    (Misconceptions??)

MadMike and the PMR crew know nothing about audio. They learned from the nerd kid at Bust Buy. This must qualify them to expertly install that JockHummer. Should have just got a fully loaded BTL and been done with it. What cracks me up is the kid who watches chit like this, gets the biggest amp he can afford, some 12 guage house wire and tries to run 2 15's full tilt off of a stock 60amp electrical system in his Geo Metro, kills the amp/subs and then says they are chit. "10,000 watts Yo!" Missed contraception indeed...

What does your username stand for/mean?

Mine stands for Maximus Dickticus Erecticus the Thirty Fourth(XXXIV) I've had the nickname Maximus for some time(long story) and a friend who was studying some sort of latin/Roman history invented the last part and she put it all together, and it stuck. With "Lord" in front it sounds even better, accd to that Sloganizer thing.

So much to write but I'll start off with this tidbit. Let's start with the forclosure crisis. The forclosure crisis was caused by consumers taking out loans that they had little chance of paying back. That was part of the problem. The other part is that consumers were offered these loans by the institutions when their financial standing was questionable. The banks know who is going to pay back and who isn't, so they know who to target (those with chitty credit who have valuable property)and know they can resell said property at profit. Customers didn't come up with this, the banks did. These loan arrangements are set up by the lenders to grab property. It makes sense if you're the bank. The reason why I know this is that having been in the custom home biz out here I dealt with bankers, lawyers, investors, etc...all types of people involved in the process of buying and selling homes. Some of these people have some phucked up ideas on the ways to enrich themselves at the expense of others that they are supposed to be looking out for. There are predatory practices in place, like ARM's and reverse mortgages(fine print-who lives to pay it off? Over 65 only) and so on that are not good for homeowners and since it's so pervasive people accept these methods as standard practice allowing people to fall into traps they can't easily get out of. As long as there is a mortgage on your house, you don't really own it. It's more like a rent to own arrangement. Who really owns your home? The bank, or rather the bank's investors and even then the mortgages are bought and sold in volume like stocks and securities on the open market so they can pretty much do what suits them in the event of a(n encouraged) default.

Sealed box, Common or separate chambers?

It doesn't matter, really. It depends on what you feel like building at the time.

    fi decals

Yes it suxx that I overlooked things but I want to do the right thing here because I plan on doing some major OEM business with Fi down the road. I tried to fill a niche, and with Scott's blessing, I hope to be able to do so.

    Break-in?

Set the system at a consistent volume, leave it there and the subs will get louder as they break in.

That's a real sticker right there! I may be set up quicker than I thought so this friday I should know vfor sure and get the plotter ordered. And yes, I can do this sticker for a bit less than $70.00!

$1000.00 driver?? Phuck it..I'd spend that grand on 2 Fi's or anything made under SSA.

Thanks and welcome aboard! Upon getting the plotter here I will alert everyone so they know where to go and further information.

Yes. Give me time to get set up though and I will definitely beat that $70.00 quote you got.

I am awaiting Nick's reply with the files but it should be much cheaper than store price. I don't have prices set up yet but I am thinking around 20.00 w/shipping included for US. I will charge based on cost of vinyl , meaning no scanning fees and no setup fees. Since I have no overhead I can cut a much better deal to you while still making a little cash. It will take me a couple weeks to get set up so please check back.

We had a big 54" plotter at the shop I worked at. The vinyl is cheap to buy, the sign companies make a royal killing on this stuff. I will find good vinyl that will last and keep the prices affordable. Give me about 30 days(like I said this opportunity came early) and I'll get something rolling. I'll put pics of the finished product up on this site.

ATTENTION! I am getting a plotter here soon and will be able to make stickers for a hell of a lot less than $70.00. This came about 30 days too soon but I will ramp up to meet the demand the best that I can. I requested the files from Nick and hopefully I can get something done soon. Hang tight.

    bandpass boxes

ooo you sound like a FOOL...... or even a tool.... but NOT cool. if your goals in car audio are to piss people off for miles away then you should slap your self. you would wanna use a remote gain to turn your sub down when not wanting full output... or even nice h/u's have sub controls. i stoped using band pass box's in the 90's.... i like more range... but a band pass can play those few notes like no other box. bro im not a professional as I said earlier in this post and am trying to explain my goals the best I can...thanks for the advice but as far as the names and such I could do without... im a straight up guy and all I am doing is asking for advice, not criticism. The drawback with bandpass boxes is the fact they are spacehogs. The specs are completely different for this application and the range is very limited. They are great for burping but outside of that all you would have is a huge heavy fart cannon. You are better off using a vented box. It saves space and gives you much more flexibility.
  18. Sounds like your alternator is going. This happened to me before.
  19. .5 for daily or burp? Many amps can do .5 for burp but daily will cook them. I've got an old Opti50C that does .5 all day long.
  20. You can cheat with a punch and a vice. Use the vice to hold one end of the wire and lay the connector on the vice and hit it. That works if you're in a pinch and can't find a tool.

    Warden Series

30 inch...There wouldn't be many of them sold, they could only fit in vans. It would probably need a 40cu ft box. These would be perfect for nightclub use, theater and rave applications.

    Warden Series

So......I'm going to have to upgrade from my BTL 18" fully loaded? One isn't enough, now I need 2 (or 4) or should I just wait?
  23. At least 2 batteries should be added on top of what you have up front. What's your engine size? Smaller engines work harder to drive these alternators and will suffer due to current draw. My truck actually slows down when the current demand is high. I'm running everything on a 4 cyl engine w/stock alt for now so its starved. Remember that the alt generates a significant resistance while generating that makes the engine work harder.

How did you guys find SSA???

When I worked with Gain Industries and posted my demo vids vids on youtube, I wanted to check out what other vids there were and came across SMD and Fi. I had been out of the industry for some time and upon finding this forum decided to get back in. Now it's time to build some chit and win!

    More flex videos

Yes, but there are those who like to see just how much damage they can do. It's actually kinda fun.
