Looking for 1.5 DIN Stereo
rob682e replied to rob682e's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would like a 1.5 for cosmetic reasons, it's for a 2001 Silverado 2500...it's looking like I'm going to have to get a 1 DIN but we'll see. -
Looking for 1.5 DIN Stereo

Hey all, I'm looking for a 1.5 DIN bluetooth capable deck. I haven't been able to find anything online, my local shop said they have them but I would rather get a nice internet deal first. At this point I'm open to any company as long as it is a decent functioning deck and won't look bad in the truck. Thanks a lot for any info, -Rob -
I'm no professional but posting this thread prior to placing your order may have been a good idea :-/. Good Luck.

Yeah, the wiring job looked great (to me)...when I took the sub out yesterday I wasn't sure why I only found screws in those holes. Oh well, leave it to the noob kid to fix it.
-
Well the installer only put screws in the top 5 holes and not the bottom 3....So that could have been it.

The subsonic frequency isn't adjustable on the ZX1000.1. Call me crazy, stupid, whatever but I put the sub back in today and it doesn't make the noise anymore for some reason....
-
No that was just me being a nub...I haven't gotten to door speakers yet so there was a note in a song that I thought was a low the sub/box wasn't hitting but it ended up being a high that just sounded chitty through my speakers. And I adjusted the settings wrong, not the shop, when I got it. I told the shop I wanted a box made, I had the specs already drawn out but he didn't think it was necessary and went ahead with the prefab...him being the professional he should know but oh well. I have been happy with it so far but this issue is kind of iffy. I don't have the money to have him build a box nor the skills to do it myself...or the resources/time now that I'm away for college.
-
There is no distortion at all. It seems to be a specific low note and it's not the lowest note. If you're implying that I'm overpowering the BL, I doubt it but as I notice you've figured out, I don't know my stuff all that well. And yeah, pretty much I got to be friends with the shop and they take care of it for me...I don't do well with math and hands on stuff, might explain why my major is computer forensics, not auto tech.

The subsonic filter is and has been on since the install. I can't give you an exact number and I don't have the money to buy a meter I'll use once...college isn't cheap. I'm about 3 hours away from home where the shop I usually go to is.

Pretty sure it's around 4ft^3 and tuned to 35hz...it's a prefab. Here's a pic... Gain is at 50% on the amp.

Hey all....in the past month or so I've had an issue on going with my standard BL 15". On a certain low note it will make this clanking, metallic type noise. I took the sub out today, not that I know what I'm looking for but apparently I shouldn't let it do this anymore since it could become damaged. I have a Kicker ZX1000.1 hooked to it. Would this be an issue with my box or is it something I would need to send the sub back to the factory to fix? Thanks -Rob

Just got off the phone with him...he said the box is pretty close to 4 cubed and the port is tuned to 35. Changing the box out for a 30hz probably isn't worth it so I guess I just need not play Late Night Tip.
-
That sounds about right...when I was planning my own box I had it a bit longer at about 3.8 after displacement with a 32hz port. I'm really not sure how to go about this with the guy at the shop, I don't want to like offend him or something...it's my money and now it's my money wasted. I don't have the time to build a box, I'm leaving for college next week and won't have the resources to do so there. Thanks for all the help.

Had to go the hardware store...Correction...still doesn't hit the low note on Late Night Tip, ganna have to talk to the guy at the shop I guess.
-
Yeah...when I first was getting this all setup at the shop, I made it clear I wanted to build a custom box for it but I think the guy underestimated the sub so he went ahead and ordered one.... I went out for a bit this morning and messed with the settings. With the Bass Boost at 0 and the EQ Flat it sounded a lot better, However, it didn't sound loud enough so I had to turn that bass knob up. I ended up with it at about 75% and it was still very clear sounding while shaking my car. I tried Late Night Tip again and it did hit that low note ok but I think this prefab box may have been a mistake...still louder than anyone in this area when I get it all set right. Some pics.. Sorry they are so big, I hope your browser resizes them as mine does.
