NEED HELP IN COMPLETING MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
dbjunior replied to ginuwine846's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
first dont bother with c/b just use fuses. you want a fuse newxt to stock battery and on the other end before the rear batts. connect the 1/0 from the front to the rear batts then from the batts to the amps. the speaker amp will connect directly to rear batts like the sub amps. as far as grounding the batts a solid frame ground should work for rear batts but a 1/0 run from the front batt to back batts is preffered. dont forget to do the big 3. -
with or without sec amp music or tone.

if flashy lights are the most important thing get the hifonics. if quality products and amazing customer service are whats important to you go sundown.
-
what you doing with the 12's giant midbass for the minivan.
-
audible performance diffrence i doubt it, on the mic you might see a .1 or .2db diffrence. if the port is on the small side id recommend the flares to help keep noise down.
-
the amp is a 4000w class a/b amp that can be bought new for $260 that might be part of the problem
-
flared helps reduce port turbulence and decreases the chance of port noise.

id look into diffrent equipment. whats your budget -
id say bl tuned around 3.5cu tuned 35hz should sound good and punchy. if you still dont get what you are looking at id look into upgrading your midbass.

Bass Knobs

whatever you have running to your amp for rca's you plug into the unit then run a set to the amp. if you are using a loc run rca's from the loc to the unit then to the sub amp. -
The box sealing off the cabin and not letting sound waves go past it. i agree looks a little tight. id turn it around and seal it to the cabin.

1/0 will not support that much power two runs of 1/0 each with its own 300amp fuse. -
4 or 2 channel amp?
dbjunior replied to T0mmysee's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
passive you just run a channel to the crossover and let it do its work. active you run a separate channel to the tweeter and mid so you have the control of where to set the crossover freq. it lets you have more control for better sound quality. personaly id use a 4ch and go active and power the 6x9's off the headunit. -
id do a 3000 for all four maybe a pair per saz2000d.

i believe meade only does high 150's. not that thats not loud its way more than most people can handle. but he has more power and more equipment than you and you think you are gonna hit the same. personally i think if you hit 150 you would be happy. the only reason to worry about numbers is comps. the tuning of a box makes a huge diffrence in output and perceived output. if someone has a comp box tunined in the high 40's and burps a 140 at 50hz it wont be anything like a daily driver that does 140 at 30hz. the 30hz will shake more and move more air seeming louder but not acctually being louder.

i like the flush look but it seals all the bass into the trunk. have you thought about having the sub fire into the cabin and have a plexy glass window in the back with lights in it so when you open the trunk it still looks good but you get more bass into the car.
