they give you evrything you need to know about each sub. if you cant use what they give to determine what you need you are probably the type of person who buys crap because they say it sounds great and shakes the earth and only costs $100 and has max power ratings of like a gazillion watts

Titanium Power Audio?
dbjunior replied to shizzzon's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
look at there ratings strapped the 8800 makes a supposed 8800w @ 1ohm but strap them at 2ohm and you only get 10,000w ? shouldnt you get like 16,000+ -
you need speakers with high efficency and power handling. only thing i can think of of hand is the cadence cvl-6k 95db sensitivity and 200wrms you can get a set for about $200 i have the 5.25 set and think they sound great and loud.

3/4 will be fine just brace it and you you wont have a problem possibly double baffle about 50 in of port for a 5c box if its a trunk car try not to block all the opening to the cabin with the box if firing towards the rear if you fire into the cabin sealing off the trunk will yeild the best results
-
make sure you use plenty of port area.
-
build a ported box for the q it will still sound great and be just as loud if not louder than the cvx's about 4-5c tuned to 32hz should be good
-
not very familiar with the x series, any more info? xmax rms box rec mounting depth
-
if you want louder try 5c tuned to 32hz sealed to the cabin

check the load at the amp to make sure a speaker wire has not come loose. -
Got an Idea Here... Tell Me What You Think...
dbjunior replied to Doctor Q's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
if you want more lows the q's love large boxes put the 15 in a 5cu tuned to 28hz the lower tuning will take up more space due to longer port. make sure you follow fi rec for port area. the lower tuning and larger box should really bring the lows to life. if your a rap listener id reccomend 5cu tuned to 32hz it should be louder and the larger box will give the lows a bit of a boost without losing to much of the upper hz tuning to 28 you might need to cross the mids as low as 50hz. if you do decide to buy an 18 pm me i have one in great shape basic model no cooling dual 2ohm i might let go. -
how is your box setup sub up port back how far is the box from the hatch it doesnt take much to throw a score off. is it a 2dr or 4dr blazer 4dr peak at around 51 52hz the 36hz you had before may have been the box peak not the vehicle peak. before rebuilding get more time on meter and try moving the box around slowly inch by inch

power handling is only rated at 200w but i think it would be a good option jbl i like the re8 also but its only rated at 175w and doesnt have the greatest sensitivity.
-
the popping noise may have been your amp shutting off and turning on due to low voltage it would also not make as much power if its not getting enough. have the alt checked if its ok it could be your charging wires. have you done the big three? if not now is the time.
-
have you ever thought about offering the mj's in diffrent sizes. its an incredibly priced 18 but not everyone has room for and 18. i think they would be great budget subs. they have decent power handling and xmax so it would be a great alternative to the over-hyped type r.

nice to have a girl on here its a bit of a sausage fest. some guys get so desprite they talk about violating sub vent poles.
-
5k should have been high enough they are rated 2.5k-30k range most likely based on the 80w long life it says they can handle 200w shortened life so 120-150w crossed at 5k should have been fine for a while. how did they sound good or distorted.

ive heard sub forward port up works well to al you have to do is rotate the box if possible.also subs up and port to the side have done well but ive only seen that with a pair of 10's might be hard with the 12's. the loudest thing i can think of for you might be a wall.

most of the time but not always. ive had the gain maxed and had to turn the bass boost up to get full output due to a very weak signal source mp3 player. once i switched the source to a better one bass boost was dropped to 0 and gain lowered to 1/3 to get same output. most signal sources now though wont require any bass boost and wont need to max gains to reach full power.
