Need help selecting new HU
dwright27 replied to john denver's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
why not look in the direction of eclipse? 5 volt pre-out FTW!! -
id go with the q myself, but get the BL if you wanna be uber loud i guess.
-
if his gain is set correctly he wont have to worry about pushing the Q to its thermal limits.
-
OK which sub is better handsdown. Both BL and Q cost $294 before adding options. powerhanding appears to be the same also. ported box on Q is larger than BL. Q18 6-10cft. fs23.8 Spl 89.4 BL18 5-10cft. fs32.5 SPL92.6 the Q is gonna give you ALOT more sound quality then the BL and still be able to get loud. if it was me i would get the Q with all the options, if i wanted to be loud and sound great doing it. BL is more effecient so it doesnt take as much power to get it loud, but the Q will sound better on the lows IMO.
-
Yeah i agree. I wasnt too impressed by the SQ of the BL but then again its not really made for it tbo. No doubt, but saying the q wont get loud is a bad statement. id get the Q for LOUD SOUND QUALITY purposes
-
looks nice, wonder how they sound though.
-
Fi Q will get loud as well and sound better then a BL doing IMO.

no bracing? -
id tune 32 - 35

IMO drew i think the XL was made as a BTL "competitor" if you will ...... i dont think the btl has anything on the level 5. have you seen Andrews thread on SMD??? 6KW per woofer
-
MORE POWER!!! < --- was doing 146 @ 30 hz with 1 18" BTL. also, the resonant frequency changes with the space available inside the cab. im pretty sure this box is much bigger then the box for the 15's, which would amke your frequency drop i believe. fold the seats, slide the box forward from the rear gate at least the width of your port. then re-meter it at your frequency.
-
i still vote wall!
-
dont take the seats out of the G-35 unless you completely wall it. those cars are awesome!!
-
man, put 2000 RMS to them and cal it a day. to put 4000 - 5000 RMS to a woofer DAILY, you REALLY have to know what you are doing. and please, please dont play below the tuning frequency
-
when will the 18's be back in stock?? wall was designed for 18's ..... what about the IXL's?
-
i hope its a mess up.......

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived
dwright27 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
If you offer to buy a 100 of each, I am sure I can help to make it happen. what would u give ...ur 21" rims ... Sean's basically pointing out that there isn't a big enough market to support the investment into those oversize types of woofers. I'd expect SSA to offer 12", 15" and 18" at the max. Probably won't be a 10" since the motor is too big. True. I do think they need a 18" tho. Including the fact we cannot afford the parts to go above an 18", nor the very few people who would actually have the room for such a large driver. We are a very small budget business, much tighter then people realize, so every penny counts, meaning we are bound by what we have access to at the moment. i would be interested in running 21"s or better ..... could you guys do custom orders?? i would reallly love to have a 24"er, and am willing to pay for them .... sorry, we cannot get our hands on baskets that big. You could deff get a deal on some IA 21" Death Penalty's though. could you guys use the IA baskets?? also, would these be able to handle 2500 - 3000 RMS daily?? -

how much are the icons?? what ever happened to the 18's?? -
that looks great but if he only needed to paint it then why did it get fudgeed?? maybe while he was sanding?
-
sub back port back with room for pass through. or seal it from the trunk and fie the port and woofer into the cab if the seats fold down ... and i would get the milk shake , structurally important
