why worry about it? I suggest you purchase a 2-way alarm from a major alarm company (DEI, CompuStar, CODE). I suggest this because most of the time, you'll be in range of your car and your 2-way alarm will keep you notified of your vehicles status. It'll wake you up at night, or alert you in an area where you may not be able to hear your vehicles siren. If someone bumps your vehicle, but doesn't set the alarm completely off, your 2-way will still warn you that you had a light impact. Having a 1-way alarm will just leave you in the dark, and unaware if you're not within hearing range of your vehicle. Also don't be cheap with an alarm, if you cannot afford the one you like, save your money and don't install gear untill you can. I bought my alarm on ebay, and got a super deal. Review - Get fimiliar with your insurance policy (know whats covered) Determine if you want a remote start and if you'd use it (they normally cost more) Research 2-way alarm's from major alarm companies and compare features Purchase, and pay an experienced alarm technician to install your alarm Sleep well at night
