I like the idea. Want an old Lanzar Opti 50C? I like the amp but it is a power-eating alternator killing inefficient bastard. I want a 3000d at some point.

Ideal enclosure for these consists of about 40 feet of dirt mixed with the detritus of our society.
-
This 22" will require a huge box, making it ideal for home theater applications as well as SPL systems in vans and huge SUV's like Excursions and Suburbans. This thing ain't going in a Honda. I want one. When will they be ready?

Here's our cat Velcro napping with Rocky. Velcro will turn 24 this year in May and still rules the house.

Thats one hell of an impressive basket, I'm picturing this with a 12" triple stack motor on it. MTX's JockHummer can't touch that.

Go with one of the Sundown aps from DBR. They've got good prices and may have something that wont kill your electrical. -

Need amp(s) to power 2 BTLs

I got an Opti 50c for 300.00 shipped. Gave me a 143 off stock electrical. -
The problem is that CEO's and executives are paid such exorbitant salaries with stocks and bonuses that they literally make thousands of times more than the employees that work for them. How does someone like Bob Nardelli, the ex ceo of Home Depot get away with making $250 MILLION in one year? His executives collectively made many times that, some estimates placing the top 18 people in the company pocketing 4 billion total in a year. $250 million is a chitload of money for one person and this kind of thing makes a direct impact on the prices you pay for a company's product. The small business owner like Jacob should be able to take enough to live well on his product sales and still be well off but there is no real reason for the big guy to do that too. The extreme corporate sponsored public robbery that is perpetrated by the Bob Nardellis of the world is a main reason why prices are inflated the way they are. Greed is the reason why the economy is heading down the chitter and it's our own fault for allowing it. If this system was evened out, we would be able to make products in this country and make them adffordable.

I would go with the Raammat. 56 sq feet for around 135.00 shipped for the roll, and it works. With Dynamat you pay for the name and get a whole lot less. 2 rolls do most cars just fine, with some left over.

Audiobahn amps are great for covering up cat-puke stains on your carpet. Keep it around. -

who really makes these amps?
mdexxxiv replied to gerront's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Maybe not the same but they are close enough. Many of the individual parts on those boards come from the same companies, in many cases those parts are made by only one company. -
I have heard systems at competitions that were ungodly loud and shook the ground but didn't hit a high number get beaten by the smaller systems that didn't sound like much but took the higher score. This is where most of the complaints to the judges originate. It's a sore topic for many. The meter and the ear are quite different.

who really makes these amps?
mdexxxiv replied to gerront's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
They aren't the same amp they may use the same board but I doubt they use the same components. The build house I believe is Zenon which also makes some atomic amps. It is Zenon, which makes amps in Korea but getting in contact with the dept that builds amps is impossible. Zenon apparently makes quite a few consumer electronic items. Here is my experience with this sort of thing from trying to start a speaker company: For a few thousand dollars you can have amps or subs made for you in bulk. You can get a ton of product for a minimum $5,000 investment. They provide you with the base product, they give you options on what you want(type of heatsink, choice of internal parts, voice coils, motors, etc..there's alot of chit they give you in their Production Option Package) You generate some specs, they make it for you and there you have it, your own brand. All for under 10K in most cases. I think 80% of the product on the market is made by something like 6 companies or something to that effect. -
how much for the 50c? It's on ebay right now but I'm not seeing any bids yet, ending in 4 days. Going for $300.00 shipped US. Want to put this $ toward upgrades.

What is the minimum number of yellowtops needed to run a Sundown 3000d? I've still got the stock alternator in the Frontier and want to see what I can do. BTW the Opti 50C is up for sale.
-
Stock produces around 60-70 amps-FAR from enough- and the amp would run at 2 ohms. Daily driver application@lower volume, with the occasional demo. Finding a H/O alt for this thing seems impossible because of the small size and it's practically under the engine in a VERY small space.
-
Accessability is a big plus, Atomic makes product for many companies and apparently they have 2 people to deal with if you can even reach them. Sundown is a better way to go, but still both choices are good.
-
I would be interested, however I need to get my opti50c sold..
-
Do it. it's a good amp. How much you want for it if you do it?
-
They are the same board but with minor differences which makes Sundown the cleaner choice. The Atomic amp is still powerful but may have some cheaper parts within, but they are 90% identical. Look at their respective website photos. Many amps are made by the same board houses but they are just built to spec for each individual name out there.

he has pages of it. Weird but hilarious. "Steaming rectal monkey afterbirth foam" What kind of mind invents that?

SPL option has a very tight gap for controlled linear response at 1 note. If music is played, due to the nonlinear nature of this, the voice coil can crash.
