These are my measurements now... 15hx33dx36w I was wondering if it is possible to fit the 18" Bl tuned to around 32hz in my trunk. and what would be the best setup, sub firing into cabin, port back?? Need ideas for the enclosure. I am going to run it on a saz-1500d. I did at one time have a L7 in a 6.0^3 box. It fit just fine. any help is apreciated! i put the new measurements up, i went out there and measure it out, width between strut towers. height was at the trunk tensioners and depth was just depth... keep in mind i have the trunk lid hinges to clear......

it's about the money though. being a student in high school and workin 18 hrs. a week, plus my flight training really kills my money. so I figure one 15" will be fine for me. The 6.0 cu ft. box fit just fine through my trunk.

good idea. lol gotta sacrafice some things right?

alright thanks for the help. what is the most efficent setup for the 15" Bl I want loud, but not crap sounding. I was thinking maybe 32-33hz. 7.0cu ft?

thats what i was thinking of doing...i just get scared when it means i won't have acess to my spare if ever needed. so go 18" or 15"

Autotek Amps

alright i will go look at them soon, as in maybe this week. he only lives about 8 miles from me, so it isn't like i am wasting my time. thanks -
A buddy of mine has an Autotek Super Sport 1500.1. He is willing to sell it to me, but hasn't named a price yet. Are these amps good quality? Will it be too much for a single 15" FI BL? and are they overrated?

yes the sundowns are high priced. i might go with this amp then he also has 2 FI 12" SSD's in a walled box for a s-10, he wants 500 for the box, subs, amp. If i can get around 100 off would that be a good deal? Do you trust used subwoofers? Thats the only problem I might have with it, i'd rather go with new but money is a factor here, but i also want quality.... -

well he wants 200 for it. good or bad deal? it would be this amp or the sundown 1500d -
duh! sorry never thought of that option. thanks though anyways 33 hz sound like a good enclosure for the BL?

I am really thinking about purchasing a FI BL 15" by this winter. I currently only have a Lanzar Vibe 250 amp. It pushes 1000watts max. 2 ohm stable and 2 channel. I was wondering if it would be ok to power the driver with this amp. I am not looking to spend a lot of money on another amp, i am satisfied with what I have currently. I'd like a BL, because I hear nothing but good things about them, and sounds like something I would like to have. I love loud bass, and my current sub (Cerwin Vega Vmax) isn't doing the work for me. So good choice or not to get a BL? It would be in a 2000 Cavalier, and I would have someone build me a ported box for it.
-
one more thing d1 ohm or d2 ohm? My current amp is only 2 ohm stable, and I will be running the Bl on it for a few months. The sundown is 1 ohm, correct? So which one should I get and how to wire it down to what I need.
-
i'm just going to ground to my current position right now. A seatbelt bolt. 150 more dollars and the car is paid for :-), then insurance. THEN! 1/0 wiring done this winter and possibly have the sub/enclosure in january. and maybe the sundown in april.
-
i guess I would rather play it safe, and go with the sundown imo. Being that the sundown is so highly talked of. So BL 15" with the 1500d most likely. Will i need a power supply or a back up battery? I am going to run 1/0 gauge, and upgrade my big 3 with 1/0.
-
well as of now. it is between the sundown 1500d (refurb) or the new jbl amp for about 350, plus 60 for a 5 year warranty. so either or. oh and would that be alright on the 15" BL, or would it be cutting it close for too much power (the jbl)
-
help?
-
bump. btw the jbl amp only accepts up to 2 gauge...... got me wondering.
-
alright so i went to a local shop and priced out some other amps. There is a JBL (forgot the model number) supposedly puts out 1600 rms, so i would get what roughly 1200 give or take, true power? or is jbl a good amp. it is priced 599, but being that i know the guy he said 350 and if i want a 5 year warranty 60 dollars. So i figure i am going to go with that amp. What do you think?
-
alright, so I plan on running 1/0 gauge to a reducer to 4 gauge JUST FOR NOW! on my current amp. and purchase the BL and box. I'd play it safe with the sub, Not pushing it, clipping etc. Then in 4-5 months purchase the Sundown 1500d. Think it would be alright to run the BL for a few months LIGHTLY on that lanzar 1000 watt amp?
-
When I first joined this forum, I had intentions of buying a FI BL and a sundown 1500d, but after i figured out the total costs of wiring , box, and all the goodies, it was WAYYYY too much for me. I am now looking into a FI SSD 12" or 15". What amp would you recommend for this subwoofer, it would be for a ported enclousure btw. Sundown is costly for me, but hifonics is crap quality from what i hear. So just need a decent amp to push the subwoofer. Thanks! Ps. and gauge wire would i need to run?
-
well, it didn't fit either way. Couldn't get enough room to screw it in i suppose. Everything was cut right, just seems weird to me it didn't work. Either way, I'm going to just get another one of these subs most likey and get a dual ported box.

I have a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12" and am looking to build a ported box for it, but cannot find the specs! Anyone know of the specs and/or tune it to? It is the newest model, hard to find on the web. All black cone with Red Lettering, not the silver model. Thanks for any help at all!
