Local guy told me to buy that and modify it. I think Id rather build though. Im gonna hit up a friend tomorow and see if he will help me out with tools and expertise... I was just kind of hoping someone had all the measurements and maybe a box plan already for somethign like this.

I already have the alternator.... On a brighter note i just got off the phone and I can drive back over to the parts store to pick up my batteries tomorrow....... I think they are punking me...

I know it's a little raw and I wouldn't go about it exactly this way (I would have some compassion of course) but you really think adoption is better? Pass your problem off on someone else? Your not passing on a problem to somebody else, your helping some couple who cannot have children on their own to have the chance at raising a child. Abortion in some instances is correct, but this is reckelss, irresponsibility on two young adults that should know better. Now you think abortion is the thing to do in some instances? There are already way too many children in foster care waiting to be adopted. Some never do get adopted and are forced to live in foster homes until they turn 18. I think we can all agree that they were reckless and irresponsible. Sorry I should have described this in more detail. I can see Abortion as an option if it's a life or death risk for the mother, incest, rape or a serious medical problem. Other than that no I do not agree with abortion for the sake of convenience. I know all to well that there are to many children waiting to be adopted and to many in foster care. Our society is just plain ruthless and selfish. i can see where your coming from on abortion. i always used to think the same thing. but its a bit different now that im on the other side of things...... Conveniently changing your values when it becomes inconvenient? I'm sitting here right now feeding my 5 month old grandson. He spends a lot of time here. The mother cant afford daycare and works like 60 hours a week. He boogied and left a pregnant girl behind. Her parents want nothing to do with her because we're white. My son wants nothing to do with us for helping her. I lost a son and gained a daughter and grandson. It kinda sounds like I came out ahead.

But what subs should I look at? Ill be running 2 Mmats 2000.1d's . Supposedly rated at 2000@1ohm rms. I know the slightly older d2000.1s were rated at 1500. I dunno. Its a 1995 z28 . My son wants to do an spl car next year. I have no issues losing my cargo area or back seat.

How much airspace were able to get with a box like that? I know I can get 3.5 behind the rear divider.

amps just got here. Identical models different colors. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet. They were sold as a pair and my understanding as per our phone conversation led me to believe they matched.

Yeah. I kick myself in the ass daily for not getting the nightshades when I had the cash. We got rid of the 3500 , decided we wanted to do something loud and bought the 2 2000's. We pretty much decided wed do what we could this year. We talked about wight and passengers then we decided to give up the back seat for a year. I know this is kind of far fetched......I have no idea if we'll have the power..... I wanna do a 150 Had a bathroom break that cost a ton and its slowing us down but Im almost done with the repairs.

The budget for electrical is irrelevant. This build has no time limit. The alternator gets purchased next month. Im hoping to find matching power wire somewhere before Im finished with the install. I really like the stinger expert. If nothing presents itself Ill probably switch over to excelene. We have planned for a starter battery and 2 in the hatch. They will probably be optima YT. I can get a screaming price on them. Liek i said. The subs will likely be used. Reconing is not an issue.

It depends really. Ill probably snag something used. I was looking at DC XL 18s but after reading around I'm not sure Id have the power so I'm kind of looking at some AQ hd3c's. I looked at sundowns but I don't think an sa18 could take 2k daily. I like SSA products but there's no way Im gonna drop that kind of money for a set of Zcons and the xcon is really not exactly what Im looking for, an spl sub. There are just so many feakin options. Id rather find a good match for my amps than blindly grabbing something randomly and either overpowering or barely pushing some subs.

I'm not really into amps like that but if it did close to rated I think it would be fine. Although the Dcon is rated for 300 watts Ive tried a LOT of different amps with it and it seems to like a good clean 400-450 watts more than anything else.

I wonder if anyone makes these dustcaps?

LAWL. Mine hasn't ripped and Ive put it through hell. Of course if I sell it please change " put it through hell " to "used lightly, never abused" :-p

right now it has eibach lowering springs and blown shocks. ill be replacing the shocks and probably adding spacers in the springs. to help take the load. should hook up nice at the track when its all done. I thought about spacers and thats probably what I will have to do. Im still sticking to the single bad ass 10 idea though. My shocks aren't blown and my car is relatively low miles. It just doesnt feel right with all the weight all the way in back. Having the wall in front of the back wheels is probably going to help out quite a bit. Oh yeah. Thanks for this thread. If my wife gives me any grief Ill show her your build and sat " Well at least Im not doing this !"

I have a z28 and weight has always been a concern not so much from the speed standpoint but rather looking at the springs and stuff. Are you going to do anything to help out with the weight?
