If you plan on spending 2k Get 2 18 Icons. Enclosure, whatever amp you want, alt, batts, wire cables, and deadening. Still could have sum change left over.
-
All I can add to this is reinforce it, use sound deadening, or remove factory glass and install plexi glass. Its not going to crack, shatter, and its stronger

16 cubes to play with...going SSA...

Denims right. What is your goal? SPL or SQ? Whats your budget? And dont go with three subs. Its a waste of a sub, space, wood, and power, You wouldnt hear any difference wid 3 subs. It would be the same as 2 (Its also less efficient) & maybe just a 1.5db increase. So either go with 2 or 4. If you want SPL go ported. But if your tight on space and just want SQ, and good deep tight bass go sealed. I PREFER ported. If you want Dcons sealed do 13cuft, Ported 16cuft tuned from 28-33hz. ICONS: 10cuft sealed. PORTED: 13cuft. tuned from 29-33hz. XCON: 5.5cuft sealed. PORTED: 6.5-7.75cuft tuned from 27-34hz. Those are options (Hope u like). Whatever setup u get will be loud! Should be in early-mid 140's easily P.S: If money aint shit. Get ZCONS!! Whatever you chose I wish you the best of luck! -
Gorilla Glue doesnt work for your mirror? U must flex errthing!

Nice. Im in St.Louis and most people use mainstream like kicker, rockford, kenwood etc. Most people dont really know about high end brands Like SSA, Fi, DC Etc. But Imma change all that wit THE Zcons!! Imma b da loudest in STL. Im planning on 14cuft after displacements (Double baffled and braced) tuned to 33-34hz. Already got 2 HFI3000D's ready to feed them!
-
Very good setup. Whats your enclosure like? Have you got it metered? I Plan on getting 2 Zcons myself (18's)
-
150dB on the dash, sealed up, with that gear in a KJ ? Jeep Liberty. Very good setup! 2 12's In 50's is amazing! Was it daily? What was your enclosure like?
-
im just a fan of 12's i think they sound better. The SP4 is a good choice but 2 12" should bring more bass and cone area. Since your a fan of 12's check out the SSA Icons! Their 20 bucks cheaper than the SSD's (If you were getting fully loaded SSD's) and their equal to if not better. They handle a lil more power, Better SQ, good low and high end output to. Or just go with the SSD's! What are your goals? SPL (LOUD), SQ. What vehicle is this going in. What ever choice you make do you have the power to back it up? Whats your electrical like?

HYFR it is. Im going wid 2 18" Zcons. Can U say 150+
-
Like the guys said not really that much of a difference. However, the Xcon takes more power and will have a better low and high end. If you really care about numbers get the Xcon (I'd go with Xcon). U would c a 2-4db increase on TL (Install Dependent). Are you a big fan of 12's? Tight on space? Just asking cuz y not spend a xtra 10-20 bucks for a 15 or 18? They could get louder, push more air, and get lower, and louder! I mean y not you know.

Yeah my bad guys I did the sketch just to give some what of an idea the port isn't cut like that over all it slams for what it is going to up grade the subs to something current with in a couple.of months once I can get rid of these and afford somthing else going to have about 2k RMS on tap once i get the right electical but for now here is a link to the subs playing Nice Vids. Got a gud flex going on wid the CVR's

You won't find a cheap 2kw amp worth buying. Hifonics is good. Yes their amps are overated but only buy a couple hundred watts. Their also cheap, efficient, and they dont get hot after long terms of use, and they also have good reviews. Check out vids on youtube. Their on Fis DC's Kicker's Rockford,AA, SSA ETC. I personally use Hifonics (HFI3000D's) always does the job & never fails. Mine puts out 25-2700rms. Thats not bad for 280.00$ While other amps like Sundown,DC,Rockford ETC. Cost a xtra 700+ for a couple more watts. Try them out. U wnt be disappointed! I plan on putting both HFI3000D's on to 2 18 Zcons. Talk about LOUD!!! (5000+)
-
Wow! What kinda enclosure are they in! 151db on 600rms each is amazing! Seems like it should of did the 156 with rated rms (2250). Is that a wall setup or bandpass? Cant be a regular ol ported setup. Unless u really kno wtf ya doin. he doesn't know what he is doing.. The subs are installed IB ... Full o' fail!!! He has sum vids on youtube. The setup looks gud n loud. He has a T Top 2.

I agree! If price and space isnt a option for u. Zcons all the way! I personally plan on getting 2 18 Zcons in 14cuft after displacements tuned to 33-34hz. Just make sure you can back them up. Whats your power like?
-
My trunk is huge. About 54 inches wide and about 18 inches tall. Does that help? Cargo Volume, cu. ft. 14.5 Space doesnt seem like a issue so go with da Dcons. U wnt b disappointed! I'd go with 8-9cuft tuned to 31hz. U will be amazed

I mainly looking for loudness and the guy "Denim" on da 2nd page knows alot about those subs and he basically said with my goal the Bl's would be louder. Another guy said the xcons have better sq but they wont get louder. what do you suggest. Do you know about Fi & SSA products personally? Such as the BL & Xcon? what do you consider loud? Anywhere from mid 40's is loud. I jus want to hit 150''s. I think the Zcons would have no problem with that.
-
Seems like you should be in the late 140's. I looked up reviews and vids on the SSA forum on the Zcons (Earlier) and their told to be very LOUD & LOW (Nuttin but gud reviews!). People hit mid to late 140's with the Xcons. The Zcons should reach 150's easily (Depending on install, power etc.) Whats your enclosure like?

You know he is actually one of the Co-Owners of SSA. I personally own ZCON's, but I've heard all the SSA woofers. They all sound great and all get very loud. It all boils down to power and enclosure : Have you got urs metered? wats size are they? Whats your enclosure & power like?
-
Thats what I was thinking! The BL's are 404$ and da Zcons are 468$ and the Zcons seem better built, they have better sq, better low end, and louder (Overall better). I might jus get those. I can gain db, have better sq, and have better built subs etc. for a lil xtra $! Also, since I got the Hifonics HFI3000D's those Zcons will love getting 2500+wrms each! Seems like a fairly LOUD setup.

Thanks man. So BL's it is.
-
Yes I want to do good on the TL. but I chose 32-34 because I love my lows to. I dont wanna tune to high I want the best of both worlds. So I figured tuning around there would be just right and it will still do a good late 140 on the TL.

The Xcon 18's are about the same price but the Fs is lower and senstivity is a few db lower and their 1750wrms instead of 1500wrms (for the BL's). Not really much of a difference but would they be louder or not really noticable? Tuned to 32hz. 14cuft after all displacements.
