Ok then what would you recomnd based on what you like ero, features, etc? Would a nikon d7000 or a canon 60d be a better choice?

General shooting, don't intend on shooting long distances. What about sony a65 do you not like? If I spend over 1k I would buy nikon.

Not a word, not that I am suprised. Since Eric left I think their time is spent on other forums, but I will tell you this when I am ready to buy I am going with a Singer.

I know it's not one of the models listed, but Shogen has an a580. Might be worth asking him I looked at that one, it is very nice too. Ive used the Sony a55 extensively and love it, the stock lens is kinda garbage on it but it is good for taking video. If you get some aftermarket lenses you will be seriously able to take a picture of anything and make it look professional. I will be buying my friends sometime soon too. I can get extra lens, they are offering some nice bundle deals on the Sony store.

Ok after my son's graduation I have been thinking of getting an SLR cammea after looking at other pictures. I really like the Sony Alpha series. I am looking at the a57 or the a65. If anybody has experience with either, let me know what you think about it.
