the amp is fine if you want to compensate for the slight diffrence in power just make the box a bit larger.
-
only reason i would decrease box size is to increase power. retune higher and re-adjust your ssf so i wont bottom out. as long as your not coming near mech limits you have no reason to downsize box
-
celica is a hatch so sub up port back will be a good start the l7's being square tend to like larger boxes compared to other subs of same size so a 12 should be about 2.5-3 cu with 25 - 45sqin of port area tuning 32-36 should be good for those subs daily this is based on rated power higher power and box size should decrease. not sure what dimensions will fit in a celica so i cant give you an exact size
-
as long as a full excursion it doesnt hit the floor you will be fine exact distance depends on subs abilitys.
-
i had a boston g5 that had the fuses the sub was rated at 450w and i ran 1200w to it for several minutes and to my surprise no popped fuse slightly stinky coil but that was it still worked great

if you listen to rap and feel the 32 hz tuning is a little flat and not punchy sounding try tuning higher like 36-38hz it will give it a punchier sound and sound as if you have better lowend due to a noticeable diffrence between higher and lower freq. i have tried many subs in many boxes and personally i like a 36hz-38hz tuning for rap music. i have tried low tuning and while it is nice for other music it just seems a little flat on rap due to higher freq in the songs normally 40-50hz range with lowes in the mid 30's

in the right box a burp of 8k should be possible without LN
-
relax take a deep breath and just pic one neither is a bad choice and if there is a diffrence in output it wont be much with either setup i could see low to mid 50's with a good box. id worry more about getting the box perfect.
-
if you are using two 3500w amps id get the lvl518 same soft parts as the lvl4xl but more magnet and i think slightly better cooling. the extra motor force should help edge out the 15's

just looking to learn a little but why would resin weaken the mbf. i would understand that it would add not strenght without glass and even still very minimal due to it being a flat surface and only a single layer.

DC Audio 10" lvl 4 or Mach5audio IXL 10.2.2
dbjunior replied to 4X4AUTIGER's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
what do you plan for tuning and what music do you listen to if you listen to rap and tuning between 32-34hz both would be good if you tune higher go with the lvl4 if you go with a lower tuning go with the ixl for rap id pick the lvl4 and tune to 36hz it will slam and get decently low for rap if you listen to a lot of the slowed and like it a little lower the ixl at 32 would do a nice job -
What voltage to set gain to?
dbjunior replied to Stu55's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
what was the tone and what is your lowpass set at you should have used a 50hz tone and the lowpass should be set to 60-80hz -
pics might help

id get one of the referb t1000's from emporerjj1 hes selling them for 200 right now. they are solid amps that put out more than rated. dont get the q though its a great driver but if you were looking at getting a btl then the bl is a better sub for you. depending on the vehicle and room available get a 12 or 15 the if you only have 2-3 cu get the 12 if you have more get the 15 and tune to 36hz make sure you also use enough port area.

What is the max i turn my heead unit too?
dbjunior replied to Maddenkid2011's topic in General Audio
most hu will clip well before max volume. if it goes to say 40 i wouldnt go above 30-32 pic a volume level around 75% of max and set your gains to this then use that number as your max volume -
strapp a pair of saz1500 2ohm your looking at 3k+ ut would be a great option and not cost a ton
-
its either email them directly to get a price quote or email them to find the nearest dealer that you can spend more money at.
-
i compete so i try to get the most surface area i can just happens that a pair of 10's has a slight edge over a single 12 also if a 12 can only take 3k worth of abuse you can use 6k worth of power on a pair of the same type 10's so slightly more surface area double the power handling equals more db's in a similar sized box

as far as your budget goes id look at 12in incriminator audio lethal injection, 12in mach 5 ixl, 12in ssa dcon, 12in fi ssd, 12in dc audio lvl3. as far as your goes id look more toward the mach5 ixl and the dc lvl3. the ixl is nice because its not a flashy looking sub so nobody will exspect it to be as good as it is, if you want a little flashier looking sub the lvl3 is the one to get. depending on your budget for amp may also help with choice.
-
from what i know best in the lanes setups tend to be sub forward port back in a sonotube style box not sure how it does daily though.
-
id check the tinsel leads
-
if its all not blown then yes its a killer deal thats like a $1200 amp and the subs are not cheap either.
-
running one at 1ohm would be less efficeint but not by a noticeable amount. at 2ohm it would be say 87% efficent and 1ohm maybe like 85% so for thats only a couple amps diffrent not noticeable on a good electrical although if you drop the amp below rated to say .5ohm it may drop to 65% efficient as long as you can support 2000w either should be fine as long as your talking same amp so id get 1 amp and run it at 1ohm use the extra money for something else like big 3
-
great two ways good components great crossover, slightly better components not as good a crossover good 3way little more than you wanted to spend as far as power just bridge the channels to get the most power from the amp at 4ohm
-
thats a ton of switches and gauges.
