    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I am right there with you Matt, 1911's are the best platform IMO too.

I am going to surprise my daughter with a glock 42 this year for Christmas. Very nice small frame .380 if any one is interested.

One more gun nerd thing for all who care, if you are looking for a 1911 platform, I have shot about every brand you can buy and have yet to shoot one that I felt was junk. I am sure there are some out there, but have yet to shoot one.

Yeah, I have several friends who own Kimbers and I have never heard of a problem from them. In fact, I have never heard of an actual owner of one complain about it. I did some research (because I have heard of the issues as well) and found that most complaints were keyboard commandos who never even shot a Kimber who were relaying something they read on the internet. If Marine special ops, and LAPD SIS use them, I am fine with it. I will have a local smith go through it and polish it up and run a couple tweaks on it. Kimber makes a proven 1911 platform compact to full size. I have shot almost every thing they currently make and like. Just keep in mind they are a lighter and tighter tolerance built gun than say a springfield mil spec 1911, so with the lighter advantage you will have more wrist snap in a .45. Seth as far as polishing it up you can do that or get a box of full lead tip ammo and go shoot it in.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

A guy I work with got one in trade a few months ago. It has a Mil spec 7 twist barrel He always comes out to my house to shoot, so I have had the opportunity to shoot it quite a bit. It's just not my thing. I have owned an AK, and that was really not my thing either. I am really more into a bolt rifle, I love long range utilitarian accuracy. For home defense I have shotguns and pistols. I really don't have a need that semi-auto/Tactical can fill. The AR looks cool, as far as tactical goes, and it really is kind of fun to shoot. It's low recoil makes shooting it for a long time easy, and it makes requisition of the target easy. It feels more like a good rifle than an AK, but the AK has a lot more ass. You know someone is going to die at the end of an AK, where the mild AR seems less deadly. Also, I don't find the AR to be really accurate. That kills the gun for me. I like to shoot sub-moa, and I know the AR isn't built for that, but I am too competitive for that. Keep in mind the .223 and 5.56 are designed to wound during war. The reason being is if you wound one it takes two others to care for the one. For civilians they are just a toy that you can customize and plink with. If you want killing power the AR10 (.308) is what you should be looking at, but the down side is the cost and ammo prices.

Either is a sold performer, one just has a size advantage for concealed carry.

Bought Me A New (to me) Car

The main difference is how they fit for your needs. In the camry weathertech was the best because it acts as a tray catching everything and can easily be unlocked and dumped. In the 4runner the husky was the better option based on design and tread pattern. Both are solid performers, you just need to see which is the best for your application.

Bought Me A New (to me) Car

I would do what Sean did because depending on the vehicle you will like one over the other. Try both to find what fits the best. In the Camry weathertech was the winner, but in the 4runner the Husky was a better fit.

Since it rained here all day there was no progress on the jeep. However the wife found new MJ on the boat and I am going to call my local hook up and get them for her.

It is a real Jeep, not a chrysler mix up. 1997 ZJ before they got bastardized. But yea I understand.

The factory techs are idiots I've found. This fellow was a jeep mechanic and left the shop in 2005, so I figured he had some good knowledge. Going to check the flex plate and torque converter bolts, then may drop the pan to see if there are piston chunks in it.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

The boys Jeep developed a rapping sound while I was gone. Checked the valve train all is good, found a crack in the exhaust manifold and was told that was the problem. I was uncertain so I put a new one on and the noise is still there! WTF does a chrysler mechanic know! Down to a cam bearing or piston skirt slapping. Not sure if I am going to venture that far yet, but my back is so fucking sore I can hardly move today.

It really was, we had about 30 family members on with us which you would think would get annoying, but on a cruise you can do your own thing and meet up at dinner and talk about it. This cruise the wife and I turn platinum, so we got to party more for free.

So your ship has not capsized. . . It was only an 8 day cruise. Home all safe and sound and possibly a couple pounds heavier.
