haha thats the best find i've ever had! They said it had been there for 6 months. I still cant believe it was even the same coil config as mine. IM excited to bump up to a dual sub setup!

woo hoo! I was hoping for an answer like that!

wiring sub
mwerling1212 replied to mwerling1212's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
thanks for the fast reply! The SAZ1000d has 2 positive and 2 negative outputs so i'll go ahead and try using all of the outputs. im not sure why i got 10 gauge wire, but if i need more i guess i'll go with a larger gauge. thanks! -
I'm building a new box soon for my rl-p 18, and was just thinking of a better way to wire my sub(not wiring it to a different load, just wiring it to one ohm differently. Its a d2 and my amp is a saz1000d. the way its wired now, its just like the image on the 12 volt, wired parallel. the problem is that where the pos and neg go into the sub from the amp, the terminal isnt large enough to cram two 10 gauge wires in. In order to get it in i had to shave a bunch off of it to fit them in. Is it possible to just run one pos from the amp to one on the sub, then run the other pos on the amp to the other pos on the sub since it is a mono amp? thanks

WHO WOULD WIN? SSA XCON 18" VS FI BTL 18" VS digital designs D

you could always get a second bl and tune a little lower depending on what your tuned to now. -
im not sure on how old it is, i just got the car a month ago. i did some research and i think its just glazed over from all the heat it went through from slipping at startup. i went ahead and bought a belt, but i wont be able to swap it until tonight or tomorrow. And yes it is a stock alt.
-
I have been having problems with my serpentine belt or alternator. It was slipping on startup, and when i accelerate my voltage drops to about 12. i tightened the belt and the squealing went away, but the voltage still drops to 12. it stays at 12 until i start crusing. I had a gu ytell me i needed the oem belt because 1996 isuzu rodes have a terrible belt design. My dilema is that im about to instal my system, but im not sure if it is just the belt, or is my alternator bad? Also if someone could tell me how to test my alternator that would be great. i have a dmm if it requires one. thanks!
-
ok i checked it and the alt is fine. so apparently its my belt? Is it possible that it's glazed over and slipping when i accelerate? i dont really want to buy a new belt if its something else.
-
o yea i completely forgot about that! im heading there now so ill report back if its the alternator or not.
-
I am now going to SBN. lol that is going to be nuts.
-
thanks for the help guys. ill pull it out now and see what the problem is.

I got curious and wanted too check out the ohm reading on my sub, so i just disconnected the speaker cable from my amp, then put the probes of my dmm on the the positive and negative cables. The dmm says its wired to 1.8-2.0 ohms. Is this normal? or by some mistake do i have a d4 ohm sub? I have a SS RL-p 18 d2, wired in parallel to my sundown saz1000d. thanks!
-
i have one d2 ohm sub wired in parallel in my box, then i checked it by putting the probes on the cable coming out of the box.
-
nice! ive been waiting to sell my d2 and grab two d'4s. yay
-
they are very nice drivers. I thought they were supposed to be back in stock around now but apparently not. im sure it wont be too long.

Is that jb weld on the gain knob? if it is you have my old amp! lol. -
i decided that i might as well do the big three in my town car, but i have a few questions about it. first, from the batt pos to the alt, im not sure how to connect the 1/0 to the alt. heres a pic of my alt how should i connect it to ther? should i just try and remove that red thing? also, i dont know were the engine block to chassis connection is. could someone please tell me how to find it? heres what the bay looks like another thing... can i just run the pos batt. to alt just straight across to the right and zip tie it to like the radiator hose? thanks for the help!

the big three

I see what your saying. ill take a closer look tomorrow and see if i can remove the red piece without the 1/0 touching the case. -
the big three
mwerling1212 replied to mwerling1212's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I wouldnt remove anything you dont have to while taking the nut off. He cannot fit 0 gauge on unless the red piece is removed.. and if you do remove it make sure the wire will not ground off on the alt what do you mean by that? i think i can just take the red piece off, then just put the 1/0 terminal over the existing cable. -
the big three

i know that, but do i remove the red plastic? it looks like its in the way. -

ok i did some more searching and found out everything except how i should connect the pos to the alt with that red plastic thing there. Anyone know what i should do? -
Been out if the game for 12 years a few questions about Q
mwerling1212 replied to Stevis's topic in Fi Products
with what you would need for that system you will most likely go over the $2000 limit. The alternator and other electrical needs will shoot up the cost quick. -

i have no idea how you go about making such an insane box like that. wow. two thumps up! -
Im going to try and take that little drawer off if my mom lets me. that will allow for a cube or two. If i can't get enough then ill just go sealed. To M5, I already have the 18 from my car. i dont make enough money to pay insurance and gas so ill be getting into home audio a little for fun.
