Alpine 9887
Mynameismcgyver replied to dblover's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
All I know is that the older model H/U use a white plug which is a PIN style male on the unit. When I just upgraded to the 9884 I had to switch to the BLACK plug which is a flatter style male end. That is all I know. Hopefully it will help. -

double post. -
I second the motion to let them wang. Personally, I run em about 80% then let it cool down. After that, game on! The characteristics minimally change the more time you get on the woofer Either Scott or Nick told me that it may take up to 10 hours of usage before they are "completely broken in".

I can't build a box that fast but I sure as hell can break one quicker. hah Billy, don't make me go out and buy a system for my room. DAMN YOU.

Having a issue with remote voltage...Possibly?
Mynameismcgyver posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Having a sparatic issues with my remote voltage. Out of nowhere, I am having an issue with the amps/xm unit shutting off randomly. Turn the H/U off and it works again. Took out the DMM and found that Idle voltage is 12.4 and dips around 11.4 when the music is playing. Drove around for a few min and it did its thing again at which the voltage was around 5.5 and not sufficient to turn my amps on. I am running two amps, xm unit and SMALL low rpm fan on the remote circuit and have not had a problem for quite awhile...( I don't believe it is related to having too much stuff on the 12V remote) However....My H/U is over 3-4 years old Alpine 9827 Thinking it has gone through its life cycle? Going to check for wiring issues in the daylight as well but I highly doubt it. Hopefully someone can shed some light! Another clue: Sunday, I ran into an issue with the xm unit turning off out of nowhere BUT everything else was fine...Seems like a problem started there and has gotten worse. Sounds like a H/U voltage problem that can't be fixed??? -

I have to take a run to the parts store for a headlamp bulb and was going to get one.. What size am I looking at for two amps and a small fan? Xm unit is wired separately behind the dash. -

Got the relay hooked up and working. However, I am getting 13.5V at the remote on the amp. Is this ok? -

But heres the weird thing. Ive been running the setup as is for over a month with no problems. But I am totally with the idea of using the relay. Thank you guys for chiming in! -
Ah yes. AKA something that I might like. Thanks man.

Both Mrd-m1005 (alpine) and Usa 2000x produce 1000W as I have the Usa running on one channel (time being). However, the Usa blows the Alpine out of the water. I am also getting less dimming then I did with the Digital amp which seems ass backwards to me. Can anyone shed some light so I can understand this more? Thanks Btw, I love this amp!
